@@MorganNye 3 years late but I did a bit of research, even just using this episode's date, the first time the MDW was on WOF USA was on 9/8/08, replacing the $10,000 wedge.
I'll bet that the introduction of the Million Dollar Wedge in our version was partly inspired by this show, so it wouldn't surprise me if Harry Friedman or one of the other higher ups had seen some of this during it's brief ill fated run and then decided to introduce said element in the then upcoming Season 26 which started taping just a month after Million Dollar Wheel bit the dust.
That host snatched the Million Dollar Wedge off him when Mark Walton's challenger Andrew Perry spun up a Bankrupt. Lauren Payne gave sympathy to him. Which left Mark Walton to get the job done and put the worst behind him.
Can't believe he blew it. At first I thought it was "Terms of Endearment" until the R dropped into the first letter position in the first word. Then I had it. The worst part is he was able to work out the first word.
I'm from Australia, but US is definitely a lot more better. For example, if you land on $600 wedge and guess the correct letter which is T if there are five of them, you would get $3,000 - travelling. If a person who solves the puzzle and win how much money you have and others who have their money, their money will be wiped out and they'll lose... IF there's enough chance for them to solve the puzzle during the next round. I used to enjoy the Aussie WOF, but it's nothing. They don't travel our monies which isn't fair!
I'm from the US, and I agree with you. Though, I wish our Version adopted more things from your Version, in addition to all that you mentioned (besides the Million Dollar Wedge). Because as it stands, Our Version is kind of getting stale year after year.
The original version (from our Seven network) was more comparable to the US in that respect. This look (from our Nine network) was similar to a lot of the cheaper European versions at the time, and needless to say it didn't catch on But the rules were no different to the original Seven version, apart from the red "lucky" letter appearing every round rather than once an episode This of course meant no stacking of letter money - a relic of our TV stations being fairly strapped for cash in the 80s and 90s in particular - but also that unsecured cash didn't get flushed out until the very end (hence why one player still had $740 showing at the start of round 3, circa 13:00), one nuance that is unusual as far as WoF licences go. Same with the bonus round, which kept the "2 consonants, 1 vowel, and 1 extra consonant for every $2000 in the bank" format.
I like this version of wheel of fortune because of the wheel, the MILLION, and more things, Dislike cuz multiple letters don't stack/ give more of the value.
Half the show is taken up by waiting for the wheel to stop. It seems to turn for ages and gets annoying very quickly. The UK and US wheels stop sooner than this one.
Bring the Australia million dollar wheel of fortune on our television
I remember watching this on TV in my mum's house in 2008. I was only six back then!
Although this show was cancelled in AU, the Million Dollar Prize was eventually adapted on the US Nighttime Pat/Vanna version.
The million dollar wedge on us wheel, actually originated from Aus wheel million dollar?

@@gameshowman1234 See I always knew that!
I just wish there was a soundtrack for this show, that way anybody can listen to the music heard from this show.

i love the celebrity episode
14:10 Major pain.

The logo looks like Aligfian Wheel of Fortune. For 1 full hour.

Oh and in the bonus round of our version, I wish if he would've had RSTLNE to put them then he should let him/her give him 3 consonants and 1 vowel.

22:17 Title: Rules of Engagement for $200,000 which he blew
Please don’t ruin the show for those who haven’t seen it. There’s no need.
This WOF set from Australia is so tiny compared to the US counterpart.

Yes! It annoyed the crap out of me
Is nice
L and e were better choices rubbish choice was dpa
Good grief did they run out of on set budget? It's looks all plastic and fake.
Adriana Xnedies didn’t like the show at all. Rated poorly and the format was axed in late June 2008 after just 5 weeks on air
