We were drving west to Yellowstone, past lakes, forests, the endless flat cropland as far as the eye could see, when all of a sudden the land turned bad. It was quite a shock to the system to see the sudden change. But the results of the erosion are beatiful to see, with all the wildlife being a wonderful bonus. IMHO, the Badlands get a bad rap and are an underrated tourist attraction.
