My wife's favorite bourbon is Makers 46. I was never a fan of Makers Mark products until I was gifted a bottle of Makers Mark 101 and everything changed haha. Now Im a huge fan of just about everything they do. Its crazy how one bottle can completely change the way you taste a certain brand.
We love the way that Makers is constantly releasing special editions and experimenting with their stave profiles. Sooner or later, it seems like one of their whiskeys strikes everybody's palate perfectly.
I love anything other than the regular makers. I’ve bought 6 bottles of makers cask strength this month. I would have bought more 46 cask strength but all I can find cost $82.00.

Makers, Elijah Craig, Jack Daniels single barrel ,barrel proof.....and when she took a couple of swigs str8 from the bottle (JD single barrel barrel proff) that was “Gangster” reminded me of my girl. Don’t concern yourself with the length of ur videos, their never too long. So from where we are to wherever u are “Cheers”
For Christmas it was a Makers avalanche. Got 101, 46 cask strength (CS), Makers CS and Samuel's SPECIAL Release CS! The 101 is light years better than the standard expression but the cask strength versions blows it away, especially the Samuels. Reminds me of pancakes w/ syrup and ice cream topping. I too was not a Makers fan. Imagine my surprise. Made me rethink the Brand. Kuddos to them. Great video

Their luxury status has diminished in our brave new world of bourbon expansions, but they are now back in the game. You two are a genuine hoot to watch and I am impressed by your quick response to comments. A class act but like me, you must have too much covid time to kill!
The first Makers that I ever had was the Cask strength and my son's and I really liked it. Then I seen a bottle of the 46 on the shelf and decided to try it. After trying it my son's prefer the Cask over the 46 and I thought it was good, but I also prefer the cask. When I see a bottle of the higher proof 46 I will buy and give it a try.
"oh yea there it comes" I havent had all of these yet but as far as a wheated bourbon goes makers is one of my favorites. Hopefully Ill be able to try all of these together soon! Awesome review. Cheers.

I know this is older but looking at Maker's 46. Enjoyed the video! You two always make me smile. Caught the virus and spent nearly a month in the hospital. Home with O2 now. Can't wait to recover fully and get back to normal! Should I go lower proof until I get my legs back? Lol

The Makers Cask Strength batch 20-02 was really good!! The Cask Strength 21-01 needs to open up a little more... and that Makers 101 is really really good!! Not a huge wheated bourbon fan, really don’t like Larceny as much anymore.. Your videos are good stuff !!

Just did a blind test of 5 Makers Mark yesterday and the 46 came ou t first. Didn't have the 46 Cask Strength but beat out the two higher proof. MM as a whole is OK as but not something I search out on a regular basis.
I like MM but I agree with you on the cask strength. It overpowers with alcohol to me and is very unpleasant for sipping. I use it for Manhattans but it also can overpower them. Too boozy IMO.

Ouch! The last one which is the one you guys denigrate, is the one I'm drinking tonight. It's not that bad considering most of the bottles I've been drinking are in the twenty dollar range. I've been upping my game, though. I'm shopping at Total Wine & More (awesome store in CA) and joined a whiskey of the month club.' By the way, I don't think the cask whiskey bottle was that bad. I quite enjoyed it!

What batch is your cask strength? I have a recent batch that has a wonderful nose and rivals Weller 107 and Van Winkle 10. I’ve heard some of the older batches were a bit harsh compared to the recent ones.

We have not seen a bottle of Parker's Heritage yet. It's very high on our list. The 46 Cask Strength seemed like it was going to be great, but it didn't open up nearly as well as we hoped it would. That bottle is a one and done for us. We us it to make maple syrup old fashioned cocktails these days.
Makers Mark was the first bourbon I had - Eastern Kentucky University in 1992. It is still my absolute favorite bourbon.

The first Makers that I ever had was the Cask strength and my son's and I really liked it. Then I seen a bottle of the 46 on the shelf and decided to try it.
