Cats are always cute, but then I'm biased.
As someone with a hissy cat, it is not really anger. It is more like "I think you are scary, stay away from me." It has been over a year and my boy still think I'm scary. His much younger friend, who came as a kitten, is not scared of me at all.

@@Ikajo That reminds me of a feral I've been feeding for at least three years. No matter how much he seems to trust me, and will even sit within "petting distance" to me, he won't let me touch him.
His color is gorgeous. He felt more secure and comfortable when he saw the kittens. Great job for finding him a forever home.♥️🐾

His left ear is clipped: sign he was part of a of a 'neuter and release' scheme.
Also: I don't get someone trying to pet a cat when they are eating, especially a nervous one. They don't like it! (frankly, I wouldn't either!)
Perhaps it's owner was incarcerated or passed away. We have a cat that's owner passed away.. I don't think the family even realized that she had the cat. If they did, they weren't able to locate him. As my mom was adopting him Into our household.

I love his markings. They're not just regular stripes like most oranges have. He's a very pretty boy. Orange kitties have some of the best personalities out of any cats I've ever had.
I wholeheartedly agree! every orange tabby I've had or I have known has been the nicest with the most docile temperament and extra affectionate especially the male cats.
@@jillybean3688 yes! The male cats especially! But they're so goofy too. Like the ones I've always had are hilarious. One I had used to hide and jump out at you and make this funny noise and grab your leg to scare you lol. So I used to hide and scare him too and I swear he loved it. It was one of his favorite games. After he scared you..he'd run off like he was laughing at you. And he was obsessed with my little sisters polly pockets clothes. They're like a rubbery material. We would hide them cuz he'd eat them and we knew that couldnt be healthy. And we'd think they were all put up but then here he'd come carrying some in his mouth. We were like where'd you even find those?! He was indoor/outdoor (we had a cat door) and he CONSTANTLY brought us "presents" he was a little terrorist lol. I miss that cat so much. He was the best.

Aww! I bet that's a beautiful kitty. I'd say grey and whites are definitely of my favorites too. I've had a few of them too and they can be super big lovebugs.

My cat was a stray and didn't like to be held or touch now she's a cutie who begs me for more rubs I love her very much 😊
"I was going to be extremely picky about who adopted him" As a rescuer you have 100% of the right to be as picky as you want. No arguments. But the flip side of the coin is that plenty of "imperfect" adopters who will still give animals loving home gets rejected, frustrated, and turn to breeders. Or worse, Craigslist, and find themselves an animal when there are already plenty that needs a home.

Axel has a beautiful coat and his mangled ear really gives him some gravitas. He was worth the time to bring him in and show him love that he deserves.
The ear a Trap Neuter (Spay) Return clip. TNR is a program where stray or or feral cats are humanely trapped, neutered or spayed (given other medical attention as well) and then returned to a colony. These community programs do incredible work with strays and feral cats. 😊

This guy's so handsome, and his motor sounds good and strong [meaning the purring, LOL]. I'm so happy someone took a chance on taking him in to get him to be the indoor kitty he was meant to be. He looks so natural w/ the babies, I bet he had kittens w/ a lucky female kitty out there somewhere, I jus have a feeling.
When stray cats are sterilized, the vets usually cut the tip of their ears (the cat's ear, not the vet's), so they can differentiate the ones that had it and the ones that didn't.

Treats and food motivation are the keys also with a piece of clothing. He was abandoned. For sure poor kitty. Blessings. I'm glad that he found a forever home along with one of the kittens.

Only the feral cats who are going to be released back to the area they were caught, should have their ears tipped. Why in the world would someone remove part of their acute hearing mechanism if they are going to be fostered and rehomed? Tipping is for "trap-neuter-release" only. Thank you for rescuing and rehoming him. He is beautiful and precious. Every feral can be rehabilitated. I have 'trapped-spay/neutered-rehomed MANY. Never had to release back to the streets. It just takes patience, time and love. Cats learn quickly. Many are just frightened because someone failed them along the way.❤

Maybe they weren’t sure he could be rehabilitated, so when he was under anesthesia for neutering, they decided to tip his ear as well? It’s definitely an odd thing to do on a cat that’s going to be adopted out.

@@ElaAusDemTal Not sure what you are referring to, but tipping their ears is a visible sign alerting animal control, shelters and the public that these cats have gone through the TNR (Trap-Neuter-Release) program, including Rabies vax, so that animal control will not pick them up and euthanize them. TNR started as a more humane means of not having to kill the cats. The most humane thing people can do is to get their cats spay/neutered prior to 6 months of age, when they generally become sexually mature. And never leave your pets behind, expecting someone else will take them. Rehome them or surrender them to a shelter.

The way his left ear is clipped is exactly like my car Figaro. He showed up during a snow storm in February the year before and decided to stay. We spent months just trying to pet him and then one day he was all over us. He now spends every night in my bedroom and is one of the sweetest cats I have ever met.

happy he was able to find a loving home and it's funny how baby kittens can hring out the best in cats that are afraid. Very nice he has a little pal to help him when he is afraid and a mamma and papa to take care of both of them
FYI, The notched ear means, he's a feral cat that was fixed and released.
His ear isn't marked yet in the first clip, and you can see the scab on his ear a bit later. So he was neutered by the people who caught&socialized him in the video.

They didn't know if he was going to be adoptable. So instead of risking having to put him under anaesthesia again if it didn't work out, they marked him. Or maybe the local vet has a TNR discount that only applies if the cat gets tipped. They don't do it for fun. These charities work through hundreds of feral and stray cats, and often lack the time and resources to tame the adults. He was an exception.
My heart melted when I saw him with those kittens! What a gorgeous boy, too.
He reminds me of my old guy who turned 19 this year, except Otto only has half a white face. Just the thought of him outside alone breaks my heart, I can't imagine a scenario in which I'd let this happen under my watch.
Please, everyone, no matter how healthy or invincible you feel please make plans for your animal companions should something happen to you. It's not something fun to think about, but we owe it to these beautiful creatures who rely on us.

What a beautiful cat. My cat came to me from outside too. One of the best decisions I ever made! I had been allergic all my life, but not this special big black cat! A gift from Above for sure right after my dog died. I'd have loved this cat too.
