Mo Abudu has always been a source of inspiration. I've always wanted to know the story of her journey to the top. This interview gave me a sneak peek into that.

You are a Nigerian heroine Mo Abudu. Thank you for making a difference. Please use your platform to encourage our youths to embrace science and industry. I love your spirit.

Inasmuch as there exists a depiction of Africa as a land filled with destitution, poverty and hunger, the incessant talk about "rebranding" Africa and correcting the "negative" stereotypes is quite misleading. In Nigeria (I am a citizen of the country), there are still desperately poor people that are not properly reported on by the press. Instead, you hear about the Africa rising mantra - when in reality the majority of the people doing well in the economic boom experienced by the continent's economies, have been the political elites and well educated people. Far from being negatively portrayed, huge swathes of the continent have not been adequately covered to show the experiences of the typical Nigerian - and African - to the world.

Do you desire to be regarded as the perpetual beggar? Or do you desire to be seen as the giant that rises and keep rising from her ashes? Your choice?
