hitting OPO is not about throwing your hands out further to the ball. You always keep your hands in, and hit the ball deeper in the zone. You should never change the hand path of the bat, but adjust in timing. Sooner for inside, later for outside, and square up for middle.
You are right and so his he. He is over compensating for people that pull off and hit off the tip. You need a balance with keeping your hands inside and then slightly pushing your hands unless you be using a fungo 😂
