Coby White is actually the least impressive of the candidates. Look at his stats 2 years ago. The only thing that changed with Coby White were minutes. That is the only thing that changed. Levine went down and he took over the minutes but did not truly play much better than the 2020/21 season.

I would love to give it to Luka but lets face it the important advanced stats like VORP, PER, WS/48, BPM Jokić is 1st in all of them and not by a little. If you take VORP for instance Jokic is 1st with 10.6 and Luka 2nd with 8.1. Thats a big difference. BPM Jokic 13.6, Luka 10.1. WS/48 Jokic is 1st with .292 but Luka aint even in top 3 He sitting in 5th with .211. PER Jokic 1st with 31.1, Luka 4th with 28.1. The only advanced stat where Luka is overwhelmingly 1st is USG% at 36.3 but that because he's.a ball hog and high volume shooter. Jokic is the clear MVP. If they wan't to give out best offensive player of the year, then you could argue Luka or Shai, otherwise they're not on the same level as Jokic in terms of team impact. Besides, Jokic has no All-Star players on his team. Luka does.

So many people are saying the MVP award will become worthless if Luka doesn't win simply because Jokic won an MVP award when Denver was the 6th seed so therefore the 5th seeded Mavs should get it, lastly, do you know when MVP voting starts or whatever?

Yeah those are great points. My MVP is Jokic for that reason as well, but also the fact that hes torching people in advanced stats as well. Even when you look at the 2022 season where he had Will Barton and Campazzo as his 3rd and 4th best players (my god), he was dominating the advanced stats, in 6th place in the west.
Murray is an all str caliber player and outside of kyrie and Murray jokic’s team is much better and has been way healthier. Advanced stats are also affected by how good your team is and what team rotations look like. Luka is barely behind in wins with the way harder situation

Idk get how Giannis isn’t at least above jokic in the mvp talk he’s averaging 30 12 and 7 on a historic 60% fg. He plays the best defense out of the candidates by far and makes the biggest impact with how many defenders they have to bring down to cover Giannis in the paint that it leaves 1-2 guys wide open almost every time. His gravity on defense is just as big and part of the reason brook lopez is so good, he’s quick enough to take on switch’s so brook can chill in the paint and block shots
