As much as I’ve been waiting on a Jay album since 09’, I’m fine with him dropping songs here and there. The masses don’t deserve what he wants to give them. Record execs don’t understand brilliance anymore. He will go wood in the hood and be called a failure. I’m fine with the elusive genius. Huge Jay Electronica fan.. around the 2006-2011 era, I was in Philly and discovered this MC rhyming on MySpace. His story and rhymes about the Philly streets I literally found myself on at that time was amazing. I wonder if I ran into him accidently at any point in time. Needless to say 2006 was magical, same year I started digging into Dilla after his death and Jay E mixtapes also rhymed on Dilla instrumentals. Met Jay E briefly in Phila at Trocadero (?) around 2011 at the Mos Def show, humble dude all his energy inside the crowd. God bless this channel.
