I made a trip out to the Stringers District near the Randsburg mountains and close to the famous Yellow Aster mine. Lots of geology and a little bit of dry washing and gold

Some local geology in the area:
Granodiorite
Quartz Monzonite
Schist
Gneiss
Gossan
Rhyolite
Basalt
A few more famous mines in the same area we explored:
-American Gold and Tungsten Co.-
www.mindat.org...
Mineralization is hosted in quartz monzonite. Local alteration includes pyritization, sericitization and the veins exhibit signs of carbonatization.
Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 50.29 meters and comprised of the Top Notch shaft, inclined at 38 degrees N.
Another shallow, inclined shaft was sunk on a vein 150 feet N of the Top Notch. Several other shafts were sunk on another vein that strikes N32Wa
and dips 40 to 60NE.
-Oneill Shafts-
www.mindat.org...
Mineralization is hosted in quartz monzonite. The ore body strikes W and dips moderately N. Controls for ore emplacement included faults.
Faults. A W-bearing vein was found in the Gardner shaft, several tens of feet NW of the O'Neill shafts. The veins are exposed about 1,500 feet E
of the O'Neill shafts.
Workings include underground openings. Several shafts and prospect pits existed in 1916. The principal shafts, the O'Neill shafts, are 60 feet apart.
They extend 50 feet to the base of the alluvium, then 20 feet to an intermediate level, then to a lower level at an undetermined depth.
The lower level extends 195 feet N and 110 feet SE. The Sun shaft is 127 feet in alluvium, then 48 feet in bedrock with a crosscut at the bottom.
Dude Ibe been wanting to go there I'm stoked looking at all the mineralization
Randsburg is my Hometown ❤️
You what? You were at Rand mountains? I got kicked out of there many years ago by security with guns. Maybe you were on the outskirts. Those quartz vein outcrops is where to look like you are. I used to go out all over the California desert areas with my gun in my holster. Now I probably get into trouble doing that. You got a great channel. Brings back memories for me.
Oh yeah we go all over that area. I imagine if you get too close to Yellow Aster mine they'll come chase you down. But I've never had any problems out there. My buddy is part of OC 49'ers club right there. Never really seen anyone with guns around there.... yet :/
Love that shop! I need to get back in there again soon. Maybe bring my son. Looks like he has upgraded a bit since the last time I was there.
It is difficult to tell on the vid but that white stuff on the first set of workings could be salt leeching from the soil. Enjoyed the vid, looks like it was a fun trip and you got some shiny!
Late reply's all around lol my bad. Yeah he has a ton a of cool stuff to look at and he's full of cool stories. You may be on to something about that salt too!
gneiss is a metamorphic
Gasoline? California?
How do you not know this is someone's mining claim? Do you check
Yes, it's always a good idea to check if an area is private property or a gold claim. When it comes to actual gold claims and their properties it's difficult to really pinpoint things without a lot of research. So the easiest way is to just join gold clubs. I'm a member of GPAA, PCSC, TAFT and I have friends in the OC 49'ERS. Each club has designated areas that are known gold areas and there are usually GPS coordinates and boundaries for each area. BLM land is fair game :)
@@HereIsWhereWeAre right the reason I said something because i own gold mining claim out there in Rands District and it would not be good to be in somewhere claim. its alot easier to check with Diggings before you start taking samples
Are you interested in selling your claim? Do you know anyone interested in selling a private claim in that area?
Butt Crack Ghost Girlz btw....? lmao..... I don't know which one to click on first
@@HereIsWhereWeAre ha ha you will see my mine in March buttcrack miners . Its 20.44 acres
@@HereIsWhereWeAre my mine is on the Garlock mountain fyi. I show some of it in my pill box video butt crack sister so dam funny
I heard you can make over $6 an hour just shoveling dirt.
Which claim were you digging? And did you have proper access to that claim? The OC 49ers do have 4 claims in the Randsburg district, but I don't recognize that you were digging on either of their claims.
"if it aint marked very well then who cares, its the claim owners fault" - BLM told me a few years ago
digging where he wants. like it should be.
