I feel the same, everybody is so lifeless and frustratingly predictable these days. In 26,000 commercials today I couldn't spot one that I liked but, pre-"equality" pre-"trans" and pre-"4th wave feminism" I can find 1/3 commercials that make me feel an actual human emotion.

These commercials surprisingly are better than anything being produced today. Get tired of watching modern shows with nothing, but heavy-handed political messaging.

Verizon commercial is a real interesting one. People sitting at a table talking to each other and using a cell phone to make actual calls and exploring text messaging. By comparison today, you have your tricorder setting up your living room at virtually everyplace you go.

I feel like every generation THOUGHT that they peaked during their time.... but truly, civilization seems to have peaked in the late 90's early 2000's. Music hit a point that it hasn't evolved past since, same with any media really. Technology as well, with UI's hitting a common ground back then, and staying with it ever since. Sure, chips get smaller and more efficient, but interface has remained the same since that specific time. Where as beforehand all of these things and more would change rapidly... Look at music from the 1910s to 20s, then 20's to 30's, 30's to 40's, and so on... Drastic and rapid changes in all things media, all things social, all things topical, all things technology, all things automotive, if not all things generally speaking. Yet, since the late 90s early 00s, it's been the same. ANY of these commercials would fit in just fine today... though, with that said of course some of the information portrayed has evolved... we do still have that occurring. As well as our intake methods, here on YT for example, rather than watching actual broadcast or cable TV. Heck, I haven't done that in years... I don't even use NF or Hulu as much as I do YT. Even use YTmusic for all of my in car and at home, or on the go via phone, music needs. That is indeed another way that we've evolved... but as far as the presentation of what we are taking in, how it sounds, looks, what is contains.... that has hit a point it seems. A point that really can't go any further. . .

The problem is All these celebrities and movie plus tV writers want to get political with their shows and movies instead of telling a story or telling people even if a song is trash you need to be accepting of the song like no thank you.
