This laser measure is second generation of very popular GLM 50 C model which I'm using for about 4 years. Bosch added some new extra features like robust construction, green laser technology, haptic feedback and support of lithium ion battery ( CGL model ), And these are enough for me to upgrade. Personally I prefer AA battery slot over li-ion on these kind of measure devices, the reason is I'm using Panasonic eneloop pro Ni-MH AA 2500 mAh rechargeable batteries on all my laser measure and level devices, they last much much longer with the benefit of in case you forgot to charge li-ion batteries or they die in middle of project you don't have to wait for charging and you can use normal or alkaline AA which are available every where and saves you precious site time. Tip: get a bunch of these eneloop pro batteries and you're done :) Thanks for the review and cheers.
Hey Mehdi. I have been using the old GLM80 for sometime now. This does feel like a nice upgrade. It is also quicker at getting the measurement which is something I noticed only a couple days ago. As for your battery suggestion, great idea! I definitely think that I will do that.

Great tools, you can buy lithium ion battery for your laser measure. The battery comes with an USB C port. I also have the belt clip for this tool, which I bought separately.

They dont have a pc connectivity app. But I managed to write one. Im sending measurements from frames to the cutting machine while walking around the workshop. Its a very durable and user friendly device.
Im also using GLM 50 quite often, but I found that the battery would run out for no reason and even I ever use it. I send to service Centre and they reply that is normal. Too bad it is not friendly user

Problem with the MeasureOn thing, is it limited to a an empty floor/surface, you cant add other elements such as steps, pillars, different wall heights, etc... not all rooms or spaces are empty . The app is lacking so many things, thus not really useful. Pen and paper wins still
It's a great product, but do you know how to use the tape measure. Like if you're wanna measure a table, can you make a video of that ? Because a table have no wall, so where to start ? Kind regards Ray
Hello Ray! You do still need something for the laser to hit. The tape measure mode can be used for setting out for example, however you do still need a surface for it to work properly.
I also use this unit now for a couple months. I have the rechargable Version. Its a nice Laser. You deffently have a learn curve with the App. It is handy as someone like you and me if you also need to calculate cost estimates and material use or for an engineer but its to much for the regular tradie.
I want to use such a device with a plastic corner-cube reflector plate, which reflects THOUSANDS as much back in the direction of the emitter than a white paper-like surface. (See Lambertian reflector.) I want to measure 500, 1000, 2000 meters, with a resolution of 1 millineter . Problem is, I don't think the device will 'wait for' such a delayed reflection, even when it arrives late.
Good Vid Does it add up all of the measurements somewhere or is it just a visual of a series of measurements - Say im measuring skirtings once compiled all of the measurements will it then tell you a total. cant find this feature Cheers
I haven't used the glm50c, however I do still have the old glm80. If you already have a functioning laser, I wouldn't bother with the upgrade unless you really need the Bluetooth functionality.

Does it measure from the front of the device or calculate taking into account the length of the device. For example, when the device is butted up against a wall and it measures distance to the other wall, does it take into account the length of the device due to the laser being at the front of the. device
Are these also good for measuring surface areas like deep fat fryer ranges? I’m looking at buying one for easy work outs on surface areas and general room sizes for working out fire extinguisher ratings on buildings and surface areas, does is work in cm?
Your videos are spectacular, my compliments. Please, I just bought this measuring tape to replace my GLM80, but my measuring tape came without audible feedback in the bubble level and inclinometer function, I mean: when leveling the surfaces, zeroing the degree I don't have any audible feedback, which is very bad , because I cannot always maintain eye contact with the measuring tape display. So please answer me, does your laser tape measure also behave like this? Would you know how to connect this audible feedback to the bubble level and inclinometer function? Hey mate! I've got the GBH 18v-26 It's great! Breezes through whatever I throw at it. Bosch actually have a stack of more hi-powered options on the market. The one I use is on the lower end of the scale but it's plenty for what I do. 💪

Be careful guys I bought one months ago in Australia and it's always 2~4mm out. And Bosch says it's normal and acceptable. They even can't recalibrate it saying it is what it is. No precision with this tool and not the best customer service here in Australia. Maybe just mine? I don't know. I'll never buy Bosch's again anyway.
@@viking.designs I bought it for fix out measuring window jamb to jamb for arcs or skirtings. I sent it twice to Bosch and they say it's all good🤣. It could be just mine but not the best service. They can't even recalibrate. So I just bought a rubbish.
I use it in the sun all the time. It's harder to read and to spot the laser but is still definitely possible. It's much better than the old red lasers.

If you do it all via Bluetooth, it may give you a total but not in the device itself.
None of you guys doing reviews show how to use the indirect measurement function.
How does it compare with GLM50C? its look has similar functions with new cover design only.
I haven't used the glm50c, however I do still have the old glm80. If you already have a functioning laser, I wouldn't bother with the upgrade unless you really need the Bluetooth functionality.
Thats true, the PCB board is almost identical but GLM50 27 CG has better interface and better design.

You can select where the measurement is taken from, front or rear of the device.

Hey mate. They're great for working out areas, in squares of cubes. It does work in CM, mm, inches etc.

It does. Obviously depends how far you're aiming it. But we use it all the time in the day on residential construction sites

Hey! Yes, it all exports as one pdf. From there you can print from your android device if you have a printer connected via wifi

Haven't had a go of it in fog unfortunately so it's hard for me to answer.
