I wonder what difference that 1m resistor in the trem circuit would make. I've built a couple of these and the trem circuit is really pulsy, and the throb breaks through on tickover quite badly, though it's easily fixed with a diode over the outer lugs on the intensity pot. Was the 220r on the schmematic a misprint?
