It's good seeing Dave & Terry talk about the golden days of wrestling. I was raised in Michigan so I'm remembering my childhood. Thank you Rudy Hill for bringing this to us. Wow we got old fast can't believe I was in junior high school.

Saw "Killer" Brooks many times here in Toledo. His chain matches were awesome, with plenty of blood shed by both wrestlers. You mentioned his elbow pad, but I remember it being told that he had a steel bar implanted in his arm, that he used to beat his opponents.

He wrestled as T. Texas Brooks for a few months in West Virginia at the promotion shown on WOAY tv 4 in Oak Hill, WVA. This was during the early 1970s, probably 1970 or 1971. He would file his teeth with a nail file. He was the top heel in that promotion, which at one time, if I recall, was called American International Wrestling. He wrestled with a brother called Jim Brooks. The fans hated him. I believe he had the cigar then and would burn faces with it. I thought maybe the Shiek had something to do with the Oak Hill promotion but never knew.
