- Severe Storm, hits after the Tornado Warning, lots of lightning, Heavy rain, some hail, high winds. July 29th, 2021 around 3:00 am in the morning. Racine, Wisconsin I hate making night time videos.
Yeah I had this the same time you did.
NWS in Sullivan said it didn't meet the parameters of a derecho. Heavy straight line winds can cause damage without being an actual derecho which has to cause widespread damage by at least 75 mph winds over 250 miles. Sorry.
All day the NWS as long with the NSSC (National Severe Storm Center) As well as local Television/radio were warning people of what was to coming and to get ready for the derecho!
Severe thunderstorm, yes..derecho no.
That tree on the right would be bending over in 75 mph winds if that was actually a derecho! 🙄
What you didn't see and I missed it on video, is the half of the Black Walnut tree fell to the ground, you could not see that because of it being dark, and three houses down some thing hit there roof and damaged it
