Gorgeous! I’ve been collecting ornaments for over 40 yrs. Like you, I love a tree loaded with beautiful memories. I love that you put your Village under the tree. I will consider that next year.
If you build your Christmas tree for others you will never get it right. Most everyone has an artistic opinion. You are the one who has to look at it every day of the season, build what makes you happy. I love the time lapse and the final product is impressive. Very nice.
A couple yrs ago my daughter told me "MOM our tree looks like santa threw up on it!" So I changed it to all gold ornaments and gold lights. Everyone loved it, but I missed my colorful tree! THIS YR IM NOT LISTENING TO ANYONE!!! I want my colorful Christmas tree back! I don't care if it looks like santa threw up on it. That's how they're suppose to look imo! Lol. I loooooove the lights on your tree by the way. Your tree is gorgeous!!
Btw, I LOVE COLOURFUL CHRISTMAS TREES!!!! Once my dad tolled me, "I don't like all the colour, this time we are having a all white Christmas tree" I hated it, I missed the colour :(
Lol that's funny. I'm not crazy about gold lights, which is pre-lit in our new tree (the tree itself is awesome tho), and tend to gravitate towards funky, non-traditional, while others like very traditional. So this year, I mixed multi-color lights (my fave) with the clear lights and dimmed the clear lights down with a dimmer switch to make them golden and less in-your-face. Turned out gorgeous and everyone's happy lol. It also makes the tree feel less dim at night, which sometimes happens with just multi-color. I also added a few layers of those clear, beaded crystal garland pieces (Kurt Adler?) to give a snow/ice effect in lieu of tinsel garland or the like, and it's so, so pretty. Love how it looks in the daytime and more so at night, making the tree look all fancy yet still whimsical. Woot! Best one yet. I agree! Do what makes you happy, or do both-- it might just work out.
Same. I hate this all gold light/ornament fashion nowadays. It's so boring! When I grew up, Christmas lights and Christmas trees couldn't be colorful enough, and it was so beautiful and cheerful. What's the point in going to look at Christmas lights when house after house and tree after tree are all the same color?
I heard that it's only Haram if you put up a tree to celebrate Jesus but if you put one up and call it something else for example a "winter seasons tree" just because you like it as decor you're ok. I am an atheist and I put up a Christmas tree and decorations plus I do a "Winter Tree". My winter tree stays up until March because that's when winter ends. My Winter tree is usually decorated with anything that has to do with snow; White, a little icy light blue, silver and/or gold ornaments. I also include white animals like polar bears, snow owls and icicles. I love holiday decorations so I will use any excuse to put one up including a Spring & Autumn Tree (look it up people do that). This year I changed it up and made my winter tree a woodland/forest theme. It had animals, handmade and purchased wood ornaments, berries, pinecones, snowman's, cabins, mushrooms, Etc. The artificial trees come in a variety of shapes they also have some that are shaped like a cactus and palm trees, they also make swirl trees that are very decorative.

I have ornaments that are 27 years old, and every year I put them on my tree, and every year I buy a new piece. I just love my tree. I've spent a lot of money on it but to me, it's a masterpiece, like yours! In my family, I'm known to have the most beautiful tree and I'm proud of that! I used to put 2500 - 3500 miniature lights on an eight-foot "live" tree, and it took about one entire week of evenings and weekend(s); each light was individually attached to a branch, and each was mounted vertically with the tip of the lamp upward. After that ordeal, the ornaments, tinsel, and so on practically fell into place! Lots of work, but, oh, what a beautiful tree!

Beautiful but time consuming. I know first hand. I've spent a few thousand dollars on Radko, Polonaise, etc. ornaments (looked for bargains on ebay). I didn't plan on it taking so much time to put up over 400 ornaments. I haven't done it for years. Takes up lots of storage space too. You must have great friends who are willing to spend so much time to help.

That tree is beautiful! Mine normally takes a couple days and after all that work, mine stays up from 3rd week of November to mid-February.

EdWatts we normally get an 11 ft tree but we have the big white light strands and put around 5-6 strands on and a ton of ornaments
