But he only got to release 2 songs in all the time he was with YG, and ended up doing more work as an actor than an idol/rapper. From his and his friend's IG, it was obvious he spent a lot of time in the studio working on music, but I guess he wasn't allowed to release anything until he went independent.

I love that he's finally out showing the real him, wearing the clothes that he's comfortable with and making the music that he always wanted. When he was in YG he felt like a different person. It's not like the concept and the style (be it in dressing or music) doesnt suit him, it's just that it feels like it's not him. Now I'm glad he came back to his old self, like the carefree ONE I used to know in SMTM.
when i first heard that ONE ended his contract with 'that agency', i was really sad.
but after seeing this video, I just realized if at that time he did'nt leave, maybe until now I will never know who ONE really is.
ONE now is completely different from the image that has been built by his agency before, it turns out he has a free soul.

I have been looking at Jaewon (ONE) for a while and I'm so happy for the journey he has gone through to be able to be more comfortable and happy with where he's at. From OnePunch to SMTM 4, until now he had that cool chill free soul but always had to change to fit the standards or image a company wants or what Korean audiences generally accept, etc. I always saw him as a chill unique dude & the way he acts/ambiance in this video really is authentic. I'm glad he's able to show others how humble he is. He has tats, a grill, piercings and honestly is so genuine that he does things for himself....not what others want from him, that's why I like his crew because they are just as fly and I hope they can help keep him on the right track. Also, he looks so good in this video wheww
