Great video. Just fyi.. you can pop just the button out with a plastic pry tool. No need to remove the vent and entire cluster. Just wedge the pry tool and gently pop the button and then go about shaving the tabs and just push the button back in when done and it clips back into place.
Nicely done and delivered Tommy, did the switch before sunrise and received my new VeePeak today. Going to code the rear fogs right now. Keep up the great work brother. Michel
In the USA spec BMW’s those are actually the extra brake lamps that come on to let people behind you know you’re braking rapidly. It’s called Brake Force Display. Don’t know if this modification interferes with that functionality.
Tommy thank you for this clear video. I just did this on my 2016 F33 which I will be taking with me to Europe. It is mandatory there to have these rear fog lights.
i did this to my e92 years ago before i traded it in for my 440 (it didnt require coding just modding the switch). I think its a great safety feature and im surprised the nanny state govt doesnt require them on new vehicles. I also had tinted windows on the e92 and they were actually so bright they helped my visibility when backing up at night lol. You are edging me closer and closer into buying bimmercode btw hahaha
This is a must for any modern BMW IMO. I did it on my e92 335i n54. For my e90 M3 I bought the euro switch just bc. Interesting that the F80 need coding. The older bmws. You just need to do the LEGO or buy the euro switch. And it’s enabled.

Good video Tom.Fog light on this car kinda dim to be functional but if they would be bright as they should be only one side should be lit.I guess it looks good that's what matters..
I defined fleek -- you didn't hold up your end of the deal! XD just kidding, Tommy. Excellent video! On my car the rear fog light is only on the driver's side tail light. It makes my tail lights look broken lol in the US anyway. If I was in Europe, people would obviously know what it was
Hi Tommy, I have a 2020 M4. I bought the light switch from overseas that has both the front and rear fog lamp capabilities. I coded in the rear lamps from forums (and watching your vid...thanks!) I've visited but I'm having trouble finding the right codes to change my front corner lights to fog lights. I can't seem to locate in my front electronic module what they're referencing. Any help/insight you or anyone else could provide would be greatly appreciated. I'm not a coder, so the more detailed the directions, the better. Maybe I'm just missing the right sub-module to go to... Thanks!
Quick question, does Coding (like what you did in the video) void the warranty? It looks like there is a lot of neat options but worried if I tinker with some of these that BMW will void my warranty.
Hello Tommy, Do you know if the 2014 F30's comes pre-wired for front fog lights as well,l just like rare, as you have shown. My F30 does not have front fog light I was planning to install one.
So many Americans drive around with their fog lights on constantly that it has become a joke in Germany, sort of like why cup holders are important to Americans. Additionally Americans are not aware of rear fog lights and most think it is a failed brake light....so the Germans are compensating for incompetence......Now if they could only send the cars here with self actuating turn signals!😎
Hey Tommy. I’ve just tried this and for some reason when completing the steps for the front control section, I can’t back out to perform the rear module steps. Seems I have to hit “Code” button first the exit to the rear module section? Have you heard of this?
I once decided to enable the rear fog lights on my BMW X5. Then I was stopped by police and the officer stated "I seen you pressing the brakes but aren't slowing down". I then never used it again.
i’ve just coding everything the same and now my drivers side rear fog won’t turn off. any help? i’m tried reverting the coding and it doesn’t change anything
Hey Tommy, I coded the features and I get the light on the dash but no changes in my taillights when pressing the button on or off.. Do u think maybe the F83 doesn't have the light bulbs installed?
I was just watching this video and I had an idea come to my mind. I don't know if it's possible but can that top button be used as the mute button for your radar detector if you can of mod it.
One step that is not shown here is that when you are finished making changes in each module, you have to select "CODE" before leaving that module, otherwise your changes will be lost. In this video it was already done previously, so it is missing the step showing that you actually have to select "CODE" to get the code written to the module.

I really don't get it why they would disable this function for the US market, it makes literally no sense. Everything is there, the lights, the switch, the cables, everything connected and prepared, why even go the extra mile to make extra buttons to disable the function? taking everything out or just leaving it working in the car would make sense, but leaving it and actively disabling it? wtf
