To get a good look at Irish Pagan Beliefs, there are three things we’ll need to take into account:
- historic pagan beliefs, ie, pre christian native spirituality
- the blend of christian and pagan beliefs through folklore and culture
- modern pagan beliefs, ie, neo pagan spirituality and organisation.
(Briefly though, coz any of those things are an essay in their own right. We’ll keep it simple enough here.)

Thanks for sending this to my e-mail. I'm sharing it with friends as a good summary of the spiritual path I'm now following and why I'm attracted to it. Some of them have even been "worried" about me, so I hope this will go a long way toward correcting some of those fears and misinformation.
I really enjoyed this video, I would have missed it on your blog. I especially enjoy the history of Irish Paganism. I'm interested to know a little more about the attitude of the Catholic church recently towards IP.

My mum is Irish, but I “am” English. I was educated by English nuns & by comparison, some of my mother’s beliefs are obviously rooted in Paganism, which is fine by me because it makes a lot more sense to me than following an Eastern mystery cult.

We really need more people like Lora O'Brien - i've just being informed/seen a fake creation story of Eiocha thats doing the rounds and is even used to teach school children! We should always be careful of fauxlore.
