Love 💕 and light to all 💕 ❤❤😊 I just purchased my first diesel heater like the one you showed in the video so I am learning more about the process of using it watching the video. Thanks 🙏 😊
Fantastic video. I am installing one in my ‘78 T2 right now. One thing I discovered is there is a small drip hole in the muffler that allows internal condensation to drip from the silencer. They recommend mounting it so the drip hole points down.
Just finished installing this weekend. Thank you for this video. I’ve more or less copied and pasted everything that you’ve shown here. So satisfying when it all works perfectly!😊
I used same box on t4 although i found the box rattled, ended up using some sound deadening products to dampen the lid , the panels & also top between it & underside of van
Great video thank you , do you really need to pull air in from the van ? Can you pull air in from outside instead of cutting a hole and running the inlet up into the van well done good luck 👍👍👍🏴🇬🇧🇨🇦🦢
Yewwwww Bulli is ready for a Pyrenees winter return! Do you know if there is room to mount the box 90 degrees rotated, so both inlet and outlet holes are located under the bench seat in a T3 Caravelle?? (i.e under where your rock n roll bed is)
You can buy 4 Chinese heaters for the price of one of the ones you are showing , I fitted my heater 6years ago one only had one set of plugs in that time
There are always people having a discussion about if you weather should get the air flow inlet inside the van or outside from fresh air, I see you get the air from the inside right? This solution is also more safe that you dont get exhaust inside right?
I like to recirculate the air from the inside as the air will already be warmer, less chance of bringing in exhaust, and the heater will be more economical too
16:30 Żubrówka! One of us! ;-) BTW, do you have dimensions of that steel box? I found a neat place under my long Peugeot Rifter next to the spare wheel and I wonder if I could fit the heater there as inside there is obviously little space for everything. Thanks!
Great install and vlog… can I ask why you didn’t fit a fuel filter to the fuel line as you would get small bits going into your fuel pump.. love my heater and is a game changer in the winter months
Hello, can you fit the exhaust of the heater directly to the exhaust silencer of the van ? (I'm building my own silencer out of stainless steel, so no big trouble making it fit)
I wouldn't, you can't be sure that the pressure of the vans exhaust gasses don't break your heater or come back through etc when driving. Worst case is filling your van with exhaust fumes while you drive. Not worth the risk in my opinion without a valve or solenoid etc.
This is not advised. The instruction are clear in that the exhaust provided should be used and it would likely negate any warranty if improper installation was carried out. Leigh
Never saw anyone mount the heater outside of any unit. Its usually mounted inside and the pump is mounted outside because of the constant pumping noise they make. What happens is you have to travel threw a washout or water a foot deep.lol
Thanks for replying I am just in the middle of fitting a Chinese heater to my t4 (sorry but that’s my budget) and it came with a filter ,I am fitting the pump and filter under the van in water proof electric boxes to prevent road debris? Don’t know if this a good method or not? Any comments would be appreciated thanks
@@michaellittler2616 nothing wrong with the cheaper chinese made heaters, I have run one for several years without having to strip it down to clean. Two things that I do is and it depends how much you use it but run it on high for half hour or so to burn off the carbon deposits especially after it’s been used on low for a while. The second thing that I have done is fit an isolation switch so that the display is not illuminated when not in use as the LEDs do tend to go dim, also the display is very bright especially when you are trying to sleep. As Lee says protecting parts from the weather is a great idea.
Look great quality as you say, are they still made in Russia and if so what is spares availability like since sanctions came in ? I've had a Chinese heater running 3-4 years now just wondering in case of failure 😂
From the Autoterm face book group. "They used to be made in Russia but the company is owned by Ukrainian people and they no longer live in Russia. The heaters are now made in Latvia."
The heater tube is mildly insulated and lined with a reflective material. Generally the run from heater to interior is short, but there is no reason why you couldn’t spend the extra time to do it to yours.
You are an excellent presenter. Clear and engaging. Good enough to present a TV programme.
Thank you! If you know of any jobs going 😛

What a great spot to mount the heater as not much room inside a T3.
It’s very convenient!
We have the Autoterm heater. It is brilliant. Great video.
Thank you :)
did you fabricate the metal box your self or did it come with the kit, if you did make it what would it cost to make another pleae
Great video. Very helpful. 👍
is there not a worry using a t-piece on the fuel line that you will empty the vehicle deisel tank whilst parked up running the heater??

You mounted the silencer on it’s side. Does that not prevent the weep hole from draining properly?

It could be located under the seat, yes
I want something like this, but my T25 is petrol. I love the install location, I think I'll get in touch and find out what you can do for me.
Hi Ben, we can certainly help. In a petrol vehicle we would add a small diesel tank in a convenient location that would be topped up independently
You can buy 4 Chinese heaters for the price of one of the ones you are showing , I fitted my heater 6years ago one only had one set of plugs in that time
That’s great news! Sometimes you get lucky with Chinese diesel heaters, however as retailers and fitters, we can’t take the risk. Happy travels :)
Hi. My heater just pumps the fuel into the heater and floods it. Brande new out of the box. The unit won't fire up. Help lol

Good question! There is not a filter in the kit, but there is no reason why you couldnt
Is this sort of install available on a Transit Custom? Really like that the heater is outside the van…..
Yes of course. In fact we fitted one this week. Please email info@combevalleycampers.Co.uk if you would like more information
What did you use to protect the metal areas where you cut?
For the time being I’ve just used an automotive spray paint, but the whole chassis will be under sealed soon

They do a lovely exhaust silencer on ebay makes em really quiet in various colours about 18 pounds good quality to
Sorry a 10 er now not 18
Silly question but I assume that you wouldn't be able to install this in a petrol vehicle. Mines a 1990 VW T3 1.9 dg petrol engine.
Yes it’s entirely possible, you would just need the addition of a diesel tank mounted inside the van :)
What is the approx cost of buying and you installing please ?
Hi Angie, please email info@combevalleycampers.co.uk with more details and we will be happy to help. :)

Please email info@combevalleycampers.Co.uk and we shall chat further!
Hi Leigh I was just wondering did you fit a filter for diesel? Or did I miss that bit? Thanks showing this video
There isn’t a filter in the kit but it is worth considering for sure.
I removed my filter as it just kept leaking & i was more concerned about it being vunerable to damage from the road as it was plastic

Anything you can do to protect your gear from the elements is a bonus I’d say, just make sure they are easily accesible

If trie to connect heaters exhaust in to main exhaust same like fuel supply? 😊
do not .. when the vehicle is being driven , the engine exhaust could be pushed through the heater & fill the cabin with engine exhaust fumes
As mentioned this is not recommended at all. Please keep the exhaust fitted as directed in the instruction manual
Is that 2 kw how much are they

From the Autoterm face book group. "They used to be made in Russia but the company is owned by Ukrainian people and they no longer live in Russia. The heaters are now made in Latvia."
As @grandadmark7639 has commented, the Company is owned by a Ukrainian family, and after the conflict started all operations were moved to Latvia.
Don't you insulate hot air duct into van ?
The heater tube is mildly insulated and lined with a reflective material. Generally the run from heater to interior is short, but there is no reason why you couldn’t spend the extra time to do it to yours.
Not keen on wood floor showing underneath eeekkkk
It’s the wood of the unit. When the van gets restored (which won’t be too long hopefully) I shall be welding up along the unnecessary holes :)
