A simple introduction to Negative Painting

Using watercolor it's a fun technique to create layers in you artwork. The easiest way to gain a full understanding of how to negative paint is to start with the simplest shape, a circle. Starting with circles is probably the easiest way to go through the layering process. Next, try another simple shapes. Gradually your mind will see the negative space easier with each practice painting.
