THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER COLONEL ABRAMS........ NOT EVEN CLOSE. IT BROKE MY HEART TO LEARN THAT HE WAS DEAD AND THAT HE 💔 DIED HOMELESS. I WILL CONTINUE TO LISTEN 🎶 TO HIS MUSIC.
Monica I just found out tonight that Colonel Abrams died. I just found out from you that he died homeless. That was my man back in the day. Listening to a D Train song tonight is what made me google Colonel Abrams' music. I always thought of them as similar artists.
Yes! He was an extremely talented musician who could sing, play numerous instruments; guitar, drums, piano and synthesizer. He also use to play with Prince back in the day, yes Prince.....
I see all of these comments about his dancing. I saw him perform several times at Zanzibar, Club 88, and the parties they would have at The Palladium. I think it was KTU that would have those. I don't remember him ever having any backup dancers but he always had stage presence. No special effects or anything. Just some good music and his own way of moving. Based on what I see and here today it makes me appreciate what he did even more.
A song that you simply can't just listen to, you have to get up and move. One of my all time faves from the beautiful 80's. The man had SWAG. So sad to hear of his passing. RIP Colonel. You put us all at ATTENTION!
LONG LIVE HOUSE MUSIC!🎼🎶🎤 I remember dancing to Colonel Abrams live at Zanzibar, Newark NJ- back in the day when ALL you used to do was DANCE, ALL night long-never wanting to leave the dance floor cause there was ALWAYS something Hot being played. He IS the King of HOUSE!!!!
I wish I was a lawyer. So just once I could make an objection in court and play a clip with him saying "Speculation...du du du du". The judge would fine me $100 for contempt but it would be so worth it. I still have "Trapped," "I'm not gonna let" and "Picture me in love with you" on my iPod. If Robocop had a choreographer it would be Colonel Abrams! Great music...
Colonel Abrams was a brilliant song writer with a Teddy Pendergrass type voice. He had numerous hits during the 80'S that defy time to this day. Damn I miss him!
Yes, he wore those fly suits and he was handsome with his brown hypnotic eyes gaze that would light up the room. COLONIAL ABRAMS MUSIC MATTERS PEOPLE PEACE&LOVE
No sh#t, I remember there was time I couldn't wait to turn 21, so that I could by my own liquor. Since I turned 21, it seems as if the numbers are coming at you faster and faster
The album was on FIRE ! Nobody knew where he came from , But there he was bigger than life itself. Whoever produced him knew they had GOLD in a bottle ! I never knew this song had a video (?)
I did not know there was a music video made of "Speculation"! I enjoy his voice. I enjoy the music video too! It is lively, busy, colourful and well produced!
RIP and thank you Colonial Abrams for a catalog of great music. I tried to get him to come out to our club in 2010, but we never connected. He always had those dope beats.
Yo! This is the polished version. When this track hit the NY/NJ clubs it was raw and nasty (unfiltered)! Something about that dirty bassline coming thru the club's sound system added an extra punch. The Colonel had house on lock for a minute. RIP King🙏
Thankyou oh heavenly God for giving the gift of our brother Sir Colonel Abrams please take him nto your kingdom comfort him and give him the rest he so deserves blessed out thou brother
The command, the right to say dance people! .....that was this song...loved him and seeing him perform, think it was 88 or the peppermint...best times of my life. Know he is resting in paradise.
