ya know this is why your reaction videos are up there as one of the best. it’s because you LISTEN to what the artist is saying and then you dive into the meaning of the track. I feel so many channels are just noticing her vocal styling on White Dress, and not realizing what important things she’s mentioning in the song. Thanks for being dope!
I haven't seen any reactors acknowledge that "For Free" is a Joni Mitchell cover - explaining Lana's lyric "I'm covering Joni" in another song in this album. Also, if you haven't listened to Weyes Blood's album Titanic Rising - you are in for a TREAT.
Yes! And acknowledged that she's singing about Courtney Love "Court almost burned down my home." Courtney stayed in Lana's beach house and is infamous for leaving lit cigarettes everywhere.
Lana's vision, Lana's poetry, Lana's taste in music and Lana's knowledge of (American) pop culture are flawless. For me there is currently no other female artist who can reach her and who is as talented as her. Over the years she has found or rather created a niche in music which only she does perfectly and in which she can thrive to her fullest potential. This album is beyond perfection. Sonically and Lyrically it is by far her most unpredictable work of art yet.
here is my interpretation of each track on this album! lmk what u guys think! white dress- lana contemplates on her days as lizzy grant, in which she used to be a normal pre-fame girl working for her life as a waitress. She touches on topics like the weight of fame, and wanting to go back to the old days, where she had nothing to do. chemtrails over the country club- in this track lana sings about the perfect life of a person living in a country club. Country clubs are usually this higher class, closed off space where people enjoy the luxuries of life. Lana sings about “wearing jewels in the swimming pools” and “we laugh about nothing as the summer gets cool”. Country clubs are a metaphor for “perfection” and having no care in the world because of your wealth. The “chemtrails” represesnt a snap back to reality. Take is as some sort of “hey, snap out of it, other people live around u”. Chemtrails are theorized to contain chemicals that can control us as human beings. The imagery of chemtrails over country clubs alludes to real life issues today. The people in the country club are obviously ignorant people nowadays who have no care in the world and the chemtrails represent the issues that are clearly going on in the world, hence chemtrails over the country club. Tulsa Jesus Freak- Lana sings about alcoholism and the hypocritical behavior of her ex husband Sean. Sean is a christian, which being an alcoholic is nowhere near and very disrespectful to the religion. Lana says “you should stay real close to jesus, keep that bottle at ur hand my man”, alluding to the fact that hes preaching to stay close to jesus while having his own flaws and sins. Let me Love You Like a Woman- Lana sings about wanting to be laid back and find someone who lets her be herself. She wants a relationship that will last, and that she can put all her heart into Wild at Heart- In this track, Lana seems to have hope. Its amazing how in the chorus, she uses the same instrumentals as in How To Disappear, a song about her thinking its over and her career is over, and she wants to simply disappear. With this song, we see a much more hopeful and happy turn. She sings about her doubts and what the media thinks, but at the end of the day, the real people who will forever be with her will love her because shes “wild at heart” so she decided to keep going and stay for her fans. dark but just a game- Lana loves to speak out about the weight of fame and the dark side of it. This is actually a quote that Jack Antonoff had told her. “The faces arent the same but their stories all end tragically”. This is emphasizing the fact that fame can cause different things, good and bad, and the stories of these people who have been turned “bad” and changed, are tragic. Lana sings about how she will stay the same and not change, because this is why she is happy and why the people love her. Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost- A song for the Wanderers, Lana seems to connect with people who take it easy on life and travel from place to place, and cant find a home. Lanas whole life, she has been all about the kindness of strangers and traveling and seeing the beauty of the world. The play in the words “lost” and “wander lust” add to the fact that, its ok to keep wandering because great things come from it. Yosemite- honestly i have not listened to this song, whoops! Breaking Up Slowly- Breaking up really hurts. Lana and Nikki sing about breaking up with someone who is making their life hard, but they still love. It obviously hurts, but in the end, its the right thing to do. Dance Till We Die- In this song, Lana namedrops her friends. This song is about the sense of comfort and relief of having people and friends who love you and support u no matter what. Lana talks about how she hates being alone, and she contemplates on times with her friends. They will forever keep dancing till they die. They will stick together. For Free- In this track, Lana and her friends sing about artists who sing for free. They dont get paid for it, they just do it out of pure enjoyment and to one day be heard and become bigger. This is very meaningful to Lana because she was once in this position, and she has grown from it. She respects everyone who does this and wishes them the best of luck.
I found that its so hard to rank lana's songs in a single album because they all compliment each other and make up one solid work of art. An album listen feels like some kind of journey
I have heared so many mixed reviews about this album...but I think it's very mature..and it grows better and better how many times u listen..and I gotta say this was very lovely album...and ily😀
White Dress is supposed to be about her early days as Lizzy Grant (her actual name) & White Hot Forever was actually supposed to be the original title of the album before she changed it to Chemtrails
Tolkien: All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not touched by the frost.
I've actually waited for your reaction, cause your reactions make me feel so happy! Love you! 💜💕 When I listened to White Dress for the first time I was really surprised how she used her voice. She had never done it!
I don’t know if u noticed but the chorus production in Wild at heart is very similar to how to disappear’s production and she’s also singing about the same guy (Joe) so people are assuming it’s kinda like a part 2 of that song, except she has changed, they both have.
My understanding of the album- So, she is basically "contemplating throughout the album" hence the title track and the title of the album. She starts with White Dress remembering how it was pre-fame for her and then it progresses and reaches a point (very different) to Tulsa Jesus Freak/White Hot Forever (detailing her relation with Sean Larkin- he is a Christian and works in Tulsa OK but originally from CA) it was also supposed to be the album title which would've taken it to a more relationship-centric vibe but instead she focuses on broader subjects including love, her place in society as an artist (WAH, DBJAG, etc), touches on her misconstrued image by the media. She is figuring out whether it's worth it or what? (If they'll love me, they'll love cuz I'm wild at heart) It seems like she found a tight-knit circle of women in music like Joan Benz and Stevie Nicks (Track- DTWD) and she will continue on with her career and will keep going and then she closes the album with a mic drop- Track 11 (For free) It shows the biggest reality of the industry. The best/most real of albums and musicians are never looked at cuz they don't play the dark fame game it seems like that's the route she will take as well. All this she is contemplating under the chemtrails over the country club (where her journey from white dress has brought her-Track 2) Hence, she named it Chemtrails Over The Country Club (refer to the lyric on the song) She said in her interview that this album was about she felt like she didn't know where to go.
She has very distinct vibes and her songs kinda all flow with eachother a little so it’s hard to distinguish them as a whole sometimes so ya ranking them is way hard cus it’s like these songs are so similar yet at the same time defiantly unique in their own right
@@jordiaumatell8430 it is on her insta! she posted about yesterday. i don’t completely know if she is being serious or sarcastic and it’s satire. i hope it’s not.
she’s constantly making references to “blue” which I’ve always thought had to do with Joni Mitchell’s album and song, Blue, but it confirms that with For Free 😭 I love that she covered her

i think it’s a pretty solid album, but NFR is still my favorite album by queen mother. so far For Free is the only song i still don’t vibe with, it just doesn’t do anything for me (kinda made me sad cuz i really love Weyes Blood). my personal ranking 1. Tulsa Jesus Freak 2. Chemtrails Over the Country Club 3. Dark But Just a Game 4. White Dress 5. Yosemite 6. Not All Who Wander Are Lost 7. Breaking Up Slowly (feat. Nikki Lane) 8. Wild at Heart 9. Let Me Love You Like a Woman 10. Dance Till We Die 11. For Free (feat. Zella Day & Weyes Blood)
I really just stayed up from 2am-6:00am listening to your Lana reactions and straight up rescheduled my clients for today for tomorrow instead. Lol I just couldn’t stop watching. I fell in love with Lana all over again. It was like listening to Lana for the first time again.
For Free is a beautiful cover of a Joni Mitchell song. Joni is definitely one of the best folk/rock songwriters and has such beautiful introspective songs
Fun Fact: The album was originally named White Hot Forever, and Tulsa Jesus Freak was supposed to be the title track, but after she wrote Chemtrails, she changed the album name
“Candle in the wind” was familiar because she also mentions it in Mariners Apartment Complex. It’s a reference to Elton John’s song about Marilyn Monroe & how she was affected by her fame, themes that Lana seems to relate to a lot!🤍
It would be interesting to see your reaction to the performances of Diana Ankudinova. This young singer with a stunning voice will not leave anyone indifferent.
I´ve listened to this album for the first time two days ago and I almost cried at the title track. Of course, because it´s beautiful and cinematic as always but it was my thought like "Damn, this is her seventh album (Paradise included) and she´s still slaying and bringing so much beauty and nostalgia with her songs." (If they'll love me, they'll love cuz I'm wild at heart) It seems like she found a tight-knit circle of women in music like Joan Benz and Stevie Nicks (Track- DTWD) and she will continue on with her career and will keep going and then she closes the album with a mic drop- Track 11 (For free) It shows the biggest reality of the industry.
I was so upset, living in Tulsa, that she doesn't even say Tulsa in the song lol
Nice! But don't forget her friendship with chainsmoker Courtney Love, who stayed in Lana's beach house for a bit "Court almost burnt down my home."
NFR is still her best album to me, but this album has easily made it to top 3
OMG THAT TAYLOR APPEARANCE HAHAHA SPILLED ALL MY COFFEE OFF
I'm just starting the video, but this really feels like one of those videos that is just so relaxing and chill.
definitely what i was going for so i do hope you enjoy it, thanks for being here! :)
@@caitlinmariereacts And thank YOU for, like, just being yourself and existing.
the voice in the background of not all who wander are lost is jack antonoff
She has very distinct vibes and her songs kinda all flow with eachother a little so it’s hard to distinguish them as a whole sometimes so ya ranking them is way hard cus it’s like these songs are so similar yet at the same time defiantly unique in their own right
AND SHE LITERALLY JUST ANNOUNCED ANOTHER ALBUM
Whaaaat
Tell me more
More information please??

@@jordiaumatell8430 it is on her insta! she posted about yesterday. i don’t completely know if she is being serious or sarcastic and it’s satire. i hope it’s not.
i think this is her happiest album so far, ITS SO BEAUTIFUL
the instrumental on the chorus of wild at heart is actually the melody from how to dissapear :D
WHA
I PICKED THAT UP AND WAS IN A STATE FOR LIKE 20 MINUTES

AMERICA EGGS PLAIN THO
15:59 when that part happened I thought someone was in my room for a sec 😭😂
Fun fact: White Hot Forever was the original title of the album ♡
omg i wish it was called thar
My favorite song of this album is not all who wander are lost 🥺❤️
That's the worst
I love that too
Lana is the only one who can scream in a whisper while singing.
I’m literally not surprised that Lana created ANOTHER masterpiece
she’s constantly making references to “blue” which I’ve always thought had to do with Joni Mitchell’s album and song, Blue, but it confirms that with For Free 😭 I love that she covered her
I've been on a journey through Lana's discography for the past 2 weeks in preparation for this album & it's been wonderful! This album is amazing & I'm just really happy I got to experience all of her music like this. 😁
For Free is actually a Joni Mitchell Cover.
not all who wander are lost radiates comfort, like i feel hugged every time i listen to it
i cant believe how much her music change you from a depressing human you become smth more you accept yourself you open up i dont think any artist could help me more than this one (you cant believe how much i appreciate that you understand her music and dont just make you cry anymore)
i think it’s a pretty solid album, but NFR is still my favorite album by queen mother. so far For Free is the only song i still don’t vibe with, it just doesn’t do anything for me (kinda made me sad cuz i really love Weyes Blood). my personal ranking
1. Tulsa Jesus Freak
2. Chemtrails Over the Country Club
3. Dark But Just a Game
4. White Dress
5. Yosemite
6. Not All Who Wander Are Lost
7. Breaking Up Slowly (feat. Nikki Lane)
8. Wild at Heart
9. Let Me Love You Like a Woman
10. Dance Till We Die
This is the first time I listen to Lana's whole album and it's mindblowing. Her vocal, the lyrics, the production is just wow. 😮❤️👌
That falsetto in wild at heart kind of sounds like “love song”
I really love your reactions because you´re so authentic about them! Thank you so much for Lana's lastest album review!!! Greetings from Mexico!!!
OMG THE NEW ANIMATED INTRO WHY IS NOBODY TALKED BOUT THAT OMG THE GROWTH OF THIS CHANNEL 😭😭😭
Yes! Please do a Weyes Blood reaction! Titanic Rising is one of the best albums... period haha
Exactly
Let me love you like a woman's demo is out of this world, it was originally called pink champagne, an UV outtake
Glad I'm not the only one who jumped when I heard the "look at what you made me do" and immediately thought of Taylor haha.
You and Ajay dropping this reaction at the same time is the BEST way I could have possibly started my day
Caitlyn I absolutely love youuu! Also "For Free" is a Joni Mitchell cover and White Dress was freestyled and recorded in one take!
Caitlin, you honestly have the best reactions ever. You seem genuine af.
“Not all who wander are lost” is so amazing !! I barely hear ppl talking about it. That Chorus is so beautiful
THE BACKGROUND, THE INTRO, I LOVE IT SO MUCH OH MY GOD
thank you so much!!
It would be interesting to see your reaction to the performances of Diana Ankudinova. This young singer with a stunning voice will not leave anyone indifferent.
Diana Ankudinova!!!🔥🔥🔥👏👏👏
Diana ❤❤❤💯👍
for free is a cover, the original version is by joni mitchell. she even mentioned that in dance till we die :)
yosemite is my favorite, tulsa jesus freak, white dress, and chemtrails are also amazing
you stole the words outta my mind 💯 except the title track, it’s aight
Not you and Ajay literally making our weekend better 🖤🖤🖤🖤
No ones talking abt how she mentions candle in the wind multiple times....NFR much?
LMLYLAW was originally written for UV, imagine how old the lyrics are and yet they sound soooo perfect in the context of the new album! STREAM COCC!
I´ve listened to this album for the first time two days ago and I almost cried at the title track. Of course, because it´s beautiful and cinematic as always but it was my thought like "Damn, this is her seventh album (Paradise included) and she´s still slaying and bringing so much beauty and nostalgia with her songs." I love her, no more words needed.
YOUR REACTION IS PURE GOLD. You are so perfect. And i love your channel
GIIIRL!! i wanted te see you reacting in wild at heart on the bridge, that bridge is amazing :(
Dancing till we die=flawlessness
for free is a joni mitchell cover, it is absolutely beautiful!!!
The album isn’t pretentious. It’s simple and beautifully honest and maybe that what we need more of this year 🤍
caitlin can u react to florence + the machine? she has a deep voice and an interesting aesthetic. i swear u wont regret it!!
Yaassssss Florence is my no.2 after Lana !!!! She’s the best vocalist and top grade lyrics of our generation 😫😍
@@krishna-dp1hd yesssss periodt 😭😭 shes soooo underrated
Omg ever since I listened to the album yours and ajay's reaction were the only thing ive been waiting for and theyre finally here!! today is a good day
"Is this one gonna hurt? Cause its very piano already. - *squints* - piano piano piano" lmfao
