Made in America, Or Not Made At All.
I finally received my Henry 41 Magnum yesterday. I can't wait to get into this thing!
Got into it. What a sweet rifle. Accurate with low recoil
This guy is just as much a gentleman as he is a marksman. And what a knowledgeable and humble guy.Awsome shooting and great video's.Keep up the good work. What a fun channel to watch.
We couldn't be happier to have 22Plinkster on board. Glad you're enjoying the videos and be sure to check out his main channel here if you haven't already! ruclips.net/user/22plinkster
Heck. Three of my .41 mag. M-58s are older than this guy. Vintage 1964. Such a fine year. Always wanted a lever action.41 mag. But a loading gate is required. I may be old fashioned, but not ancient age.
that is so sweet. as a younger man i enjoyed shooting with my uncle and his 41 mag i felt like the king of the world when i hit that old menacing fence post lol.
Thanks for watching Bill!
Still waiting (impatiently) for the .327 Fed Mag model. I've been wanting one of those for years, and I was as giddy as a kid on Christmas when Henry announced they were making them.
I've owned several .41 Magnums, still wish I had my 4-inch Model 57 Smith & Wesson. Was a Vermont Constable's gun for his entire career. I ended up with it, carried it and shot it awhile. Bills forced me to sell it. I prefer the round over the .44 Magnum. I've had and owned both, a couple of Blackhawks, a Smith & Wesson and a Marlin lever. It's a great round that handloading makes even better.
Very true Bayan1905. That's the only way I can afford to shoot. I have a NMB 6.5 barrel and the Henry BBS in .41. And just love them both. Just wished there were more bullet weights available.
Love the 41 mag. And this rifle it is definitely my next purchase.
Nice. My favorite cartridge in a nice Henry. I have a 41 in a Marlin but I'd still like to get my hands on one of these as well... Nice gun, info, and shooting.
Nice and I definitely agree the 41 is overlooked and it is a great cartridge
It seems like it ever got its glory and credit that was due it😊
I don't own any henry rifles . You guys have my attention . Very interested in the single shots . Wish you had one in the 30 30 caliber . And very smart move with. 22 plinkster he is a gentleman and has come a long way.
Thanks very much for the kind words sir! We're really happy to be working with 22Plinkster, so I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying the content so far. No plans for a single shot .30-30 yet, but I would imagine that it will probably happen at some point in the future.
Henry single shots are now made in .223, .357, .44 Magnum, .30-30, .308, .243, .45-70, .350 Legend and .450 Bushmaster.
I've been hoping that Henry will make the All-Weather in 41 Magnum, but I'm just gonna go ahead an order the Big Boy in 41. My favorite cartridge. All sorts of folks are telling me to buy a 357 magnum, however, I reload 41s all the time, so ammo is not an issue.
Ammo08 don’t know if you got your 41 mag. yet so if not try for the golden big boy, in brass finish, it is awesome, had mine since Dec ‘18 and I absolutely love it. Not to mention it does garner a few looks at the range especially when I let a round off, very unique report.
I have a Henry steel in 41 Mag and love it!
How about doing a video on the Henry.327 federal magnum Big boy steel
The .41 is my Favorite Pistol Caliber, and from what i've seen, it does a great job in your lever action rifle too.
We love ours. Might have to look at getting one with the side gate.
Great video!! Don't forget Skeeter Shelton he was a hard core .41 fan!!
Nice gun in my favorite caliber!
I have the Big Boy .41 magnum, very accurate with the buckhorns. I keep asking for a SS version.
Great video Plinkster, love my Henry's (.22 mag, .357 mag, and 45-70). It's great, because for each of those calibers, I have a side arm in the matching caliber. That way I only have to carry one ammo.
Hatch61 you have a 4570 pistol. I know that they make a revolver in that round. I bet that's a handful!
Love my Golden Boy in 41!
Very nice man
saw you on the Science Channel the other day
very nice piece of equipment
Thanks for checking out the video. Glad you enjoyed!
Thanks for another good video plinkster! I going to have to save up for a new henry soon.
Thanks for watching!
I remember years ago writing to Mr. Imperato after the Big Boys came out, asking if they'd make a less bulky version of it, something closer to the 1892. He told me they had no plans for that. Now not only has Henry done that, they've brought it out in my favorite caliber! I cant wait to get my hands on one. Can my dealer order one with the large loop already on it?
Glad you like what you see here! Unfortunately we wouldn't be able to do this exact rifle from the factory with the large loop lever, but it can be purchased separately from our online store. We're also doing this with a carbine length barrel, which DOES ship from the factory with the large loop already on it.
Having acquired a .41 mag revolver from my father, I do believe a Henry lever .41 is in my future...
Just took my Golden Boy in 41 m@g to the NRA Range in fairfax VA. and ran a bunch of 215 semi-wad cutters through her I loved it shot a little low but nothing the adjustable site couldn’t take care of. I’m just concerned about the action on the rifle it seems very rough and a couple of times fairly hard to close the lever all the way. Got home gave her a good scrubbing out oiled up the lever, trigger and inner workings and I’m going to give it a go again in a couple of days, hopefully it just needed some loosing up and oil.
I bought a Big Boy Steel in .44 Magnum a few months ago and took it out to the range. Very accurate rifle but kicks like a mule. This is my third Henry, my first two were the .22 LR classic and the Golden Boy. Henry Repeating Arms rifles have really surpassed Marlin and Winchester in terms of quality, reliability, and accuracy. I will be sure to take my Big Boy Steel out this fall and get a nice buck ;)
Josiah I have the .44 and just recently was able to get the .308 long ranger, the long ranger is so sweet I can't begin to tell you how enjoyable it is.
Josiah Smith i
What about doing an episode on the 327 magnum?
Plinkster, you have done an outstanding job of showing off this fine rifle and caliber. Thank you. I have one of these outstanding Henry Big Boy Steel, it is a great rifle with a great cartridge. The only down side is, the ammo manufactures have not developed many different bullet weights. My little rifle loves the old Speer 200 gr. short jacket semi wadcutter and the 220 short jacket semi wadcutter. Would love to see these two bullets back in production. Henry Repeating Arms, keep it in America. Words cannot define my appreciation for the fine workmanship that Henry Repeating Arms has put into it's products. Thank you.
Like that 41, but I'm pretty excited to get the .327 Fed in my hands! Hope you guys aren't having too many issues getting them tuned for .32 Long, etc. It'll be a complement to my SP kit gun i take camping and fishing! Love my Henrys!
Shouldn't be waiting too much longer now for those! They're slated to start shipping to distributors this week.
I have a Big Boy Classic on order. .41 Mag will match my Ruger and my Smith handguns! Thanks Henry!!
Would love a 41 carbine. It would be great with my 657 and 41 bh.
the pertect pair
Looking forward to buying one!👍👍👍
Good job
Police carried .38 Specials and .357 Magnums, both of which are deficient, and many police had complained about this. That's why the .41 Magnum was invented. Then, after the 1986 FBI shootout in Miami, Jeff Cooper invented the 10mm, something sort of close to the .41 Magnum, but for a semi-auto. Most cops never carried .44 Magnums.
@Henry Repeating Arms , any chance of adding more big calibers to the Big Boy line of rifles? Maybe 454 Casull or 50AE or possibly even 480 Ruger. People love the big diameters!
I love a henry in 500 smith
You guys are too much. Go for broke, .50 BMG 😇.
Is the 41 magnum gonna make a come back
Do you know if Henry has any plans to expand there cartridge lineup? I was thinking along the lines of, 450 Marlin, 38-55, 348 Winchester, 375 win, 307 win, 308 Marlin express, etc etc
Lots of cool cartridges out there that I think would be at home with Henry. 41 magnum is pretty sweet though
Absolutely! I can't say specifics, but we definitely have some more calibers up our sleeves. Stay tuned!
Great Video! Thanks
What about the 500 Smith & Wesson
i would buy the hell out of that! lol
I would definitely buy that to match my smith. Already did that for the 44 haha I have the golden boy 22, big boy 44, and would definitely buy the 500.
Doooooooo it Henry please!
Look like great rifles. Also looks a lot like marlins only with a mag tube loading. Am I correct?
WHEN can I get one???
great video!
do you think we will ever see a 9mm henry? it would be so much fun!!
I've been wishing for the same.It would be cheaper to shoot & hold lots of rounds , but I don't think we will ever see one.The main reason is all of the very pointy fmj bullets available in 9mm. This could potentially set off a cartridge in a tubular magazine under recoil. It probably wouldn't happen , but the liability is there.Maybe they can come up with a magazine that sort of tilts the rounds up or down so the bullet don't touch the primer of next round.
Sounds pretty good. A 16 in barrel would probably hold at least 12 9mm.
If Henry builds this .41 Magnum in a case hardened 20" octagon barrel I'd be on it like a bum on a ham sandwich. The .41 is a great cartridge, more so when you're a reloader. They say the .41 Magnum didn't gain popularity because it had no "sister" round like .357-.38Special and .44mag-.44special but, if you reload you can load the .41 with Hodgdon Trail Boss powder and create lighter loads for plinking or recoil sensitive folks, this is mostly for pistols shooters, for rifles the recoil isn't that big a deal.
No 41 magnums at Henry's web site.
Holding out until Henry releases this with a side loading gate model like they did with the 357 and 44 mag.
Aaaaand we are still waiting. What's the deal Henry?
Great video & great gun. I'm wondering about the velocity out of the rifle with .41 mag. I have the .357 version of this rifle & it shoots a lot faster than a handgun.Using Buffalo Bore 158 grain ammo ( listed as 1475 fps ) , I'm getting 1925 fps. Recoil is negligible & gives me 1300 ft/lbs of energy.
Great looking rifle, is 41 mag Ammon ready available, not sure I've seen it.....
It will be great if you made one in the X model please!!!
Well Looking for a 41 Mag. I think I found it! My only question is, is the Big Boy model the longest mag you carry?
My question is why doesn’t Henry include the.41 mag chamber on their side loading Big Boy Steal models??
How is the recoil on the .41mag? I have the Big Boy in .357 mag and recoil isn't bad.
its a heavier bullet with that much more recoil . still not too bad
What kind of scope are you using?
Dayum you leave your shooting bench outside! It’s rusting up son! 🤣
Looking high and low for one of these in 41 Magnum. Henry, for some reason has stopped making them in this caliber. This has happened since the introduction of the side gate rifles.
I hear the new Henry company makes great quality firearms, and I like this caliber option, BUT....when will Henry advance into the 1860;s and utilize the King loading gate of the 1866 Winchester and newer models? THAT is what has kept me from buying a new Henry firearm.
Impressive accuracy, by the way. I really would like one of these, but dang that loading system.....
plowboysghost you got your wish. Henry makes a side gate now
I believe that the 1240 fps velocity was for handguns. The rifle should be around 1600 fps +-.
Was hickock 45 your mothers milk man 😂
S&W and Ruger make 41 Mag revolvers to compliment this rifle.
This is a cheap rifle but you’ve made it look worth it
That federal is a nice police load and it gets that 1100-1200 fps from a revolver. From your Henry you should be getting 1500-1600. Hunting loads will go a few hundred fps faster.
Definitely need to get one of these to go with ny 6.5" Ruger. I was very pleased when i first heard about them some months ago. As far as other chamberings mentioned by some of the posters, i'm down for a 38-55 and a 444 Marlin. A 348 Win would be very interesting, but it will never happen. Wouldn't mind seeing a 35 Remington as well
GOOD to see thank you for the video since Marlin stopped there .41 rifle I am going to look at buying one of these fine rifles. :)
i have a .41 mag pistol
Waiting for the loading gate
First shot. Bullseye. "That looks pretty good..." Sigh.
1230 fps from the carbine? That's slow. I wonder if the box says 1230 and it is from a revolver.
The velocities printed on boxes of handgun ammo are the velocities achieved out of a handgun length barrel, not a rifle. Would have been nice if he could have chrono'd a couple shots for us viewers. At 1:52 he says the velocity of a 210 grain projectile is close 1600 fps.
yes
Never heard of the 41
It's a bit of a niche caliber, but it has a very strong following for good reason!
2 dollars a bullet ?😮
Now Chad, you know that the 45 Colt loaded up to 32000 psi for Ruger Blackhawks and these lever action carbines has more foot pounds of energy with a 255 grain bullet then a 44 does with a 240 grain bullet. You're just pulling my leg!
Wow talking about playing connect the dots lol
Why get a 41 when I can get a 44? 41 mag ammo is harder to find and will cost you just as much.
Like he said the 41 has less kick, flatter trajectory and can take down anything on the N. American continent. Also almost every time I go to the range with one of my 41 someone will ask me what I’m shooting and when I say 41 magnum most of the time they’re either dumbfounded to never having heard of it or they too are in that exclusive 41 magnum club.
because you will love shooting it great caliber
Where’s the crack, the echo, the reverb........this is the weirdest sounding rifle I’ve ever heard!!!
jeff king I mean it's a rifle report recorded on a camera so not sure what you're expecting
Side loader please!
41 magnum was a stupid idea back then and stupid idea today....the 44 mag (actually 429) makes it pointless...
chad haire I beg to differ sir, the 41 magnum shoots flatter than a 44 if you'll check the ballistic charts. Also from what I read will penetrate a little deeper probably because of less frontal area. Although I would describe the Recoil of the 41 to be closer to that of a 44 in a handgun than that of a 357 it is still noticeably less. But to each his own but I like my 41 magnums.
PAUL: Seriously?
A. "flat shooting" only applies to rifles calibers....in pistol calibers it doesn't mean crap. Even in a rifle in the 41 & 44 , you are talking about sighting in at 100 yards, and max impact at 125/150. The few inches of difference in impact at these ranges are too small to be mentioned........ unless you are planning to beer cans or rabbits at 100 yards....??
B. "Recoil"? The 44 can be downloaded to 41 power, but the 41 cannot be loaded up to 44 power. When fired out of a hefty 7 pound Henry lever action the 44 doesn't recoil enough to worry about anyway.
C. The 41 is really a 41 but the 44 is really a 429....so in terms of shooting flatter, recoil, penetrate.....and other debates..... there was no real need for a 41......it was and still is too close the a 44..oops....429.
D. Like the 10mm, 45GAP, the 41 is an oddball round..expensive...certainly no cheaper than the 44, and not easy to find at the local store.
E. I am amazed that Henry would make a rifle in the oddball 41 mag, yet will not offer one in 7.62x39 which duplicates the 30/30 at half the cost.....which would sell 20 times as much... it will be interesting to see if these 41's sell...I doubt it.
A. If I couldn't hit a rabbit at a 100 yards I wouldn't go in the woods.
B. Yes You can down load a 44 but then the trajectory would be even worse.
C. Elmer Keith ( inventor of the 44 mag,) thought it was a good idea, and so do I.
D. You got me there, bullets are harder to find. I reload so it doesn't matter much.
E. They are selling quite well as best as I know. I have the standard Big Boy Steel model and I like it so well that I may buy one of the carbine models as well. I can see the merit in a 7.62x39 on cost of ammo. But I have a 30-30 Marlin and as I said I reload so that doesn't matter a whole lot.
Shoot your 44 and be happy.
44. 357, & 22 actually
chad haire you definitely need a 41 and a 45 Colt to have a complete set
