  • Welcome folks to another motorcycle video, this time I'm fitting an Evotech tail tidy to my 2023 BMW R1250R. These are superb quality parts as one would expect of Evotech.
I mostly produce hi-fi equipment and repair-related content here. Still, I sneak the odd 4WD and motorcycle video in there, my apologies if everything is not exactly what you are looking for.
My apologies also for the lack of uploads, running my full-time specialist repair business and website takes all my time and energy.
As always, please excuse the minimal editing, dodgy sound etc, it's the only way I can get videos out these days and even then, I struggle!

Glad I found your video, I have just fitted the Tail tidy and radiator guard to my recently purchased RS, and I had the exact same concern about the gap at the back. I initially thought it was because I also changed the Top box mount for just the grab handles, and maybe there was a difference in the fitting, but I couldn't see how because the gaps for the grab handles and top box mount are the same. I have also been pondering if I did something wrong, scratching my head and trying to figure out what it may be. So, I looked over the internet and found your video. Well, it's a relief knowing I didn't do anything wrong, and it confirms that I will just have to live with it. The other thing I had to lose was the number plate border/frame, or else the plate would only fit if I was going to drill more holes in the plate, but then it would start to look ugly. Looks like you may have done the same. Thanks for the Video

Looks great, one thing I would be looking at is putting a reflector under your plate. I put a tail tidy on my Hayabusa and didn’t, until I started seeing the videos about the fines and demerit points for not having one.

      Hadn't considered that!

I would have to agree with you there harleyglide, I believe the rear reflector is mandatory under the Australian Design Rules as are the side reflectors on the front forks.

Looks shmick mate! Strange about that gap, though, but you couldn't tell unless it was pointed out

    Hi !
    Thank for the review.
One question : can you still put the paniers ? Indicators will fits ?

Yes, the kit comes with two options and I believe one is for bikes with panniers. Check with Evotech to confirm though!

Hey man! Lovely bike I have the same motorcycle and really looking forward to some inspirations. Could you kindly comment on the exhaust? What made you go for aero? I am in decision making process myself. Thanks in advance.

Thank you, my friend, I chose the Arrow because I've had Arrow exhausts before and the quality is excellent, made in Italy. This one had a removable baffle which I wanted and I prefer the look of this one to most of the others, etc.

Evotech charge a fortune for this and I'm going to have to disagree. I have used quite a bit of their stuff over the years . . . nicely made but rarely fits properly. Let's face it, it wouldn't cost any more to manufacture parts which fit as opposed to parts that dont and leave a gap between the seat and the light unit and then . . . there's the screws that are too long. I mean jeez . . they are charging a bomb and they just can't get it right. Very irritating if you've parted with the dosh. The last two accessories I had, I sent back for a refund - at least they got that right. I ordered their rad guard which only fits if you have the stainless radiator guards as on your bike . . if the bike has the black plastic radiator cowls, the guard doesn't fit. They have been told countless times and yet they still sell the radiator guard as suitable for all versions of the R1250r . . . . It isn't!!!

Appreciate your perspective and thanks for commenting. I experienced first-hand the rad guard not fitting the 'standard' black plastic trim R1250R and yes, they need to correct this. Also agreed regarding incorrect screws like I experienced here. That said, on balance, I find their products well-made and well-priced. Not perfect in some cases though, I agree with you there.
