Rather than "pirate captain" I thought Colin looked like he was just coming off a seven city run of Beauty & the Beast in which he'd played Gaston and to which he'd failed to return his costume.
You are definitely one of my favorite reactors. I love Bridgerton, any period piece with drama and sex is my jam. I will say your other reactions have gotten me into shows I would've not considered. Thank you for all that you do.
Frannie is a sweet baby and we love her. Her story needs setup, it won't happen this season, it will most likely be after both Benedict and Eloise. She is portrayed in the books as very different from her siblings, introverted, and wanting to marry so she can leave the house. In other words she loves her siblings deeply, but in small doses. In the show, I think they're trying to portray her as slightly neurodivergent. My son has SPD, and he doesn't like crowds or noise and is easily overwhelmed. And then she gets obsessive and super focused on things she loves. I think she's got a little SPD and maybe some OCD.
Colin doesn’t have two ladies on the side. He's going to the brothel like every other bachelor at the time. In his journal, he talks about intimacy with his female escapades, but that it also feels distant to him.
About Francesca.... a Lady these days had only one purpose, I might say, and this is to get married. They could't live a life alone. The men did rule everything. So she is very shy and introvert. She doesn't want all the attention that's all. Beeing the diamand of the season will not make it better. For Collin.... you can see that he fell in love after the kiss. He didn't expect it... he will need a moment to process all the feelings now... for sure... The author of the books had an agreement that every pairing from the book will end up togehter... so we know Colin and Penelope will have their happy ending.... but I'm afraid there will be so much more drama in the show. The book is softer and much nicer. The actors did a great job. I believe in Colins and Penelopes feelings. And the kiss was perfect. It was a scene from the book as it was the moment with the diary situation. In the book Colin writes about the landscapes etc.... I would have prefere that for Penelope to read. I believe this has been disproven. Julia Quinn has stated she’s open to the show making changes to the pairings, including introducing lgbtq+ couples into the show. So it’s possible they may make some changes to future couples
A ton of gossip has to not end up in Whistledown; people would probably assume Penelope was just beneath notice. Whistledown had no clue about Anthony and Kate last season and that would have been the scoop of the decade.
Watch the background when Eloise tells Cressida Penelope was at her house. The girl next to Cressida perks up and turns her head to listen. It's the same girl the others gather around for gossip after Cressida tells them she's got nothing to share and walks off. The same girl is also among the crowd gossiping when the rumors get to Pen and Colin.
Yeah the episodes this season are so freaking short they are only within 50m's.... 52m's....58m's long....freaking Season 1 and Season 2 had some 1 hour long episodes but they are doing Polin's season dirty of only making short episodes....I mean come the heck on here, are they going to have 1hour episodes in part 2 at all?!?!?!?! It's freaking bugging me! I mean what of Polin?!?!?!?! They are doing this season so dirty, it's not fair!

Pen literally saved her life. Eloise was headed straight execution for treason on that path she was going down. And that is exactly what Pen was trying to explain to her after Eloise trashed her room.

The monarch could not just have someone executed at this time; Charlotte was not (and never was) the monarch; from what we know of Charlotte, she was not a person who would hire a hitman to take out a gossip columnist, despite any jokes she might make. Lady Whistledown was doubtless annoying to her but the Queen's threat was to expose her identity to the ton, who would be unforgiving, unless she agreed to work with the Queen. Penelope neither literally nor figuratively saved Eloise's life. You can like Penelope. You can feel she's totally justified. (Clearly, I don't.) But please try to be more accurate about what was at stake and what was lost.
