First impressions after my first battle: A very nice, new feeling with less stress, slower & more strategic game play and and interesting mix of maps i otherwise would have avoided. The best thing is, that low BR seems to only get the autumn Stalingrad maps (inner city) and avoids the boring tractor factory (during winter). I'll post army guides and my recommendations whats worth buying atm during the next days (spoiler alert: many items are too risky to buy atm, since many things will change/be updated).

I had fun playing last night too. I like the tech tree, though it is confusing I don’t nearly have what I want. I feel like they could do a simple update to bring back campaigns and add the English and Italian factions. They can just have the boxes to select and you will only get those maps (so in a way you choose your map) and go off tier of your units you want to play with. I think that would make the game perfect.
When I played the Merge and it has all change I was like: OMG what have they done. This is not a normal history game this is a stupid history game. Damn you Gaijim put it back right now.
I tried that thinking I would enjoy some bolt action tier 2 japan and got run over by americans with nothing but full autos and 75MM HE spamming tanks.
@@maineiacmanyep it’s definitely 50/50 now. You either get a fair and fun match where both sides are the same BR and where actual skill is needed to win, or one completely curb stomps the other just by being a higher BR
They should add a "timeline preference" button. Tick whether you prefer early war, mid war, or late war and it tries to put you in the corresponding maps

I had fun playing tier 2 and tier 5! My problem with playing Germany tier 2 is I’d get all Stalingrad and Tunisia. Only 1 moscow game and that was with tier one. I think they need to make Moscow up to tier 3, or add a tier 6. Not sure how that would work for a faction like Japan though :/
i will say there is a difference in the pace of the games now but i think time will tell... i think there is an issue with organiztion of the squad and the actual battle, i think a map preview then squad select in 90 seconds would be an interest mechanic added to the game. also i noticed when buying soldeiers now there is no total to show your balnace so i had to go back 3 steps to see it again.
Overall I quite enjoyed the update. It reminds me of open beta Moscow, when lobbies were full and the most op weapon was gewehr 41. I didn’t see any out of place shit, like tigers in Stalingrad, but customization is a mess. Give them a month for bug fixes and we’ll be set.

This merge is garbage, even the Perk system sucks thanks to being forced to waste 6 perk points before having access to others. 99% of comments from people I play with is negative, along with many just giving up or thinking about giving up.
for the people going germany BR 1-2 if you have the Moscow Axis Wz.35 AT squad, i recommend using that squad, the engineer can build everything and the AT rifles can kill any soviet/american BR 1 and 2 tanks
Its people with tier 4 and 5 gear but they have lower tier tanks, idk how theyre gonna fix it, i saw a pz2 in berlin next to a king tiger and started dying laughing
@pullified81 Yeah that'll still happen regardless lol. But the community managers have already confirmed actual issues with the matchmaker since the update dropped. They said fixes should arrive over the coming days and weeks. I myself was able to get a pure tier 1 Russian lineup into tier 5 Berlin of all places lol. Pretty much just placed rallies and zoomed around in my lil tanks.
BR 3 seems out of place in the new system. You either play weaker opponents or stronger opponents without much incentive to do so. There are strange placements of weapons in BR 3 such as the SMLE and Lee Enfield, and seeing as they are bolt actions you would think they would be in lower tiers. Also, while the "scaling" matchmaking is basically what was present before, it kind of defeats the purpose of choosing a specific tier. If flamethrowers can show up in BR 1/2 you may as well just play them to so you can be on an equal playing field. Not to mention that tier 3 tanks will decimate BR 1/2 tanks.
I don’t like the research mechanics much. Maybe I don’t fully get it still. I don’t like that I’m unlocking individual items at a time. I don’t even think it is tracking my progress correctly. I’m still very new, but I am actually decent and there’s no way it is taking that long to complete it.
Hey I don’t know where to report this to the devs but every time I unlock a thing in the tech tree I have to reload the game to claim it is annyone else having this problem and if you could would you pass that on to the devs para devision
Moscow seems to be hard to get, i've been quitting matches for an hour yestrday and only got manor map, which i obviosly quit. US seems to be better RN, i got all 3 campaigns with standard normandy equipment (M1A1 and garands)
I got italian tanks and soldiers on the train map in Berlin fighting against KV-1s and soviets in Moscow type of uniforms and equipment, lol. This update is absolutely disgusting and it needs to be reverted asap!

I’ve been playing BR 2 Japan, and have been having more fun than I have in a long time. The game feels new and fresh!

5 matches in Stalingrad with the KT this is just bullshit even one BR2 match in Stalingrad against Tiger E.
Personally I would like to see half-tracks at some point for lower BR mechanized infantry.

You should use impact grenades on low br. I have 2-3 on every soldier. They are not bugged like rifle grenades
