our teacher always wore something that although covers her entire body, her form still shows and it makes her look classy like those long sleeves and blackes with pants. She always looks professional but at the same time, really killing it with her outfits.
Yeah right like it's just me but like those outfits are even like that bad like sure they're showing the stomach and the one had short shorts,I don't know. I feel like they all were pretty acceptable
My math tea her is so pretty and has nice outfits. The only thing thats kinda risky is sometimes she wears tank tops but whenever she wears crop tops she has her sweater zipped up to cover her stomach
Why do we percive certain clothes as professional and others as not what is professionalism really. If you have the qualifications and you do your job does it really matter what you're wearing.
People in the comments are just immature children. In 10 years they’ll grow a few more brain cells/have kids of their own/enter a professional work setting and realize how dumb they sound.
I teach in South Korea and all those outfits actually fly here. With the first one, if you’re gonna wear a crop top, you have to wear it with high waisted bottoms but the super short skirt/shorts is super common here and isn’t seen as unprofessional. Basically, dress code depends on where you teach, the age group you teach, and your school’s dress code
My older sister was told that "you can't see up it, down it, or through it" when it came to clothes. It's honestly a rule I stick to when buying clothes too because it's easy, and kinda funny.
A teacher isn’t supposed to be centre of attention, they’re there to earn money and teach kids, you can impress kids with being a good teacher and making everyone pass and that’s impressive
I feel like they should still be allowed to wear what they want tho? Like, certain things such as the really short skirt are a definite no as it’s a relatively likely potential wardrobe malfunction, but crop top? I really don’t see the problem with that, as long as it isn’t like super high or anything. At the end of the day, showing shoulders or a bit of stomach or legs isn’t really that big of a deal.
Had a Math teacher who was also a Gym teacher for the last period. He said that the benefit of being the Gym teacher was he was allowed to wear shorts to school. He would wear shorts in math class. This was in high school, but I remember a lot of teachers in my middle school with shorts so idk.
Not as strict in my school the teachers are aloud to wear mainly any jewellery were only aloud stud earrings and we have a uniform the teachers don't they're aloud to wear makeup(sensibly) we're not they can wear dressed for summer
There’s a difference between being comfortable and being too casual. As a teacher it still is a professional environment and depending on the grades/ages dealt with there’s levels of it being questionable. In hs we had a teacher who tested the dress code limits all the time but she was also stupid hot so we weren’t exactly complaining😂
Everyday what is considered "professional" is changed. I personally thought that it was professional comfortable casual and professional enough for a school. I ain't ever gave to cares what my teachers were wearing as long as they had clothes. Clothes don't make you good/bad/professional. You do🤷🏾♀️
@@legacysdreamlife9021 the way you dress kinda does show some degree of professionalism.. in the classroom one should look presentable not attractive to direct the attention to the course material not the appealing outfit
Definitely don’t wear short skirts/dresses as a teacher. Cause if you’re gonna bend over to help a student at their desk another student can just look up your skirt. You don’t want young teens looking up your skirt. As for most of the fancy outfits it’s just honestly easier to dress in something comfortable because you’re gonna be walking around the classroom for several hours a day and wherever else you’ll need to go like to recess or hall monitoring or lunch duty. You’ll also be dealing with unruly students too.
You say that but a lot of these kids are f****** the teachers. the teachers are freaks. What do you think? Your son is sending the kitchen at 3:00 a.m. drinking coffee and whistling they fucking 😇
Younger teachers often get confused as students. I remember having a teacher who was in her late-20’s, and everyone thought she was a student because she was wearing jeans and ankle boots on a dress down day ( a day where teachers don’t have to dress professionally). Also, in most professional careers, you do have to follow a dress code. Being an educator is one of them, since your image influences the way how you are perceived by your students. I think a lot of people are confusing student dress codes with teacher dress codes. Your teacher is an adult who willingly chose to work at a place with a strict dress code; they should be able to abide by it. I can emphasize with students, because students cannot control where they attend school at and do not have a lot of authority with the dress code.
My art teacher was a younger male and would often dress pretty casually, I should also mention he was VERY christian, well one day I didn't notice this man literally sitting right next to me in class because I legit thought he was just a student and I happened to jokingly say something sexual to a friend because friends flirt like that and he just looks at me and says "I don't know what's going on between you two, but it needs to stop"
I’m in grad school and I saw a person sitting in my classroom alone who I didn’t recognize (it was a classroom meant for first year students). I asked if he was new and he said yes and introduced himself by his first name. He chatted and I said some not so appropriate but not inappropriate jokes. Some students and professors I did recognize came over and one said “this is our new faulty member…” and I wanted to return to my mothers uterus most expediently and I soon found way to exit. I would have been more careful if I had known the boundaries. He found it hilarious and talks to all students like we are counterparts since once we graduate will be. The next semester he taught my class diarrhea and constipation therapies of all things lol. He had just graduated from school and was less than 10 years older than most of the class including me.
Dress code isn’t tyranny. If you’re a teacher you should abide by the dress code. It’s about professionalism. Obviously you can be serious about a job in a lot of different styles but it really depends on the school you teach at. At the end of the day you’re job is to teach and it’d be kinda weird wearing anything TOO casual.
Why tho? All my professors dress casual and it Makes me feel more comfortable with them making me enjoy the class more and actually wanting to learn more
@@emilyschneider3411 fair, but it can also go the other way around, where the teacher is seen as the same level and not taken seriously, thus losing authority.
@@emilyschneider3411 if you’re talking about uni/college which I’m guessing you are since you used the term professor, it’s because by that age you guys are adults and should be able to control yourself and your on the same respect but in high school most are teenagers with fluctuating hormones plus they are still considered kids to the teachers. That’s why you don’t address your teachers by their first name in high school while in college it’s more relaxed and depends on the professor
idk why everyone freaks out over not being able to show skin at school. it’s a professional environment, you are going to be required to wear professional clothes
I seriously can’t think of a place less professional than a public high school. Vaping, constant phone use, weed, constant thievery, constant cursing, PDA, gossip runs rampant. It’s by no means a professional environment.
it maybe professional for the teachers but not the kids 💀 especially elementary schoolers, they shouldn't have to cover up because some pervert or dumb boy is looking at them
@@AwTickStickthat’s talking about the students there. I highly doubt most of that is something teachers are doing, unless they’re teaching older grades.
maybe it’s just my area, but teachers wore all the ‘absolutely nots’ all the time, they didn’t care about the teacher’s dress codes, only us kids unfortunately
This comment is underrated... That's exactly how I felt in school... Like, i don't need to see your underwear accidently because your skirt is too short or your tops a bit see through... Thanks teach but nah 🤢 just dress for your job... No need to try and look hot. For who ☠️
I don't think he's implying that the teachers cared about attracting the kids. I read it as sarcasm, saying that the teaches didn't do anything wrong by caring more about the kids than the dress code, in which case, I would argue that if you cared about your students, you would avoid sexually confusing them, but people, themselves, are so confused these days, they don't even know what sexual confusion is. They think if you have a sexual impulse, the proper thing to do it act on it. The proper thing to do is to stop feeding into your perverted thoughts.
@@TheXiphosgaming you don't really see this teachers outfits everyday, do you, so I don't really know what your judgment is based off of. But anyway, the dress code has a bunch of ridiculous rules for both teachers and students. If the teacher hasn't gotten in trouble by now, then obviously none of the important rules have been broken.
As an asian, i get cultural shock cuz we never thought about fashion when talking about profession, we just assumed, we pick the easiest and comfortable clothes. Outside work, with friends you glam up or whatever.
I love these “what I’d wear if I were a teacher” TikTok’s because it really feels like half the people who make them are saying “I’d wear this to thirst trap middle schoolers.”
Yeah, a lot of people forget that you have to dress professionally when you work certain jobs. Edit: yall are very much losing track of what my original comment said. This isnt about students wearing makeup at all
It shouldn’t even be a bout dress code you are working with children why are you trying to look like a straight 304 in front of children I seen many female teacher flirt with high school kids and nothing be done but the moment the male teacher flirted with a high school girl guess who went to prison immediately 🤣 regardless of gender you trying to smash a kid u deserve to be in prison
A lot of people can't let go of trying to dress cute or sexy... Like, they NEED to show skin, or they feel oppressed or something 😂 they don't understand the point of professionalism.... no one that's your student wants to accidently see up, down or through any of your items of clothing. They're not there to find you attractive, stylish, fashionable etc. they're there to learn from you...
i remember this kid got screamed at byf of our home room bc he snitched on the teacher to his mom for him wearing a slipknot shirt with a pentagram on it
My teacher came in with a shirt that said, "f$ck you, we do what we want" while in shorts so I'm not sure if your school was strict or if mine was just really chill (I am in college, not middle school. Please stop treating my teachers like they are a bunch of groomers.)
Yeah, stuff like that happens in my school all the time, and this is a middle school too, not a high school. I think it depends on if your county lets the schools decide on the dress code or if they do. My school chose not to have a dress code (within reason) so you can wear pretty much anything.
Usually, the teachers have similar dress codes to the students. Don't show too much skin and you're good, unless your school has a specific uniform. That's usually how it works in America, at least.
when i was in kindergarten (2008) in my K-12 school my teachers weren’t allowed to wear pants at all. there was a single special day of the year called ‘blue jeans day’ where the teachers were allowed to wear dark blue denim jeans and that was all. wish i was joking! it’s crazy how bad the dress code was in that place.
Wait a minute this unlocked a memory. Because I remember my kindergarten teacher came from an amish/mormon something kind of background, and the women had to put up their hair and wear long skirts. Her mom came in one day and also had the hair up with the long skirt. Then one day my teacher was able to wear jeans and it was so weird to see. I can’t remember if this was a teacher specific rule, I’m thinking it was because of her religion. Anyways, that was my fav teacher. Love her.
@skylaelizabeth I'm mormon so definitely she wasn't mormon... but in every religion there are crazy people who go nuts with personal beliefs (not necessarily the religion beliefs)
My school had student council fight for years about the dress code, and they got rid of it in 2020. Now all it says that you can’t wear anything offensive (liked discriminating against) and that all private parts must be covered. Since then it’s been fine. And I haven’t seen a single student wear something that could be deemed inappropriate. I wish other school would do the same 🥰
@@XxVampic_ArtzxX there is no “teacher” dress code for public school union teachers. But it’s expected by your principal that you should dress modestly
People think “dressing professionally” means a suit and a tie. No, it means not dressing like your going out to party. It’s showing respect and dressing for the occasion. You’re not going to wear a t-shirt and sweatpants to a casual dinner party, but that doesn’t mean you’re going to wear a suit and tie. People forget that there’s different levels of professionalism, apparently. Lol
@@sarahevans2331 When working with children, you don't wear revealing and/or tight clothing. If you want to be treated with respect, you wear business casual clothing. Perhaps a nice button up top with matching dress pants -- that would work for men or women. In the winter, add a sweater. Adults should not wear t-shirts, jeans, sneakers, crop tops, leggings, etc.
My teachers and us students can wear whatever we want. They don't care. They focus on teaching us. Nobody finna be distracted by some shoulders or stomach covered by a desk most of the time
No one cares about shoulders, however once you allow something like spaghetti straps some girls will just continue to push the boundaries. Showing up in booty shorts and crop tops because mommy and daddy never loved them and they crave attention.
I think dressing professionally, aka not wearing casual clothes, crop tops, etc etc is really important. Looking hot as a teacher shouldn’t be the goal. Professionalism in the workplace is important.
@@tiaslays255 As I said, being hot shouldn’t be the goal. I agree that you can look good and do your job, but you can do so by wearing appropriate and professional clothing.
@Cheesus Christ you can be hot and professional, because being hot isn’t a direct tie to showing as much skin as possible. I’ve worn many profesional dresses, literal “business women” dresses, and was still called hot and sexy by men. Because it’s not about the clothes it’s about the body. Yes teachers shouldn’t be dressing as they would in club per-say but many casual clothes are perfectly professional and not to mention a teacher has no control over how other people react to her. I’ve seen teachers who cover EVERYTHING up but because they have big tits that can not be hidden unless they wear an “unprofessional” baggy top, they are sexualized regardless .

What do you particularly classify as inappropriate? Im only asking out of curiosity, cause to me besides the sliver of midriff these outffits are rather modest and covered compared to what you might see out at the park or mall.
I'm a pre-school teacher, and I think it does not matter who you are teaching. Your clothes should not be the center of attention. I have kids who got lost in class because of my "colorful" shoes... you CAN show them who you are and that everyone can have their own style or whatever but you have to choose wisely when to do it, plus you should not let them have the wrong impression when they're teens or when meeting parents, people cross boundaries just because of your clothes. PEOPLE FORGET THAT YOU CAN HAVE A PROFESSIONAL LIFE AND PERSONAL LIFE AND BE TWO DIFFERENT PERSONS WITHOUT FEELING THAT "PEOPLE ARE SO MEAN 4 NOT ACCEPTING WHO I AM" . As you get more mature and experienced, you start preferring to have work and personal life separate, and that includes sticking to a dress code even if that is not what you would wear as your style. But of course you should feel comfortable with the clothes that your work wants you to wear. As an example, some people think pre-school teachers should use formal clothes, but with kids, you end up having all of your clothes covered in paint, puke, etc... plus I can't run in heels and kids sometimes work and play on the floor. That is the reason I wear jeans and snickers.
Okay don't blanket statement Gen Z. I'm 2000 born, and I absolutely love my eccentricity and variety in my wardrobe. I love fashion. I die inside and don't feel confident if I don't feel satisfied with my outfit. However, I work in a school. And I will strictly stay with my work uniform, as boring and lowkey unflattering as it is. I understand in my mind that this is for work, and therefore I give myself a pass for when people outside see me in it when I'm walking home. Like I just got off work, bug off, I know this doesn't represent me and I'm okay with that 😂
@쀵쀵귀염이 I totally understand what are you saying, I actually said that it's okay to have working clothe and to be a different person outside, but I also said that you should feel comfortable in your working clothes, with kids I can't use something "nice" because I always end up having paint, puke, and other things on my clothe so I use jeans and snickers so I can do my job properly. People should feel comfortable in their working clothes without passing the dress code and safety .But you made me realize that is wrong putting gen z, there are a lot of people that are not gen z who is doing this "trend" and commenting about why is wrong having uniforms or how schools are bad for not letting teacher use whatever they want, etc... I was wrong with that part. I would change it, thank you.

After being kicked out of every school I went to, I was sent to a delinquent high school for my Junior and Senior year and that school was the most relaxed school I’ve ever been to. Everyone went by first names other than like two of the teachers there, they wore pretty much whatever. I remember my art teacher would always wear little skirts and boots and had lots of tattoos, one of the male teachers would only wear shorts and sandals and openly talked about doing hallucinogenics and his experiences, hats and tank tops were allowed and everyone was pretty much encouraged to wear whatever they felt comfortable in. The teachers would joke around with students and call them names (playfully) all the time. I had another male teacher who was this big gym bro, dude was massive, always made jokes about how he sometimes just wants to become a male stripper. The school, for the first couple years was only for delinquent students that didn’t do well at other schools, but because of the huge turnover rate of “bad” kids doing well and successfully graduating, they opened it up for all students to be able to attend at the start of their Freshman year. The increase of kids that were there my Senior year compared to my Junior year, was insane. Very grateful to that school and the faculty for not only pushing me to graduate, but also making me want to graduate. The teachers there were my reason to work hard as they were people I didn’t want to disappoint. Started my Junior year with .1 credits, not even a full credit. Needed 24 as the requirement. At the end of my Senior year, I graduated with 28 :)
I think having certain dress codes especially for teachers is important because when kids start going through puberty seeing stupid things give them stupid feelings like in my old school there was a male teacher who wore tight shorts and there was an issue with 15-16 year old girls staring that the, you know.
I remember we were having a meeting about an international exchange we were doing and the teachers told us that they had strict dress clothes and that there were certain things we couldn’t wear. So I said, ‘Wow, good thing we don’t have a dresscode’. We do, I found out that day. And I single-handedly made it more strict. Yay.
In high school, I'd go from a teacher wearing shiny shoes and a tie, to a teacher wearing ratty jeans and flipflops. The only rule for teachers was "be covered and no bad words."
Depends on coutry and school form. For example in germany you can technically wear croptops, but its frowned upon, but not forbidden, same with mini skirts.

You dress how you want to be perceived. If you gonna dress like that as a teacher you will be seen as a buddy, fashion icon, but not an authority. That’s why thankfully private or public teachers here wear a uniform and you wont see students disrespecting teachers unlike how I commonly see it in western culture.
i live in germany and exept for really bad schools i never ever heard of students disrespecting teachers based on their clothing. yes we are told to respect teachers but not if they don´t deserve it. a good teacher can be respected and still be a buddy, fashion icon or a parent figure at the same time. and if you have a bad teacher you can openly disagree and speak your mind and are not forced to simply endure it. and i don´t mean like be a dick about it but you can be disagree and still be civil about it. what use are people who only follow stupid rules just because their told to and don´t have the ability and freedom to be able to stand their ground and speak for themselves. you don´t raise and teach children to stay children but to grow up to be independant adults.
@@TheEleonore18 Maybe not based just on their clothing, but overall students completely ignore or abuse their teachers in Western Europe. There’s a lot of reporting on the way students today will hurl insults and objects at school staff, and teachers not dressing or acting professionally certainly will make it worse for them as the students don’t see them as an authority figure.
In the U.K. - teachers have freedom to wear a lot but can’t wear things with certain logos or messages on clothing. They can wear crop tops, no problem with the belly showing or wearing long skirts or mid length skirts, both male & females would wear shorts. However it depends the age range of the school. Young children’s primary schools, teachers dress informally & often dress for comfort. Secondary school teachers choose to dress very formally. Then at college teachers will again choose to dress more informally & relaxed. I believe it’s in an attempt to get more respect from the teenage students, they probably need formal dress to emphasise the hierarchy as all students wear uniforms in the U.K.

I can emphasize with students, because students cannot control where they attend school at and do not have a lot of authority with the dress code.
fwiw dress codes aren’t as strict everywhere.

Usually, the teachers have similar dress codes to the students. Don't show too much skin and you're good, unless your school has a specific uniform. That's usually how it works in America, at least.
Generally teachers are expected to dress better ie colored shirts, long pants, ect while students wearing sweat pants and a sweatshirt is fine.

It’s once again not about “it’s the man’s fault if they can’t take me wearing what I want.” It’s professionalism. It’s about being taken seriously by your peers, principal, and the parents of the children and the children themselves. Men don’t fall into this conversation.
It absolutely is about men bc they're the ones deciding what is professional 🙄 man y'all are so dumb it's annoying
Agreed. Especially because it would also be considered inappropriate for a male teacher to wear a crop top or shorts to teach as well, so it’s not a double standard… it’s just the parameters of the dress code
I think the outcomes should speak themselves and no one should be judged on appearance. That's just surface level what they bring to the table is what's important. And even still who cares what her judgmental peers are thinking as long as her students are well fed. I think we put too much emphasis on things that do not matter and what you wear does not matter as long as it doesn't hinder your performance.
@@legacysdreamlife9021cope dude Jesus Christ. No one wants to be taught by someone wearing their old Pajamas. They want someone progressional, especially bc any else will distract teenage boys. My old teacher wore nothing but sports gear bc she was a sports teacher and you could see everything. It was very difficult to concentrate
Ah yes because showing stomach means you shouldn't be taken seriously....yeah you're just upholding sexism
DAMN BRO
damn.
what an incredible school you're describing! I'm so happy for you and your classmates. thats amazing.
That's beautiful, I love when faculty has a live and let live mindset, if you don't mind sharing, what school is this?
@@niyahgreen9546 It’s called Diamond Ridge. Located in Sandy Utah, across the street from a cemetery lol.
It really depends on the school. I’m Finnish and a lot of teachers wear crop tops and short skirts here when it’s warm.
Same in sweden! Ive worked as a teacher too and i could wear almost whatever that the students could
That is dumb
@@quaintex6209 in the summer and late spring it can be very warm, sometimes even over 30°C
@@quaintex6209 Yeah, a lot of people think that
I live there too and thats true i see nothing wrong with that lol
You’re so pretty
I think having certain dress codes especially for teachers is important because when kids start going through puberty seeing stupid things give them stupid feelings like in my old school there was a male teacher who wore tight shorts and there was an issue with 15-16 year old girls staring that the, you know.
I remember we were having a meeting about an international exchange we were doing and the teachers told us that they had strict dress clothes and that there were certain things we couldn’t wear.
So I said, ‘Wow, good thing we don’t have a dresscode’.
We do, I found out that day. And I single-handedly made it more strict. Yay.
“Can’t have the stomach showing”
Teachers at my school:
“See through shirts”
;)
That’s insane
Girl had a lot of energy
THE LAST OUTFIT THOUGHH I WOULD WEAR THAT ITS SO CUTE & SIMPLE :D
In high school, I'd go from a teacher wearing shiny shoes and a tie, to a teacher wearing ratty jeans and flipflops. The only rule for teachers was "be covered and no bad words."
My teacher cusses
"U need to wear pants"😂
This makes me realize how much freedom my teachers have at my school, they can wear dresses skirts or shorts but no crop tops
Cute! You should be able to wear what you wish!
that “absolutely not” scared the shit out of me 😭
I mean the dress code really isn't that bad for the teachers the whole point is that they want there employees to look professional
Man I have never had a teacher as pretty as you I always get the old ones that are mean ❤❤
My professors could wear absolutely anything, there's no dress code here. But they decide to slay every single day
Are you at a college? Most colleges don’t care what they’re professors wear as long as it’s not showing too much
Professor is higher formal education. Teacher is not. Teachers teach children/ minors.
My history teacher comes in drunk in a relaxed button up shirt half done,he is the best teacher I've had and he taught me a lot of history
Ur so pretty
Depends on coutry and school form.
For example in germany you can technically wear croptops, but its frowned upon, but not forbidden, same with mini skirts.
Ok and are they in Germany no
@Shaba-wp2dx you missed the point....
@@Moneymaker828 then lemme summe it up for kindergarten kids like you, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A SET DRESS CODE FOR TEACHERS, ALSO IT DEPENDS ON WHICH KIND IF SCHOOL YOU WORK AT.
It depends where you go but I live in a place where wearing a dress shorter than your knees as a teacher is okay but not as a student 🙄🙄🙄
Congratulations on the sponsor!!!! Absolutely fantastic work!! ☺️ nice way to wind down today
The “Absolutely not” just gave me flashbacks and sent a chill down my spine
Glad we in Germany didn't have dress codes lmao imagine getting in trouble for wearing a top with a Nanometer of your belly showing. Our entire school would be shut down😂
lmao
Hahahaha im Greek and we don't have dresscodes either
Yea I’m a Swede and these rules are crazy during the summer everyone would die if we had to wear those clothes. It’s only spring and it’s already 20 degrees
Same , that’s why when i have kids they are going to private school… these public teachers try to hard to be students friends its creepy
Most of the time, kids disrespect a teacher because their strict. I've never seen treatment based on clothes.
Really? I have a teacher who's fashion style is quite laid back and I only see her as authoritative. I think that's just your subjective perception.
At my school most of those would have been allowed ngl- the teachers just don’t dress up for a basic day at school 😂
Not the dance moves at the start of the video😭💀🤣
Absolutely makes sense. Tweed Mr Chips suits, white shirts, darks ties, and proper well polished dark shoes. I'd expect nothing less from the UK.
