    It is a real treat to see Itzhak Perlman as a conductor, and his daughter at the piano. Shame on those people of Beethoven's time for not recognizing this concerto as the masterpiece it is. I fell in love with it the first time I heard it.

      It's hard to understand how was not recognised.

    • @yorha2b278

      Beethoven was considered way beyond his time. Perhaps that's the reason.

    • @ShaunakDesaiPiano
      @ShaunakDesaiPiano 2 года назад +1

      @@gibbogle partly it was the fact that the piano part wasn’t as interesting and fun to play as is usual for Beethoven, be it in his chamber works or his solo piano works. Also, unlike the vast majority of concertos at the time, there are no cadenzas in this one, for any of the instruments.

    Absolutely gorgeous performance. Loved the version of a younger Yitzhak on the violin with Yo Yo Ma at the cello and Daniel Barenboim at the piano and conducting, but this one is just as sweet and sublime.
    Great to see young blood at the three "solo" instruments.
    Just beautiful music, totally worthy of the greatest of all, Ludwig van B. ❣️

      Manifestement le talent est congénital.
      La musique classique s’accommode peu de la génération spontanée. Car bien souvent c'est le manque de culture de la musique qui empêche l’éventuelle révélation de talents ne sortant pas du sérail.
      Bravi à tous les trois conduits par la baguette bienveillante du maestro.

    LvB Concerto for Violin, Cello & Piano is 'basque in the heavenly glory.' The trilogy instruments give the melody such enrichment of resonance, phrasing, and lyrical with vibrant rhythm, intensity and gracefulness.
    The Orchestra gives background support of paragon delight to the soloists in the melody.
    Itzhak Perlman expresses body language with his hands.
    I have enjoyed the cellist Zuill Bailey the most because he vibrates those strings into melancholic resonance as this particular Beethoven Trio Concerto melody is about, the theme throughout concluding with a bravado of triumph. Delightful and absolute mastery!

    Entiendo el porqué Beethoven compuso un concierto para cello&Co. y no uno para cello sólo. En primer lugar, los temas son tan ricos sinfónicamente que dejarlos a un sólo instrumento hubiera sido pérdida de todas sus riquezas. No pueden ser interpretados por un sólo instrumento. Decía entonces innovar con una sinfonía triple concertante. En segundo lugar, Beethoven no escribía platos de segunda mesa. Él sabia que con los dos conciertos para cello de Haydn ya todo estaba dicho. Por esa razón es que su concierto para violín debía ser la piedra angular que opacara toda composición posterior para el rey de las cuerdas; así como los conciertos para cello de Haydn son la nuestra más inefable de qué se debe hacer con el "violinzote ese todo grandote que se ponen entre las piernas" (palabras de mi sobrinita a sus tres años cuando presenció un cello sonar por primera vez).

      PureTalent good rap has its place in the performing arts, just like any other form. It’s not intended to be compared with classical music. More with the protest music of the 60s or with spoken verse.
