Max Payne is a classic case of accomplishing so much with so little. It's a seriously good looking gaming despite the hardware limitations at the time. There are tons of games from that period of time where developers were pushing things to their limits. People who weren't around for gaming in the 80s and 90s can't appreciate the degree to which hardware dictated what kinds of games you could make and the degree to which developers had to find workarounds to make things work and be believable. I think there's something to be said about games that are born of a limited tool set. I love the aesthetic of the games from between 2001-2004. I grew up with Atari and NES but I come back to games from this time period the most. It was most definitely a golden age of gaming.
Deepest apologies for late reply but that makes me so happy to hear. You must’ve also had a good gaming childhood 💯💯💯 if you got any suggestions to do a video on next I’m all ears 👍
@@maltsutty I recommend playing the single player campaign of Warcraft 3, that was another one of my childhood games! Although it is RTS-focused, so it might not be your cup of tea!
Thanks for watching and commenting friend !!! Glad you enjoyed my take on the groundbreaking classic known as Max Payne 🔥🤘💯💪🙏 I would say if you have the ability you should play it on PC. It controls better and the mods for this game are some of the best I’ve ever seen. One matrix mod specifically called “matrixed reality” was so good you could beat the entire game with the kung fu moves they added and you could even do the Super Neo Limbo move from the movie . They even recreated the famous lobby shootout ….. definitely worth checking out and thanks again for checking out the video it’s much appreciated 💪🙏💯🔥🤘
The games that should be played are Max payne 1,2 Freedom Fighters. Hitman Contacts and blood money, Gta Vice City San Andreas. Nfs most 2005. Carbon. Halo ce and 2.
You have fantastic taste in games bruv, I have played and loved all those (minus nfs carbon somehow I missed that one) so I can fully support that opinion 🤘💯🙏🔥 may I ask if you enjoyed MANHUNT ??? Ps Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
I grew up playing this except my dad would STRICTLY only play 1st person games like doom and quake but he did admit it looked super cool and stylish so he would occasionally watch me play it . Love those classic max Payne memories. And ya I might play it again before the remakes come out !

Max Payne 1 and 2 were such poetic games. I remember being sucked into that story as a budding young lad with a crush on Mona Sax, hoping that Max would finally be with her and find himself again 😂 good video!

Funny how you played some MCR during that painkiller segment I have fond memories of blasting that album when I finally got a PC capable of playing these games in the mid 00s. The console ports were pretty damn sub par and I had suffered through playing them on release and had to wait like 4 years before I could play Max Payne 1&2 as intended.
I just played it for the first time this year. I put together a vintage PC running Windows 2000, and I went looking for a game that I could play on it. It's a tough game! I've played it completion several times now, but even though I've unlocked the higher difficulty settings, I'm fine on normal. I've read that the version on Steam has issue with high framerates making it difficult to complete jumps, but that's not a problem when playing it on period hardware.
Absolutely . I played original on pc when it came out , and the ps2 version- this ps4/5 version on PSN is the footage here and yes you get the whole Max Payne experience and despite a few frame chugs here and there the game plays and controls well enough for a basic modern port. As mentioned in the video , playing on ps5 is a great time and the only thing I had to adjust to was the touchy strafing but the slow mo helps a lot with that. Lemme know if you give it a try, you will love it!
You used Lil Wyte - Oxycotton in the video bro growing up i thought i was the only one to bump his shit. I hit subscribe the moment that song started playing 😂
I prefer the ps2 version to the Xbox version. Both have their benefits and downfalls but I think ps2 version came out better since it wasn’t laggy as hell in the later chapters. It might just because my Xbox disc didn’t work well on my 360, and I played the ps2 version on ps4. I’d say the worst version is the mobile, super easy on fugitive but super hard on hard boiled and Dead on Arrival
Yes absolutely besides even for some years when we get no rockstar games we always play rockstar games grand theft auto red dead redemption and max payne all the best rockstar games Also I played rockstar games in 2015 2016 and 2020 when none released those years Every year is a year to play any type of games especially naughty dog especially since they have a lot in common with rockstar

2001 really was stacked
Imagine If DNF 2001 came out. Half Life 2 wouldn't be as important if it did
Imagine how much DNF 2001 could have changed the industry if they delivered on what the trailers promised !!!!

Maybe i am missing context but rd2 needs to be in every list
And a ac title like II - brotherhood and unity
Let’s just throw Halo 3 in there and we’re square.
half life 1-2 and its episodes, F.E.A.R, stalker and metro are very much worth it too
