Very nice. One tip, the 18:1 and 24:1 ratios tend to allow surface scuffs. The 12:1 seems to be the most durable ratio overall. Again, very nice work.
Thanks for the tip! Seen a lot of your videos and will definitely try that out going forward
@@adampaganelli4891 Glad to help.
@@adampaganelli4891 Doesn't this make the colors more glossy?
Just saw this and and you did an amazing job on these parts! Yes I would definitely say stick with the Cerakote and the colors that you chose look great!
One of the more detailed video on working the process in cerakoting. Myself and another combat vet will be starting up a Cerakoting and Kydex shop very soon and my love for riding dirt bikes in my past which will never happen in my lifetime as 80% of cervical and lower back are history but again watching your work on the parts and you working the process was great.
I really like the black against the grey. That particular grey is gorgeous dude! Another job well done there.
Looks awesome man! Great job applying!
finally someone that puts the tracks used in the dis, nice work to bro
I trust someone's recommendations when they are as detailed & careful as you. Excellent job, thanks!
Very smooth looking. Ive been following your build videos on this cr250 and absolutely cant wait to see the finished project. Also really enjoy your work and the way you film and explain things, way better than most guys on here. Someone get this man his own show
Appreciate that very much! Will keep the videos coming for you man!
Wow, nice job. Good vid, thank you. Cerakote for sure.
This is one of the better vids I've seen on proper setup, ratio mixtures ie:satin, matte, gloss, with 12:1 being glossiest. You can also gain more points on the gloss index by coating then going straight into the oven versus ambient cure. I would also suggest hanging your parts vertical then from top to bottom angled at a 35degree downward then upward motion, spray in an octagonal rotation versus circular coating twice. On your second rotation if you originally started at the top, then your second run start from the bottom. The reason why is your looking to hit all areas within a 1-2mil thickness, Cerakote doesn't stick to anything which is why you need to take things down to substrate, it wont stick to itself once past the 1-2 mil recommendation which is where you will start getting chipping and cracking. Overall pretty good and accurate informational vid ;)
excellent job! Those parts look great.
Big gun person getting into cerakote and came by to check out your video. Excellent job brother
Awesome job man. Thanks for all the details.
Thanks man! No problem!
Thanks for making this video. Best explanation of mixing cerakote ratio I've seen. Does this example always work out? Take the amount of cerakote you pour out divided by the ratio you desire to give you the catalyst amount?
Use a hand impact driver that you hit with a hammer, it removes easily stripped (like carb bolts) and stripped bolts out.
Dope video!
Really digging that gray
Thanks man, they contrast well!
Love all the direct quotes straight off the Cerakote website
You can take it a step further and remove all casting lines and smooth out the rough casted texture. If you are weight conscious there is quite a bit of material that can be removed from the caliper by machining a slot in the back portion. The caliper to axle bracket can be relieved of material as well in the thin middle section.
Nice job!
Killin it man I needed this video for sure 🤘🏻
Appreciate it, ready to see that 85 together;)
Power Sports Builds ME TOO 😂 new video should be up in a few days. 🤙
Looking good can’t wait for more feature videos
Thanks man, just want to get this bike together lol
Thanks bro
Great video ! What is the shelf life of unmixed catylist and paint ?
Great vid man
Thanks man!
Great video man
Thank you!
looks the Nuts mate 👍
I curious you didn’t have to remove the level glass from the master cylinders?
I would of done a semi gloss on the black. But nice job 👏
Please tell me where you get one of those metal trays you are using to disassemble the parts?
What about the colors that require a filter for the spray gun? What would you use to filter it?
Nice!
I like the metalic look to the powder coating better
Yeah that’s true, for some like brakes I prefer a more factory look. But you can’t beet powder coating
Get yourself a JIS screwdriver for the master cylinder screw's.
Adam what air compressor your using with that air brush set up?
Is it possible to over coat and already cerakoted item with a different colour or does it havebto be stripped off 🤔 cheers
@AdamPaganelli what size compressor are you using? What is your pressure in the gun? LIke whats the whole compressor set up and PSI youre using when blasting?
喷砂处理后,微波炉多少度?烤多长时间?为什么要用微波炉烤?
Where did you get that buffer wheel?
Will cerakote come off if brake fluid is is left on there ?
Hello friend, I speak from Brazil. I would like to know the dimension of the tip you used in the airbrush 0.3, 0.5, 0.7 mm? What pressure range did you use on the compressor?15 - 20 psi?
Great video. Very informative. 👍🏻. What’s the process for the window in the mast cylinders ??
Thank you! I tape them up and leave them, you can weld the hole up but in my opinion it wasn’t worth the time
You have the link to the wheel please
I HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS, LOOKS GREAT BY THE WAY , ONE CAN YOU RE - USE THE ACETONE AFTER YOU SOAK, 2 I MIXED 18:1 AND SOMETIMES IT IS TO MUCH PAINT HOW COULD I MIX HALF THAT AND BE CORRECT, THANKS FOR THE HELP TO AND NICE JOB WOULD LOVE TO SEND YOU SOME PIC'S OF THE THINGS I HAVE DONE I AM NEW TO IT AND JUST WANT TO GET BETTER THANKS AGAIN
You can do 12-1
Definitely prefer the look of the Cerakote over powder coating. I like the finish it provides while still maintaining the texture of the part that it is painted on. Also, is it possible to add like another coat of Cerakote for more robust finish?
You can do more then one coat but there is a certain way you have to do it. The instructions are detailed on cerakotes website
Between watching you and Cameron over the last year I've finally got myself into a hefty heap of a build. Cerakote is my next step, however I think the only place I've possibly gone wrong is purchasing the larger, Harbor Freight Central Pneumatic spray gun. Just looking for an opinion on that before moving forward. Also would you recommend buying the small 4oz sizes or the pints? I don't think I'm going to do my engine cases, however I definitely have a bunch of the typical parts I wanna do such as the brakes, trans case, triple clamps, etc. I just had a hard time figuring that out watching the video. Thanks for any help and all of the great work man you're awesome, stoked to see where you go with Jeff's engine
It’s not really the capacity of the gun that’s important it’s more the size of the spray tip. You want a .8 size tip
Awesome thanks! Also I’m just noticing it says the majority of the colors in the H-series require their mesh strainer did you use that or have issues otherwise?
Adam what did you do with the plastic viewing glass and the plastic separator in the front master cylinder? Did the oven melt them? It looked like you left them in during the video?
Thanks!
You can leave them in place but they can yellow.
And what was the total cost of material used? Not including the equipment used
Hi. 6:23. Time what minute ?? C° what ???
Wat kind of parts washer is that u hav bro? I hav never seen one with cleaning solvent that looked like dish soap suds and bubbles!!! Just curious!!! Thx!!!
Harbor freight with Costco oil water or simple green is what I use
You're lucky to have access to all that equipment. I'd Cerakote the shit outta all my car parts if I had a setup like that.
I believe they recommend more of a degrease. Like soak overnight
No need to remove the sight glass for cerakote?
No, just mask it with a couple layers of high heat masking tape prior to sandblasting and gassing out
@@adampaganelli4891 Thanks bud!
sadly we cant buy Cerakote here in Denmark for personal use .. have to pay some shop TO MUCH to coat these :-s
Where did you get the adapter for the air brush line to the air compressor line?? Thanks.
Eastwood.com it’s an in-line air filter
I GOT ONE FROM ACE, FOR A 1/8 AIR BRUSH AND A KIT FROM AMAZON FOR 9$ WORKED GREAT, NO ISSUES
Why would you use cerakote on parts that are not going to see elevated heat ranges? I would think powder coat would be best on them parts.
What does elevated heat ranges have to do with cerakote? Every factory powder coated piece of aluminum I have has chipped and flaked.
Low volume low pressure (lvlp)
Lvlp does not mean low velocity low pressure. Lvlp standsfor low volume low pressure... otherwise great video
Cameron Niemela 2? find your own style!
HEY MAN CAMERON DID IT TO TEACH PEOPLE AS WELL WHY YOU GOT TO HATE ON THE GUY MAN SEEMS YOU ARE WATCHING AS WELL
Is there any way to strip it off the Cerakote Clear (Aluminum) MC-5100 if you mess it up?
