    Miquella was attempting to break his curse because as an eternal child he's powerful enough to challenge the outer gods control over people what about an adult Miquella how powerful would he be

    • @kabvrv
      @kabvrv  10 месяцев назад

      Hmm I've been thinking Malenia is the most powerful but that is a really good point. An adult Miquella...

      @@kabvrv Malenia literally fights for Miquellas right to godhood, not her own, despite both being empyrians. In battle prowess, Malenia is most likely stronger, but in totality, Miquella seems far stronger. Malenia choosing to fight for her brother is evidence enough of how "powerful" Miquella truly is.

    I personally think the use of pure gold goes back to the alchemy idea since out of the seven alchemical elements, gold is the one that represents perfection of all matter at every level. Also since it actively prevents rot, it could also reference the Albedo stage of the Magnum Opus, where impurities are washed away after the Nigredo stage, which is when things are decomposing like the rot which would apply to Malenia’s whole situation. I guess you can apply the the other stages as well. Citrinas could be represented by the light of the Halingtree soldiers and Rubedo maybe represented by Mohg trying to bring Miquella to godhood as well.

      Once again, I appreciate your insightful comments. You give me a lot to think and learn about.

    I think Miquella represents stunted growth: if Malenia is afflicted with a disease that is eating her from within, Miquella is afflicted with a condition where he can never grow to his full potential, which both still fit into the incestuous nature of their births (as much as 'eternal youth' can be viewed as weird magic, it can also be compared to dwarfism or growth deficiencies that real adults suffer from)

      I do think about GRRM and the other writers, and what inspires the stories and characters. There's probably a million things that it could be based on but often they are just real things in life.

      As someone who writes a lot of fantasy, sometimes it's based on things you're not even _aware_ you're taking inspiration from at first, which can be pretty wild, but it's always fascinating when there's parallels to be drawn between supernatural fantasy and real life. I almost see it like an exaggeration to emphasise a theme, like how giving a character superpowers can draw attention to certain parts of their personality.

    If you're looking for more Elden Ring Lore videos I can't recommend "Tarnished Archaelogist" enough. His videos relate real world histories and natural phenomena to speculate about the in game events they inspired. Though a fair amount of his theories are just speculation there is a ton that just makes sense and fleshes out the world of Elden Ring. If you're interested I'd recommend "The secret of the Erdtree's first burn" and my personal favourite "The secret story behind the Crucible" but watching all of his lore videos in order will present a better structured story.

      Thanks for the recommendation, others have recommended Tarnished Archaeologist as well. I love the idea of comparing the Lord to real history.

    Liking the Frenzied Flame ending is crazy talk. I'm sure you've learned since, but just in case: That ending means the literal end of the world. We don't destroy what's there and rebuild afterwards (which is what Ranni's ending is generally about), we start the process of ending reality itself, where all is one. No births, no suffering, no life, no death. If we could somehow explore this in its final form, it'd probably be whatever our real world was before the Big Bang, but with such an event never happening to form a new reality.

    • @kabvrv
      @kabvrv  5 месяцев назад

      Yes, yes. I know. Maybe it is crazy talk but I still like the ending for some reason. Like, things are so bad the only solution is this over the top death of everything. Certainly that is crazy, but I just like how wild it is. I did expect that it meant something could be built back from the ash. I probably wouldn't have been so positive about it if I would have realized that was not going to happen when I made the video.

    my brain blast about the wandering mausoleums is this: they put Godwyn to rest in the erdtree roots as was custom, especially considering he was crown prince... and they they realized that they made a huge mistake in doing so. Because Godwyn was dead only in soul, and he CLEARLY started mutating and poisoning the Erdtree. Everyone probably looked at what was happening with Godwyn and realized, oh shit, we can't put demigods to rest in the erd tree. We HAVE to do damage control and create different burial rites for them, and plan in advance. we can't afford to have more poison in the erd tree. I bet there was also an effort to try and undo the damage godwyn was doing to the erdtree but it was too late and they gave up.
    In essence, the mausoleums are /*containment*/. They're biohazard control.
    Also, it puts the location and purpose of the halitgree in a new light. It's a new erd tree, far away from the contaminated great tree roots.

      Interesting... That makes a lot of sense actually. I've always liked the comparison of how both Godwyn and Miquella seemed to modify an Erdtree with their body/blood.

    I find it interesting that Miquella is the only male Empyrean and he just so happens to possibly have a female alter ego.

    • @kabvrv
      @kabvrv  10 месяцев назад +3

      Interesting, maybe not unexpected though. Elden Ring obviously has lots of female main characters and gender is loose (Marika/Radagon)

    So I know Tarnished Archeologist and Smoughtown have already come up as recommendations, but another channel worth checking out is Hawkshaw. He tends to dive deep into the philosophical side of the lore and covers more obscure topics. He has a video called "Color Theory of Elden Ring" that is amazing that I would recommend starting with, but it's also 2 hours long, so it's up to you, lol.

    That was a good one, I did watch it a long time ago and I haven`t played ER from well ... the start of summer, so it was good to refresh my lore knowledge, I did like your comments around minute 10 but I have forgotten them already since its a long vid, anyways good and I do hope that you do not give up before the prepare to cry videos, the fact that you called the endings very similar except the Lord of Frenzied Flame and Age of stars, makes me want to recommend them again :D as there is more that you do not know yet.

    Countering you comment about Goldmask here. While it is true his faith was put into question he never breaks his belief in fundamentalism and his quest-line actually works to fix the flaws inherent in the system in accordance to his faith. The very existence of Radagon goes against the belief that Marika is the one true god, so his investigation of his identity and creation of the Mending Rune of Perfect Order is all in service to his fundamentalist beliefs.

    • @kabvrv
      @kabvrv  10 месяцев назад +1

      Good point. I suppose I was thinking that, as a fundamentalist, he would stick to his ideology no matter what new information is found, and that his journey seeking the truth doesn't necessarily follow a fundamentalist path of closed eyes. If he didn't hold the rune of mending I may argue more, but I think the fact that he is that one with it solidifies your point.

    40:11 i never actually found him that hard. The banished knights are not much of a threat once you learn their patterns and niall himself is just an AOE spamming tank.

      That's actually one thing I love about all from soft games. There are bosses that I one shot and find super easy that I later find out are considered extremely difficult. There are also bosses that I died to 10 times that most people think are pushovers. I think a lot of it has to do with play style and clearly my play style did not work for him!

    If you do get into Berserk I highly recommend reading it instead of watching it. The adaptations of the prequel arcs are decent but I legitimately have vision problems from how the later arcs are animated and they’re really low quality. They haven’t gotten that far either and a lot of the stuff these games take from Berserk are from chapters that have not even been touched on in the anime’s.

    I feel like Miquella is a Griffith type of character think about it why would he made bewitching item if he was already beloved by all and Malenia call him the fearsome empyrean yet item description about him seems otherwise. I don’t know but something feels off about him since this guy sounds too benevolent but after Mohg and what we did to his sister not anymore.

    • @kabvrv
      @kabvrv  10 месяцев назад +1

      Or even further, is he beloved by all BECAUSE of the bewitching ability? Just out here making everyone love him at the tree of rot. Kind of scary.

      Makes sense... Although we find it hard to dislike children because they are naive, but he is just in a child's body, right?

    Fire and pure gold can ward off the rot for some reason is still questionable ngl.. what the cocoon make of that could halt the rebirth process?.. all the more, i can't wait for Vaati to explain in upcoming DLC!. 👍
