I am concerned about the impact of rising prices on my plans to retire at 62 and build savings. I wonder if individuals who experienced the 2008 financial crisis found it less challenging than my current situation. The stock market's volatility, combined with a reduced income is causing anxiety about having enough for retirement.
Consider investing in stocks especially during a recession. While recessions can be tough, they can also offer good chances to buy low and sell high in the markets if you're cautious. Just remember, this is not financial advice, but it's a good time to think about buying stocks since having cash on hand isn't always the best option.
I use both scalable capital and trade republic: - Scalable capital for long term holdings and casually trading (paying prime for unlimited trades). - Trade republic for recurring monthly savings only - no fee and earning 2% for uninvested cash. I could also do it in scalable capital but I don't want to put everything in that broker alone. Then: Interactive Broker for selling puts and covered calls for US stocks.
If I don´t have the money for focusing on the big things, then I must focus on the small ones first. Apparently there are no brokers in Germany that allow me to make trades under 250€ for free and that way, learning how the system works, right?

Can you explain why you use Fidelity.
Scalable allows investment by non EU citizens living in Germany. TR simply doesn't allow this. So clear choice of ppl in that category.
I am non EU person and i have it with TR since last year,Maybe someone else went wrong in your case.
Good Gobs😊
