My guess is that people are flooded with information recently so they tend to forget things more and replace them with something newer. Ease of access to internet had a huge positive influence on the exposure of lesser known artists, but also gave negative influence on the longevity of music, cinema and other media.
I still like to browse through my favourites at least a few times a year, remembering great music such as this lovely track :)
