I was just up in northern Wisconsin a few days ago top water fishing in pretty similar conditions; overcast, mid-60s, and light rain. I had a really nice one follow me up to the boat but it wouldn’t hit. My question is how do you go about a figure-eight with a topwater. Do you keep it on the surface, run it underwater like any other lure, or just try to cast back and get a strike. I was keeping mine on the surface and it was pretty awkward doing an 8 with my rod (8’6”). Just wondering
Great video Robbie, you made a musky fisherman for life. Enjoyed seeing the smiles on the young boys face.
Great post once again! Love seeing the kids loving fishing. Reminds me of when i used to take my boys out 25 years ago. Thank you.
With over cast skies...top waters are all black. No matter what color they are painted.
Perfect conditions.., Robbie still with the slippers in the rain. LOL
Had a backlash 1st cast of the year, on top of having to tune in the drag on a new reel, had a mid 40's swing and miss at the boat.
I’ve been dealing with the same thing this year, lots and lots of short strikes.

Topwater colour does not matter whatsoever. Get black or black, those are your 2 best options!
For flap sakes no dang it!!!!
