Well if the father, who is the elder, asks to bring something, we do not say that go get it yourself. He is the father so he can say that to his child. He is not being rude, he is just being a father, and a very sweet one. And his father had come all the way to this city to meet his son. So he would not ask him to leave even if it is his date anniversary. The father does not even know it is their anniversary initially. That is not how it works in India. It would be really disrespectful. Hope needs to know people from India to understand that. And the father is pretty understanding and fun guy.
Hope is right in her own way. Indians usually force their beliefs, customs traditions on their children no matter how stupid which creates an emotional distance between them and that's why no one wants to share their personal life with their parents or anyone in the family. It's very common to see in Indian families that as the child grows older the relationship with the family becomes more of a formality as the elders in the family are not open to new ideas and value their traditions more and super judgmental of their child actions. Moreover, they are more worried about their family's image in society and would do anything for that which includes marrying their daughter against her will, deciding a career for their son, etc. This video clearly shows that the guy does not trust his father will approve of his relationship and he has no other option other than telling a lie which is the story of many dudes in India. Don't get me wrong, I am proud of Indian culture and there are many good things it has to offer to the world. The essence of Indian culture is in seeking and liberation and it has given various tools to live a successful life. But I doubt if even Indians understand their own culture. One half of the population desperately wants to be westernized and the other half is too proud to open their minds.
Achara - Understands all Indian things, Jaby - tries to understand, very neutral, Hope - Get your own damn Samosa. SPARTAAA! Lol, this is Permanent Roommates all over again!
ThingsILove Your Dad visits you in months, is tired and hungry and asks for samosa. You would tell him to get his own samosa because it's your anniversary? Lol I don't know what place you're from, but no Indian would do that. It's a cultural thing, forget parents, we won't even let our closest friends make any effort when they visit us.
Chitresh Bhatt ohh I am from rural India , And I love my parents . So you don't teach me in that matter ... also He should atleast ask him if he can go right at this instant ... Atleast sort the work he is doing then he can get samosa ... He was ordering him like a bosd and literally pushed him out of the house ... thats not right ... my parents won't do that ... And there shouldn't have been a situation like this that you have to hide your gf in the bathroom ... thats so wrong ... Lack of conversation and understanding leads to cracks in the relationship ... Then they blame there child or their partner ...
bc just see the comments from original video.. there are comments like "aisa baap sabko mile" and this hope is saying " murder them" a surprise from your gf was adorable and from the father is awkward??
ThingsILove Chill, don't go all ballistic on me. The Dad knew right from the beginning it was Riya, so was enjoying trolling them a bit. He was not ordering him around, he was just being over enthusiastic about the whole situation to troll them. Even if he were not trolling, there would not be a chance where a son would decline samosa to his father.
ThingsILove Also, what makes you think that a situation can't arise when you might need to hide your gf? Imagine yourself in Naveen's place, your gf surprises you and your Dad does too! Most Indian men would be too shy to admit they have a girl in their house if their parents show up suddenly. I am open about my relationship with my parents but would definitely be embarrassed about a situation where my Dad shows up when my gf is visiting. Naveen did the right thing, though a little foolishly. It could've been managed better, I agree.
7 minutes into the video and I’m thinking why are all of Naveen’s girlfriend always leaving him behind and going abroad 😂 Happened in Pitchers, the cafe short movie and now here lol

The girls keep saying "go dad, leave... He should tell his father to go..." In India we don't do like this, it will be a huge disrespect!! None of them would do or even think of doing that, no matter how uncomfortable they felt!!
Thats the point , Parents should consider the thing that their child isn't kid anymore they have their own lives , just like you had ... They should also think if their child is comfortable or not instead of forcing things down their throat ... Atleast ask if he has something on his mind ... It should not be disrespectful to be able to stand up for yourself ... And you act like Indian people doesn't disrespect their parentsc... there are countless arguements every day about anything .... So stop playing the " respect parents card" every time ... Think from the other prospective also...
Abner John I have a better life than you dude because I can keep my parents with me and support them financially in their old age. May be you are saying all this because you can't do this. So it's not your fault kid.
Abner John In India kids stay with their parents bcoz they love them ... They want to live with their loved ones ... Its not about money ... Its about supporting your parents in their old age ... Thats a myth in Us that Indian kids live with their parents bcoz they are financially independant .... its the complete opposite .... And living with them is much better than living alone and depressed ... We share that kind of a bond ... we are extremely close and we want to keep them to ourselves bcoz they are the only ones who love us unconditionally ... so get your facts right ... Instead of blabbering some nonsense ...
ThingsILove Itz ok 👌 man I guess .. west is completely different from east .. but da thing is u guy also should not criticise our culture, we love our parents to .. dey send us away frm them so that we can learn to live on our know and learn from our mistakes. A kid from a rich family also gets out frm their parents house as soon as he turn 18 and live in a condo .. We never bost on our parents wealth rather we work hard for our own . So U guyz also keep calm and respect our culture!! And for just fun fact I wanted to ask how u guyz have sex when u know your parents are there in other room ?? Just random thought 💭
Difference in culture can be seen here. In America GF giving surprise visit is cool but in case of parents it is not. To meet parents one should take appointment in US
True.... but what I like about American culture is that they are way more acceptable than Ind parents.... In Ind culture, no matter how independent or older you get, parents think their kids know nothing and need help....
in an interview, aishwarya rai replied to a comment on india that atleast in india we don't have to take appointments or court orders to meet our parents.. she summed it up totally
Rizul Kumar thats not true that you have to take appointments ... thats an exaggeration from outsiders to defend themselves. Don't take things literally all the time ... Atleasr in USA you don't have to marry the girl/boy your parents chose for you ...

@shubham chauhan Asian people understands respect 💯 for parents. In Western cultures they put their child in another room in the baby stages .
