Wow, you weren't kidding that you were editing these videos as we speak! After seeing about 80% of this production, I can say that David Bell did a fantastic job balancing the choreography with the underlying emotion of the songs. Frank Kopyc seems built for Molokov, though the standouts are still Jodi Benson and Robert Yacko. I've always felt that Freddie was best done by a true baritone, and I mean, what else can you say about Jodi Benson as Florence except "stunning"? The more videos I see from the LB Civic production of this show, the more fantastic it becomes. This and the North Shore Musical Theatre productions of Chess are probably the two strongest productions, including setwork, lighting, choreography and sheer talent. I'll stop waxing philosophic here, Robert, but I will end with a huge "thank you"!
Jodi is my favorite Florence and I’ve probably seen every version of chess available. I’m so mad there isn’t a cast recording of this cast.
You go, Ariel
Perfect Florence. Glorious heart breaking
