    Which do you think works best as a pedal platform? In your particular setup and opinion :)

    • @j-man9457
      @j-man9457  2 года назад +4

      Hey Micky! They are both very good. The US version needs more gain to overdrive the amp so I guess if one wants a super clean amp as a pedal platform, the US would be the better choice. But both the UK and US handle pedals extremely well. No issues at all. I'm just a fair guitar player and I'm not super anal about my sound lol so either amp is great for me. I think for transparency the US may be the better choice. The UK seems to always add little hair to the notes in my opinion... not a bad thing, it just is what it is😀

    Hey J, came here to see some quilter content, you play very well congratz, I wonder there is no much content about quilter, its seems a realliable amp in a box for me, but now that the amped1 by blackstar has released, I'll might consider and play to see which fits more to my needs, keep it up!

    • @j-man9457
      @j-man9457  2 года назад +1

      Hey Armando,
      Thanks for commenting! I don't know about the amped1 so I can't comment. The quilter amps have been around for years and are very solid and reliable. The SuperBlock amps are relatively new, but again very well built, solid electronics inside a metal housing. Also, they sound great with whatever guitar or effect you choose to put in front of them.
      I do know this... Pat Quilter, was the founder of QSC amplification. QSC is very high end sound gear. The design and technology of the QSC products allow for light weight yet very powerful sound gear. Pat left QSC years ago to focus on his passion which was guitar and base amps. The thought process and tecnology of QSC which is basically: simple, light weight, powerful and reliable, goes into every quilter amp. I've only had my SuperBlocks for a few months now but they have proven to be very capable in any situation. Home use, Live gigging, with a cab or with out, these SB amps can do it all well. I have a 200W Quilter Tone Block 202 which I have had for years and it still works and preforms just like the day I received it.
      Hope that helps.
      The Amp1 sounds interesting. Let me know what you decide to go with and how you like it!😀

      @@mandin182 Hey Armando,
      So I looked up the amp1 and it's a cool pedal amp for sure. I think the difference is this: the quilter is a no frills guitar head with reverb and simple voicings. That's it. It sounds great and 25 watts is lots of power for live club gigging. I use only use a 10 inch speaker cab with mine and it's all kinds of stage volume for the stage.
      The amp1 is similar to a point but it looks like it has a whole other tube simulation circuit built in. Cool concept, but any amp that I've played in the past that had tube switching or tube simulation was just ok... at the end of the day, you can get any amp to sound how you want it to sound with the correct pedal board. Here in Canada the Amp1 is double the price of the superblock. For me the added features of tube switching, and the ability to connect to software to simulate cab size or mic placement or reverb type, is not something I personally look for in an amp. I just want an amp that responds to my playing style, and any extras I can achieve ith simple pedals... I'm old school though so donxt let me influence your decision. I think whichever amp you decide on, you'll be happy.... I do think that as far as media goes, if an amp is good, you don't have to push advertising to sell it. 😁
      Cheers!

      @@j-man9457 Thats true, for sure the amp1 has more features but for double the price (I'm in Canada too :) ) is not worth for my needs. its just a product that was released now and I noticed that has some similarities with quilter, I've been playing with my fender hotrod for 10y now, But now I need something simple, quiet and reliable that I can take on my pedalboard and have controll of my sound, I'm tired of going to rehearsals and having to use bunch of different amps and tweak them to get a decent sound that my hotrod has (too heavy to transport and rehearse with) and I know that these solid stats are going to be diffenrent sound that my tube, but I'll try anyway, That's true, if the amp is good, is good, let's see, I'll try it and I'll let you know my impressions, thanks again! and happy thanksgiving

      @@mandin182 I like the idea of the extra features, but for me it's not something I use, so I rather not pay for something Ixm not gonna use. The hortod amps are a beast! I used to have one. They're awesome but also big and heavy... There is a hot rod that I use where we practice and when I got my Super Block US I took it to practice and unplugged the speaker from the hotrod amp and used the quilter through the hotrod cab other than the volume (hotrod is rediculously loud haha) on the 57 voicing, the quilter was very close in sound to the hotrod. The boys in the band and myself couldn't believe it haha. I don't think you can go wrong with one of the SuperBlock. If you by through Amazon or Cosmo musique, you have 30 days to return if you don't like it so no risk really😁
      Anyway, my fellow canadian, take care and happy thanks giving!

    • @j-man9457
      @j-man9457  Год назад

      Hey David,
      I don't find that the cleans are "better" as the UK cleans up nicely. However I do find the US has "more" cleans if that makes any sense... example, with the volume at 10 o'clock and the limiter at 3 o'clock, which is usually where I have them, the UK starts breaking up when the gain reaches 12 o'clock whereas the the US only starts breaking up at around 2 o'clock. That's with Telecaster pickups, which is pretty much all I use 😉
      Hope that helps
