I am from "The Continent" and was brought up by rather strict parents and nannies.
We eat with fork and knife only when we have a piece of meat that needs to be cut.
In that case, we hold the fork and knife, as it was demonstrated, to cut off a piece of meat and eat it.
However, we turn the fork around to eat the other food which comes with the meat and use the
knife to push the food onto the fork.
When there is no meat, which needs to be cut on the plate, we eat using the fork placed in the right hand
and holding a small piece of bread with three fingers of the left hand, which may be used to push food
    onto the fork when necessary.
There are, besides meat, other dishes, such as vol- au-vent or quiche, which may be eaten using fork and knife.
But, salad is not one of them. If a salad leaf is too large to consume with the fork, we simply leave it on the plate
and it may even serve as a reminder to the cook to be more careful when prepping the salad.
And we never bite off a piece of bread, but always break off a smaller bite size and eat it.
That is connected to our Christian Catholic Tradition where Bread is sacred, reminding us of the Lord's prayer and of the Holy Eucharist, The Lord's Supper, where He took Bread, and broke it and gave it to his apostles. One may never leave a piece of bread on one's plate, we must eat it.
I am not trying to push religion here, but just explaining the meaning of certain table rules in Europe,
more so the Catholic and Eastern-Orthodox countries.
The main reason for table manners is not to appear as someone belonging to the upper class and superior,
but the respect for the food and it's Creator, who has given it to us and our fellow man.
And we NEVER lick our knife or put it in the mouth.
I have noticed that many RUclips food bloggers
have no table manners at all and do it all the time.

I'm left-handed and I use knife with my left hand and fork with my right. I heard 85% of left-handed eat with right-hand. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them. Am I considered 'not civilized' for not following the proper etiquette rule, so I should start training myself to use proper hands? Or can I politely ask the server to switch the placements of utensils? Or should I just switch myself? I'd appreciate your help on this. Thank you!

Claire Park ma'am, the only thing that would be uncivilized would be to tell someone at a dinner party they are eating incorrectly. Unfortunately people do not take into consideration that the entire world is not right handed. Etiquette instructions always leave out the word "IF". Such as, "lay the knife down and switch the fork over to your right hand IF you are right handed." I love watching these videos but have noticed they never include thanking the hostess, not saying "I dont eat that or like that" and certainly dont embarrass someone by pointing out there etiquette mistakes. Now I am off to see more videos hahahah

Don’t move it up on the placement on the table just pick it up in the hole before can your left hand and that’s fine but definitely do not ask anyone to adjust the placement and don’t move the stuff on the table just pick it up as necessary and just hold it in your left hand instead no big deal
