I used to work at Home Depot as the only lumber and construction employee and I would make a point to address the women I saw there first. Most of the time they were just tagging along with their husbands, but I like to throw people for a loop sometimes. One time I had a man literally refuse to listen to the answer to a question he had. He went to find an male employee and they just directed him right back to me lol 💅🏿
I literally asked my dad for a laser level for Christmas and have a drill, tool set, etc. My boyfriend only owns a screwdriver. It's such an unnecessary comment. Everyone has a different background and experiences, regardless of gender. My dad is super handy and made sure my sister and I knew how to get things done in our home and cars.
But isn't what he said partially true tho? But ya I get it , when I go to buy some hardware or tools I haven't really had very good experiences. They think just because you are a woman you wouldn't know about all that stuff.
The She Shed estate sale was for my bonus grandma. I agree that she was the coolest woman ever! So creative, kind, and loving 😍 I loved seeing you appreciate her too!
You make me want to go to estate sales/auctions/antique/thrift stores. Haven’t been in years!!!
Funny story since you are as annoyed as I am at male comments when tool shopping. I used to work at a hardware/gardening store 16 years ago when I was 18/19 and in school for advanced woodworking and furniture design. People would call and ask for a woodworking expert and calls were directed to me, and a lot of men wouldn’t outright say they didn’t want to get advice from me, but would ask multiple times/comment they wanted to speak to a woodworking expert. So I started putting them on hold, saying I’d get someone, go hep some customers, grab a drink, take a breath, and go back to the phone after making them wait a long time on hold, lower my voice and say it was Andrew… boy Andrew got a lot of calls to management complementing their help/expertise, which confused management since no Andrew worked there.
In store, when the old men that worked there were asked about woodworking stuff and they directed customers to me instead, it was better-ish, though annoying that a man had to vouch for my skills. - though the men I worked with were phenomenal and supportive.
omg ANDREW!!! it aggravates me soooooo much when men make comments like that ... like just mind your business and let me shop hahahah
@@xomacennavlogs I have soooo many stories like that. It’s annoying, and I don’t understand some people’s needs to make comments. And in one of your videos you talked about some supply stores that had comments or would only talk to your dad. 🤬🤬🤬 sooooo annoying. I find that happens with my SO if we go someplace for reno supplies or have contractors/trades in for work I can’t do myself, and he just directs them to me, and says he has no clue what’s going on. Sigh. Hope things continue to change in the long runs for the better.
Keep up being awesome and learning new skills!! I have enjoyed watching your videos for a couple years, and seeing you strip the home down, try new things and repurpose things… 💕💕 keep being your amazing, awesome self.

The trench coat looks fantastic on you! I don’t think it’s too big at all; I actually love the shape! But if you wanted to cinch it, you could get a matching sash belt from a cheap jacket at the thrift store and just sew one thread belt loop on the back to keep it handy ☺️
Or cinch it with a leather Belt but I Thought it was perfect fit... Gotta have room to add Layers 💯🥰
Or use a lightweight scarf to cinch it in as a belt. Trench coats are better a size or two bigger because then you can layer clothing underneath (strip on and off layers as you get warmer/cooler) or wear a bulky sweater underneath the trench coat. Also remember you can be a bit saucy and just wear lingerie under the trench coat or bathers. Travelling is easier when you take clothing items with multiple uses. You could also wear a small back pack under a larger size trench coat when travelling. That way it's harder for thieves and pick pockets to reach into your back pack.
I'm an American living in England...the coat is perfect! Watch @theannaedit, The Anna Edit is here in England, and she loves to style an oversize jacket.
I think the trench coat looked great on you. It doesn’t look sloppy, and it’s roomy enough to layer. It might be cold so I would definitely take a couple of sweaters. We went to Europe in May of 2019 and Paris was freezing. We ended up buying a toque in Paris from a street vendor.
I went to Paris 10 years ago in July and i had to wear a sweater and a leather jacket, it was freezing. I think you just can not trust European weather 😅
I was in Spain a month before you. I wore my puffer jacket every day for the two weeks we were there! My friend only took a wind breaker and had to buy herself one on the 3rd day there since it also rained pretty frequently.
I can’t even begin to tell you how much I enjoy your videos. I just love watching the interaction between you and your mom. You’re so blessed to have such a mother. Prayers for safe travels for you and Romeo. He’s such a sweet man, a real keeper.
The trench looks great. Keep in mind, cold in england is a damp bone chilling cold because of humidity. Layers are a must so the extra room in the trench will allow you to wear a bulking warm sweater. Have a great time Europe!
OMGOSH!!! The spice rack is exactly the same as I received as a wedding present back in 1978. LOVED IT!!! Brought back many memories. Hubby and I divorced in 1979 and remarried in 1994. Still together to this day. We were kids. I was 17 and he was 19 in 1978. We had to grow to be the best for each other. We always kept in contact. Have a GREAT DAY!!!

Estate sale shopping/antique shopping is my most favorite weekend activity ever! I’m so blessed that my hubby enjoys it just as much as I do. Tagging along with you and your mom to these things is seriously such a treat!

You two are the perfect pair 🥰👩❤️👨 also, I’ve been meaning to say with regards to your awesome upcoming Euro vacay… if you plan on visiting the Palace of Versailles, it is 1000% worth renting a golf cart while touring the palace grounds. It was the best advice I received before we went on our own big wedding anniversary trip! We couldn’t have possibly seen everything there was to see beyond the palace itself. Marie Antoinette’s village was my favorite place to explore and being so far from the main palace, renting that golf cart became a must! 😍😍😍😍😍🏡⛲️🏰

Great haul. Both sweaters look good on you. The London Fog looks great on you. You will probably need to layer so you want a little room. Even without layering it looks good because it will drape and sway as you walk. Be sure and take warm hats. I lived in London for two years and I was never warm. Damp and chilly. Have a wonderful time!

I always have fun going shopping with you, especially when you with your mom, she's a gem! I think the trench coat looks great on you. I think it's better that it's a little big as there will be room for sweaters underneath if needed.Also, that little broom is called a whisk broom, that's what us older folk used to use before they made the plastic ones with the nylon bristles.

McCenna,I too love love vintage things! I learned from my decreased mother-in -law,who pass away yrs ago how to shop thrift stores! I miss her alot,because she taught me how to have an"good eye" to understand valuables items when making choices in selecting them! I loved this vlog! Great haul. I don't think we have estate sales here in the UK? It seems so strange to see someone have all their worldly goods up for sale, but it actually makes sense. Whenever I go to Charity (thrift) shops and see old frames or cutesy napkins, I think 'Oohhh macenna would love these' 😆😆
