FUN FACT:
Before this set, Chase goes to the french stream and borrows a pro controller.
The French cheers for Chase because the winner has to fight against Gluto next and he's doing way better against Palutena than Kazuya.
By the end of the set, they said Chase is now a member of the french community and nickname him "La Chaise" (litterally "the chair" in french).
When Chase come back to the stream, he says that was the best controller he ever touched. Everyone congratuled him for the upset and told him that he can keep the controller for the whole tournament.

Maybe it's just me, but I genuinely believe that Kazuya is making Riddles play worse overall.
He's been focusing too heavily on Kazuya's Touch of Death Combos that his overall Neutral ends up suffering because of it.
Sure, he didn't win a Major until he went Solo Kazuya, but his results are definitely looking more inconsistent than his time with Terry.
I honestly agree with this. I keep seeing him overextending or just mashing and it costs him. I feel like he should at least work on dual maining with Terry, Terry just makes things easier in a match compared to Kazuya sometimes.
He plays him too aggressive kazuya can be played defensively and work bc it forces your opponent to approach more than you
His neutral his easily the best of the Kazuyas I've seen (maybe next to Tea). No other Kazuya moves like he does, since it's really hard to properly move fluidly and fast like him.
@@Oz1455 Sure it's the best amongst the Kazuya players, but Riddles' is sufferring overall as a player because of it.
This becomes increasingly apparent in certain matchups where a Secondary is absolutely necessary, and we see how much worse off he's become as a result of his dedication to Kazuya's gameplan since the way the character plays doesn't translate well to other characters.
He was very easily intimidated and started spamming panic options randomly when he only had to use electric to regain the advantage, chase did very well, but as you say, since big house, riddles's kazuya has only gotten worse
Does riddles not like the palu matchup as Terry? I’m very surprised he didn’t switch.
Chase’s ledge trapping was actually perfect this game.

Damn I've never watched chase before but he's good. His execution is very good and his timing and spacing of his moves are on point. It seemed like he always chose the right move for the situation. His neutral wasn't as amazing but had so many reads on riddles that it made up for it
He's one of the top players in Mexico

Those backairs were simply PERFECT. One more pixel and they wouldn't have hit. How many times did they hit Riddles while he would have thought he was safe, wow. Amazing spacing. Hats absolutely off to Chase.

I think Riddles was a little sloppy in this set. I saw a couple miss-inputs in the first two games that were really costly, a couple d-tilts instead of crouch dashing and a few wind godfists instead of EWGFs and it put him into such a devastating disadvantage. Plus he was getting read pretty hard through the entire set. Congrats to Chase man he had the game on lock pretty much the entire time. He executed a great gameplan against kazuya: stay out of his range. It worked excellently and his consistency and timing with those bairs are fuckin scary
Riddles was mashing his ass off.
Riddles needs to learn how to stop panic mashing. Im not saying I could beat him, but it's evident he does it. Even I do it a lot when I'm getting pelted lmao. Panic mashing is really bad for Kazuya
Riddles really has a bad streak at choking. You can tell he gets really tilted. Also notice compared to Tea Riddles has the better execution for more consistent Electric conversions, but some of Riddles neutral choices especially in this this MU makes no sense like Yolo devil sweeps
Tea’s kazuya is kinda crusty though.

Kazuya from riddles is certainly the best in my opinion, but it seems that it will be difficult for Kazuya to win alone in the future. He needs a second character.
He does have terry but yeah he's relying on Kaz too much. I think the matchup for Kaz is finally being learned. Riddles has not really achieved any notable success since his first major win
Chase played this matchup so well. Kazuya has a broken advantage state, but just about as poor a disadvantage and Chase capitalized on that.
Just as an example, look at 14:03 and watch how Riddles loses his stock. Chase hardly ever lets him land and he only takes about 12% damage while dealing ~130% to Kaz and taking the stock.
Lots of cross ups on Riddles shield, juggling, getting Riddles off stage, and ledge trapping really were key for Chase to bring down Kazuya. Well done 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Also riddles played into so much. Like he never switched up his ledge options and chase was on him for that

Starting at 6:28 chase hops twice in an interesting way. I would have never noticed if it wasnt for pink fresh on tweak talks but he was saying that kazuyas auto turn around is a bit slower compared to other fg characters. So if you hop above him on one side and drift back on the other there is a bit of lag before he turns around. Not sure how safe it would make all of your options but its interesting to actually see after hearing it.

Kazuya is still broken but he does get countered a bit. Congrats to Chase and well done to Riddles, he tried his best.

I've seen this Palu player before and he's solid.. I also love riddles but I like to see Kazu lose.. those 0-death setups while the other player basically just afks are not fun to watch or hype at all.

On riddles' last stock of game 5 he shoulda fished for moves that trip like stature smash or devil fist instead of fishing for electric. When he landed the electric he got nothing off of it while on the other hand I feel like he coulda gotten the stock if he started with one of those moves. Regardless Riddles is an amazing player, if you see this riddles let me know what you think

Dude, there were so many moments were riddles just have to spam electric until it connects, he just no need to do anything else and got beaten for that in plenty interactions.
(i know it sounds kinda goofy, but that strategy works really well with tea's kazuya so...)
I've seen Chase before but this one is really impressive. Beating Riddles Kazuya is no easy feat. Riddles could've played better in some of those games though. But still Chase really knew how to deal with Kazuya bs and you have to respect that.
