mrspidey80 He can't really because he is mostly well known for being a big part of it so even when the show finishes and he is promoting a movie, they are still going to ask him since he was a main character and so many things happened to him. I wouldn't be surprised if it's an excuse, but it's just that the question of his character is in people's head.

I think this is actually kind of a giveaway here.
If you think about the questioning, he is asked:
"Is there any nudity in the next season?" His response is "I can't answer that."
This would be indicative of the cast being specifically told to give absolutely nothing away about the upcoming season.
So then when you go back to the question:
"Are you dead?" and his response is "Yes"
The appropriate response for someone told to give nothing away, even the answer to a very simple question would be "I can't answer that." but instead his answer is "Yes." which would indicate he has specifically been told to tell everyone he is dead, rather than that he cannot answer.
Now to think about the reality of this. If he were ACTUALLY dead or staying dead, then him saying "I can't answer that" would result in a few people thinking he's lying, and eventually realizing that he stays dead. Oh well they were wrong. There is no reason to specifically say Yes. If he comes back or stays alive some how, then him saying "I can't answer that" would spoil the surprise in the season for the few people that believe he lives, and ruin the general idea of great storytelling.
It looks to me like he would have been instructed to say YES I AM DEAD and be as convincing as possible, as to make the next season as much of an enjoyable experience for everyone, including the people who think he's alive but really cannot confirm it. Dead or alive, he does a damn good job of making it unknown and questionable for everyone so we all get to love every bit of every episode.

+Tamer Bahnan In a very strict sense, technically. It was always inferred that asking "are you dead?" is another way of asking "are you going to be resurrected?". Its probably the case that kit harrington inferred the question in his mind in the same way, and we can conclude that if that is the case, he was lying based on how he was thinking about it.
I remember watching this when it was released. Check out 1:16, you see his face change from amused to "WTF that actually shocked me" so quickly, I love it xD
He already said when he was finished with the show he was cutting his hair. Looks pretty long to me ;)

Why this is such a big deal is that people have been speculating and theorizing Jon's resurrection for half a decade now (since the last book came out).

Daryl Dixon He was not leader of the White walkers, he was the self labelled king of the nights watch. Also it happens babies were new born and alive both of which Jon Snow is not. Besides he is on the Seven kingdoms side of the wall so white walkers can't get to his corpse anyway without bringing down the wall and there is no possibility of the nights watch putting Jon's body beyond the wall as even if the they are sceptical they are not stupid.

Or, when Daenerys stood amidst dragon fire from her 3 dragons in the sorcerors tower? In the show it seems atleast Daenerys is immune to fire, maybe not in the books but in the show she is.

The amount of times that Kit had to tell everyone he is ‘dead’ and doing things like this to make people believe that Jon Snow is dead. I am glad that he should not have to do that anymore now that the show is over. So freaking sad that the show will officially be over on May 19th. All I know is that Jon Snow better outlive everyone. That’s all I ask, nothing more.

Jon Snow (Jon Targaryen) is Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark's son. He'll be resurrected by Lady Melisandre with the same power than Thoros of Myr, because Jon is the real heir of the throne, not Stannis. Melisandre admitted her mistake in the new trailer of the show. According to the religion of the Lord of Light, Jon is the reincarnation of Azor Ahai (legendary hero who wielded a burning sword called 'Lightbringer') who will "be born again amidst smoke and salt".
