I never censored my listening or viewing choices around my daughter. She was born in 92, and her 1st real word was Butthead. She would watch Beavis & Butthead with me every night before I put her to bed. Of course her mother didn't approve. But I told her " if I have to watch Barney and same Disney movies over and over, she can watch this". My daughter is now 29 and doing just fine, I couldn't be more proud.

Best story I’ve ever heard
I was born in 91 and I'm so, so happy that I got raised by a mother who didn't know how to be a mother and a father who knew exactly how to be a kickass dad. Other kids were into pop music and kids bop shit and I was listening to good music. The first mix tape I ever made consisted of Black Sabbath, the Beatles, Warren Zevon, the Who and Genesis. Then later in life when I started listening to metal my dad encouraged me to listen to what I liked.

When I became a single mom I realized quickly that I couldn't always watch or listen to whatever I wanted. As a metal and horror fan it was a difficult truth. Now I get my horror/metal fix while she's in school. I never gave much credence to kidz bop. I couldn't stand them butchering songs,especially if they were annoying to begin with. That being said I never realized the variety of songs they covered. Very interesting seeing what the had to censor or replace lyrics wise. Like watching a movie modified for TV and all the cuss words are covered up by hilarious replacements. Another awesome video. I look forward to seeing your handsome face every week. The earlier Kidz Bop songs I found didn't censor that much. They didn't even change lyrics in Lips of an Angel! 😂 They would've never covered that song now! Haha!

Yeeeah, some of these are not appropriate even when they're made to be kid friendly. Lol It kind of reminds me of how we would sing songs that were on the radio when we were little not knowing what they were actually about. I remember I used to love the song "Peaches 'N Cream" and now as an adult I cringe whenever I think about singing that song in front of my mom. 😬🤣 Although, I've always said that if I have kids, I'm going to raise them on metal. that wouldn't make me a bad parent would it? 🤔
