😂I can’t believe you noticed that. Someone rode by with a really loud car and I just muted the audio for a few seconds. I can’t remember what I said, but I’m sure it wasn’t important. This game is great, check it out any way you can!
Zelda is not a bad game at all to clone, just as long as it’s done right. This one looks pretty fun, I am just surprised Nintendo let them get away with that 😂. Great video man!
They are really great. So glad I have the Everdrive for the TG16. I’m not sure how I would get any games for it as high as they are now. Thanks for watching!👊🦈
Awesome to hear that you enjoy Neutopia! As a die-hard fan of The Legend of Zelda, I enjoy this and Part II as well. I hope you share more footage of this and its sequel.
I love this game. As soon as I finish it I will start the second one. I’ll definitely make some more videos with this one soon! Thanks for watching! Also new files are in the drop box!
I have this on my CoreGrafx mini. Now that I see it, I think I will probably play it. Well, the formula for Zelda clearly works. Music is pretty good here too. ... and those are some great camera stares...
Awesome, this is a great (is rip off too strong of a term?) game! I love BigOleWords as well, great channel! IMO he's got the best NES content going now. I was actually going to do something like a "forgotten five" video with Zelda "like" games on Sega, but I think I would rather do some playthroughs instead. Great job, I love that you are representing the TurboGrafx! Thanks for this one.
Couldn’t agree with you more! Big Ole Words definitely has the best NES content out there. And I would put the entertainment level up there with AVGN. would love to see some Zelda like games for Sega. I’m sure there’s some I don’t even know about yet. Thanks for watching!👊🦈
This is on the TG16 mini, I gotta play it now 😎 Loved the big arrow made of rocks to point your way to the dungeon 🤣 It definitely is straight up a Zelda ripoff 🤣 Still worth playing I reckon 😎👍
Best Zelda clone? IMO that would be Crusader of Centy on the Sega Genesis. Or at least it’s right up there with its fantastic visuals and music. Give it a go, it’s quite good
I believe this one might be a closer clone to Zelda, but I agree that Crusader Of Centy is a better game. I love that game! I only have a repro of it though. Can’t afford the real thing anymore😆 Thanks for watching!👊
We have to put things right on the time line. CoC is made 3 years AFTER LttP. This is made in between NES Zelda and LttP. So yes CoC is a Zelda LttP clone, 3 years in the making, where Neutopia II set the bar for Nintendo LttP. It came to the show 2 months prior and really challenged Nintendo to give everything with LttP. On some areas it is unbeaten, especially music. The LttP score is obnoxious and annoying as heck, where the Neutopia II OST is chiptune heaven. Also Hudson defined how to implement bossfights for the genre. Original NES Zelda is very bad in this aspect.
Calling it a clone does it a disservice. Just because it takes a few elements from Zelda doesn't mean it's a clone. It really runs with the ideas it copied from Zelda. It used Zelda as a starting point, then improved on it.
I disagree. Comparing it to Zelda is not a disservice, it’s a compliment, and the only way most people are ever going to know about it. Anyone who likes Zelda will certainly want to play Neutopia and its sequel. I’m a huge fan of both. Thanks for watching!👊
You're right this was the legend of Zelda haha, I would love to play this it looks great have fun trying to beat it and I look forward to your next video
Ok, now I need to play this “Zelda clone” game all the way through haha, thanks for the review, game does look great (especially the top menu and treasure chests, and sword, and selection menu, and bombs, and… lol)
If you like the classic Zelda games you definitely need to play through this one. I don’t think you can say you’ve beaten every Zelda game unless you’ve beat this as well.🤣 And then there is a sequel that’s even better than this! thanks for watching!👊
Neutopia and Neutopia II is the Zelda II and III the NES never got (I don't count NES Zelda II as a successor to Legend of Zelda). Legend of Zelda has its merits on a conceptual level, but the games was too early, Nintendo didn't know shit how to program the NES back in those days yet. It looks ugly, music is limited. Hudson fine tuned the concept to pieces of art, and IMO Neutopia II is on the sweet spot. Graphics, playability and Music has been perfected. LttP goes overboard. The world gets too big, game too long and too vague, and the music is just a proof that the SNES music chip was a pain in the ass to work with. So sad Nintendo never tried a follow up on the NES, as imo it is the superior machine to the SNES. Late NES games are all excellent and often surpassing the same game on the SNES. Duck Tales, Isolated Warrior, Felix the Cat, Kirby's Adventure, all examples of how good the NES 2.0 was. Guess they just tried to get everybody hop over to the SNES by not releasing LttP on the NES, but I think it could have been even better on the NES if they wanted. Neutopia II is the closest we can get to a Zelda game perfected for tiled sprite worlds with chiptune music.
I'm on the 6th medallion playing through the first game myself. It's interesting. It never really reaches the heights of Zelda. The colors are a bit drab and there's not as much deep gameplay with weapon and item variety, but what's there is very comfy and charming. If Zelda is an A+ I'd nay Neutopia is a B+.
Hell yeah dude! Pretty insane how well this kinda anticipated the look and feel of Link to the Past! Wait, what secret message was that at 4:58?

I can’t believe they got away with it either! But I’m sure glad they did. Never too much Zelda for me! Thanks for watching!👊🦈
This game should have been titled “The Legend of Aurora” or Aurora: The Adventures of Jazeta”. Looks like a fun game especially for a Zelda clone.
How they got away with this I’ll never know. But yeah, they should have went for a rip off with the name as well! Thanks for watching!👊🦈
Been trying to get my hands on this game for some time. Same goes for the sequel but both have gotten rather expensive.

for instance insted of a ring to wear to lower damage, you wear a tunic, something that Zelda wouldn't get until Link to the Past.

Maybe the best, but I haven’t played Crusader Of Senty yet.👊🦈

Is it just me, or does the overworld theme sound like House of the Rising Sun?
Omg!!!! That’s hilarious! I would totally play this game. It basically IS Zelda. Nice playthrough.
You have the Everdrive now, so give it a go! You want be disappointed. Thanks for watching!👊🦈

It's dangerous to go alone. Take this Zelda clone!
😁👍

Yeah, but of the Neutopia games are a lot of fun! They are total Zelda rip offs and I mean that as a compliment!
Yep, total rip offs and I love it. Never to much Zelda for me!
You didnt even get the fire staff, when you gain more health it gets stronger
Its superior and more fun than zelda
First !!
Thanks Cheese!👊🦈
