Exceedengly useful teachings. Seemingly simple, but actually very deep and transforming. We lost a great teacher when Sogyal Rinpoche passed away.

He was an abusive and dangerous person... didn't practice what he preached

can I really discover the nature of the mind alone? or do I really need a master's supervision for that?

stanley landrin check out big sky/big mind guided meditation by Joseph Goldstein, it helped me to experience true nature of mind, but I still need to build stability.

Someone who has discovered it could guide you. A good teacher would guide you while letting you do the job by yourself. So, the victory would be your own.

A mentor that you trust and who has walked the path is extremely beneficial.
