Thanks the camera used for this is a fantastic unit when it comes to smoothing out the bumps. It is also very small and sits nicely on a tripod that straddles the centre console in the SUV.
The GE AC6000's are one of my favorite GE locomotives out of all other GE's don't care what anybody says even SD70ace's don't have nothing on those big beast!!!
See you've been to the West again Rod!!,great pacing shot, that service road is smoother than a lot of the highways!!. Deep pockets can get you some nice trackwork ,can't they!!
The video looks like it is the Cowra - Gidgi area. Has some fond memories as I was involved in the duplication of this line a couple of years ago. I think the movement of the bogie on the AC6000 is a good indication of why BHPB did not go for steerable bogies on the SD70ACe's. With a main line radius of 900m minimum there is perhaps little benefit in terms of steerable bogies anyway....
That is my #2 camera usually used for shots not requiring any manipulation of controls. It is a SONY HDR CX700VE. A good unit but too small for my maulers.
That really was a smooth video! My pacing videos can only aspire to be this nice. I did just get a new HD camera that'll hopefully be steadier than my old one. And excellent work on catching the hunting of that GE's truck. Just kind of makes one wish there had been a GoPro camera mounted on the engine frame or fuel tank shooting that action up close. All that, and great audio too! 2 thumbs up from me.
a y se me olvidaba se ve de maravilla como se mueven los Trucks de la maquina Remota 6077 la neta me la jale con tu video compa jajajajajajajaja perrisimo de los mejores videos que he visto
Wow great australia is using some of the locomotives we use here in the United States! hah awesome you should come to the usa and railfan! tons of trains!! haha anyways great video!!!
That's a helluva right of way! almost looks fake. Amazing how steady the whole train is, except for that wobbly truck on the GE unit! How fast was the train going?
nomames we que video tan mas perron we chingon chingon super chingon excelente como me gustan esos trenes Australianos chida esa persecucion la neta compa ay te van no 5 sino 10* y te sigo deviendo estrellas y a favoritos Saludos amigo desde Guadalajara Jalisco Mexico
The British 66 class is an EMD and they are now also being used on the continent. The small loading gauge in the UK and Europe determines that there will never be any US style monsters running there.
Did you use image stabilisation on that Rod because the train is rock-steady but your 4WD is clearly moving around quite a bit. Also I wonder if that AC6000 is still rated @ 6000 HP.
You sure aint upsetting me but I strongly suggest that you have your eyes tested or figure out what's wrong with your monitor. My early HD vids were shot interlaced which doesn't do so well when rendered to wmv for computer viewing. The last couple of years I shot progressive and I saw a big improvement. That aside after almost 13,000,000 views you are the first to raise the issue so I respectfully suggest that the problem is at your end.
I was super drunk last night and I meant decimal form not decimate. Australians and us Canadians seem to always utilise both Metric and Imperial measurements. We normally use km for long distance, mph or kmph for speed, meters over yards, feet and inches over centimeters and millimeters. Although when anything has to be precisely measured I find we always use the more accurate Metric system.
Rod, is that a fair comparison between the two bogie types? The first set are riding true and steady, the second rocking and rolling like an N Class :) Cheers Rod Young
I know that the majority of the big GE's y'all have down there are 6,000 hp, but what about the EMD's ?? any SD90mAC's with the 265H prime mover ?? p.s. love your vids, you seem to be the authority on 'down under' railfanning.
Thanks and doing the equation 1km is 5/8 of 1 mile and in reverse 8/5 of 1 is 1.6. I was educated during the metric changeover in Australia and am happy dealing with metric or imperial or even the US version of a ton and no disrespect to you but you really need to look up the meaning of decimate as it has no relationship to decimal, metric or anything else mathematical.
Yes it is. I didn't know I posted it. Look up a guy named Rod Williams on You-Tube. He has a ton of stuff posted from Australia. Hope your Thanksgiving was a full one.
sadly the railroad is a dying breed in the us...... so much abandoned rail in the north east.. but you should come and check it out either way there is still some great lines to record. id say mostly out by Chicago and that area..
the AC6000s have been replaced by the SD-70 s . They had eight of them , and the high cost of sending them out of the country means they will be scrapped
Holy crap, Batman!! Did you hear those rails 'a singin' '. This has gotta be one of your best. Thanks, Rod.
Thanks the camera used for this is a fantastic unit when it comes to smoothing out the bumps. It is also very small and sits nicely on a tripod that straddles the centre console in the SUV.
Well done Rod. Great video. Great sounds of the Loco's. Bring on more of the Pilbara Iron Ore Trains.
WOW, Australian Trains Are AWESOME! A lot of American Manufactured Locos too! Like that SD70ACE and The AC6000
I don't think I've ever seen track that smooth.
That GE locomotive trucks are just swinging!
The GE AC6000's are one of my favorite GE locomotives out of all other GE's don't care what anybody says even SD70ace's don't have nothing on those big beast!!!
Terrence Goodwin umm they are rusting in the desert these days.
The best video capture of running diesel locomotive I have ever seen.
Those beasts are just singing! Very nice
Great vid - that bogie on the loco had got a bot of a shimmy on!
See you've been to the West again Rod!!,great pacing shot, that service road is smoother than a lot of the highways!!. Deep pockets can get you some nice trackwork ,can't they!!
Very nicely done, Sir.
THANKS YOU for the video.
Saludos from:new York, go aust.
Unfortunately Rod Williams, the guy who made the video, died a few years ago from cancer.
watching the bogies on the GE loco at 3:08 .... wow thats a lot of shaking
Love that AC6000CW!
Really a great train video. Thanks. 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks, I was pleased with the end result myself.
Great footage as usual, Rod.
helllyea full power hear that 16-HDL roar.
Its christmas; what a gift
Michel
the onee time GE and EMD truly work together..
The video looks like it is the Cowra - Gidgi area. Has some fond memories as I was involved in the duplication of this line a couple of years ago.

Great catch. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Zach!
Damn they even have bells on them like here in the states. Amazing how similar they are to our railroads.
Love Trains
BHP Biliton ore!
amazing sound!!!! Regards from Poland
The sound of power!

That's a helluva right of way! almost looks fake. Amazing how steady the whole train is, except for that wobbly truck on the GE unit!
How fast was the train going?
There is roughly one each way per hour and serious consideration is being given to being in the USA next year.
nice video! now i wanna go to australia and chase trains :D
Muito fera amigo!!!!perseguindo o trem em altissima velocidade!!!!Show vídeo foi compartilhado no meu facebook!!!!!!
+Leonardo dos Santos qual é o Facebook?

haha man you should come to the usa they have trains like these but probably 60 or 70 in one day some times even more
Good day mate! First class railroad you got there. Looks like a good way to spend a day.
what are the two blue tanks for on the AC6000?..awesome video and also do u know if anyone is making those ore cars in HO scale?
Air tanks!
3:00 , that bogie had a bit of a wobble on.
That orange and black looks like a ex Mt Newman train from the 70s 80s
Looks like the left rear truck on the blue loco needs a rebuild. Looks like it has some wobble to it.
Great vid!
The camera has a great stabiliser. No editing required.
The British 66 class is an EMD and they are now also being used on the continent. The small loading gauge in the UK and Europe determines that there will never be any US style monsters running there.
The GE has Hunting Oscillation
I can only gas that the tanks are air reservoirs and not a clue as to the cars being made in HO but I somehow doubt it.
What kind of bogies are those! They look intense 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
the BHP Iron ore?
G.e.#6077 seems to have a problem with it's rear "truck"its got a "wobble' on the inside outside wheel which is making the truck "wobble"as well
Did you use image stabilisation on that Rod because the train is rock-steady but your 4WD is clearly moving around quite a bit. Also I wonder if that AC6000 is still rated @ 6000 HP.
Muito legal um show a parte ! PARABÉNS
that equals to 50 ,60, 70 mph nice shots

There is a lot of movement in the rear truck (4th axle)of the GE AC 6000,it looks like future trouble to me ?
Do you remember how fast they are traveling?
I was super drunk last night and I meant decimal form not decimate. Australians and us Canadians seem to always utilise both Metric and Imperial measurements. We normally use km for long distance, mph or kmph for speed, meters over yards, feet and inches over centimeters and millimeters. That GE is missing a windshield wiper
Very awesome video liked it very much can't wait to see more
It will be missing a lot more than that by now.
Woopty fuckin’ do!
Rod, is that a fair comparison between the two bogie types? The first set are riding true and steady, the second rocking and rolling like an N Class :)
Cheers
Rod Young
That puppy looked like it was hauling ass. What was it speed?
RIP 6077
I wonder how far ahead the engines on the point were?
AWESOME
I know that the majority of the big GE's y'all have down there are 6,000 hp, but what about the EMD's ?? any SD90mAC's with the 265H prime mover ?? p.s. love your vids, you seem to be the authority on 'down under' railfanning.
Yea FMG iron ore has ex-UP sd90mac43. I not sure as to how many.
All the ac6000s are scrapped they're crap. No 6000hp emd either, same reason.
Thanks and doing the equation 1km is 5/8 of 1 mile and in reverse 8/5 of 1 is 1.6. That's some epic stabilization! What type of camera do you own?
How many wagons are connected to the loco???
No mud holes there. Bet the ARTC had nothing to do with laying that track.
35 - 45 mph . MPH is 5/8 of KPH
Nice!!
and how many trains run this line a day??
about 60 - 70 kph
What's the top speed of that railroad?
Anyone know where in Australia this is? Looks like a cool location to shoot trains.
Puget Sound Rail Productions western Australia. Port hedland-newman.
I like
How fast were you going? Seems a pretty fast clip.
It's either 224 or 232
About 70km/h
...wow...
It can get to 50C/112F
*122F
Not certain but I think 70-75km/h
Rod Williams 80
Definitely all welded rail.
Yes it is. I didn't know I posted it. Look up a guy named Rod Williams on You-Tube. He has a ton of stuff posted from Australia. Hope your Thanksgiving was a full one.

Not here in The Seattle Tacoma Metropolitan area. railroads continue to Live!
Very sad AC6000 gone
SD70ACe sending back to USA
No disrespect, but in decimate its 1.6 km per mile.
I'm not meaning to upset you but most of your vids are blurry which is a shame considering the time and effort you have put into making them.
Those are normal rads.
Australia uses a lot of the same stuff north American uses sd70 is a popular loco in the us
the AC6000s have been replaced by the SD-70 s . They had eight of them , and the high cost of sending them out of the country means they will be scrapped
cw60ac sounds so much better
