I just noticed, that little exchange at 1:01 to 1:06, Mitchum is using some sort of double action instead of the single action he's seen using in the rest of the film. When Cole and him walk out, he's back to holding a single action revolver.
I have got this movie DVD of John Wayne Robert Mitchum James Caan and Ed Asner in El Dorado I am dedicating this movie DVD to my old school friends who are both sisters as I hope to see them both again very soon to Chris and Hester from Billyxxxx
Great film, still got it on a video from when it was on TV years ago. As long as my video player keeps working... Has anyone come across a free version of Rachel and the Stranger, starring William Holden?
Mississippi should have run down the feller limping & threw his knife instead of using the scatter gun as he was more accurate with the knife, lol, & he surely should be able to get close as that feller had a limp.
There are similarities because this film and the television series were scored by the same person - Nelson Riddle. But, no - he didn't recycle his Batman music for this film. He just had a distinctive sound, especially in how he used brass instruments. Best wishes from Vermont 🍁
John Wayne was pretty Funny In this movie. He at this point think had done North To Alaska and McClintock which were funnier films. He was limping when he got here and You should know you missed him and the whole Mississippi making the sober cure had Wayne acting with comedy come backs you normally didnt see in Rio Bravo or Red River
Yeah, i can't figure out how someone can throw a knife that accurate, even though a short distance, but miss somebody wirh a doulbe barrel sawwed of shotgun firing 2 rounds( 9 , .30 caliber pellets each shell & 2 = 18 on a 12 gauge) at that distance, which would have spread appx. 8 ft. Wide, & miss, lol
Mississippi, he ought to aim low, about at the knees cause he is anticipating the recoil & that way he'd hit them in the upper torso. There are 9, .30 caliber round ball shots in each of those 12 gauge shells = 18, can't miss with the spread of a sawwed off shotgun at that range & that would do the job.
Some of the best acting ever. So many memories.
God I'm getting old.
.
Loved the movie! My absolute favorite!
Stunt men and women back in the day earned their money
I just love those synchronized shots from Mitchum and the Duke.
One of the Duke's funniest lines , Mississippi said he was limping when he left , Duke says he was limping when he got here , lol
Love John Wayne
I saw it last night.
What a movie, folks

"Just who are you, anyway??"
Mitchum asks Caan that every time he starts to sober up!
Robert Mitchum - "Just who in the Hell are you!" - Great movie and cast.
no wonder he carries a knife
I have got this movie DVD of
John Wayne Robert Mitchum
James Caan and Ed Asner in
El Dorado

0:49 *"WATCH 'AT OTHER DOOR!!!"* 😂😂😂
Love Robert Mitchums shirt. Must have borrowed it from Otis of Mayberry.
One of the finest gunfights in cinematic history.
Great film, still got it on a video from when it was on TV years ago. As long as my video player keeps working... Has anyone come across a free version of Rachel and the Stranger, starring William Holden?
This was Mitchum's finest acting, if you ask me.
He was also very good in River Of No Return with Marylin Monroe.
I don't know who he was but his face rings a bell.
Saw this in France dubbed with that French lingo while drinken a French margarita and a French burger but no fries

Wouldn't have been as funny and would have eliminated the barroom scene. No logic allowed in westerns.
Bull running and saying, "I heard a noise!" cracks me up
2:32 When the Duke goes to reload Mitchum's gun for him. Always cracks me up.
Great part from a great movie!
With a great star
Beth Malley My Favorite Western Movie Of All Time
Bull Says, "If You Give Me, Another Gun,I'll Play Marching to Georgia!"
Let's make a little music, Colora.....uuuhh, Mississippi.
What's the name of the movie
Good movie, but imo Arthur Honeycutt (Bull) was the one to make it so. One of the best character actors there ever was.
Always wondered why they used the music from the Batman tv show in this movie. Watch the scene as they make their way up to the church.
It fits pretty well.

Wayne’s out of breath to fast 100 cigarettes
Takes a lot of talent to miss with a double barreled shotgun,at close range

“He was limping when he got here!”
What movie is that?
El Dorado (1966)
@@mortytheorgre1500 thanks
James Caan is one of my favorite actors...just now realized he's Mississippi. Duh.
Anyone notice the problem with this clip, dark out side but when looking up at bells from inside was light outside
Never really noticed that before...guess that's the "magic of Hollywood" 👍
Al Dorado
Very nice movies ٠٠٠
That is one nifty sawed off Ole Miss had.
Bet that the previous owner never got a AOW or Destructive Device stamp for it.

The other fella was wearing plot armor.
He didn’t miss.
He hit the sign and the sign hit the guy running 😂😂😂
" I heard a noise "???
Top Film 👍
Me gusta la versión con Dean martin
