That first arpeggio of C#m7 is just incredible, not usual in chopin's music.

What a tone he creates. I wish I were there in that concert hall, a venue in which Eric stopped time from flowing for 8 minutes.

The way he played the end creates such a sense of longing. Like no please don't go.

My favorite performer from that competition. Eric's playing captures the essence and soul of Chopin in a way nit even the first place winner Cho could do (who was also phenomenal)

Wow! Chopin, Lu and Yamaha are cooperating quite perfectly!

    筆舌に尽くし難い美しさ。指が鍵盤に沈んでゆく美しいタッチに見とれてしまう。YAMAHAを弾いてくれてありがとう。こんなに遅くても全く飽きることなく聞いていられる。感動した。
no words can convey such a moving music and his performance. thank you for your love for Chopin.

How can such a young person have such deep interpretation of this soulful music?

I felt a wonderful exposition of the soul of Chopin roaming like no interpreter is involved...

Nocturne in B major Op. 62 No. 1 is one of my least favorite Chopin nocturnes but Eric Lu transforms it altogether into something impassioned, gorgeous. His touch is impeccable. Much better than Claudio Arrau's rendition, imho.

It's as if he dwells inside the music, hearing all the subtle nuances, the inner voices. And at the same time he's outside it, in control so he can share it with us. I had an image of when Chopin heard Karl Filtsch play and knew that the young man would wear his mantle and present his music with purity and authenticity. I think Eric Lu is this generation's Karl Filtsch. This was almost unbearably moving.
