Don’t get me wrong, everyone was amazing, but I feel they’re really under emphasising the impact Hylissang had on that game. He’s easily the MVP imo.

I agree. I was really surprised when he wasn't an option. I wanted to vote for him so bad. He practically won them this game with the 1v1 to take the inhib down against J4. I was really impressed with that, but he did so much more .

At 43:23 Wunder Realm Warps at the exact second Requiem hits and he survives because of it. Such a legend man. No wunder G2 won MSI.

That Fnc Nexus rush was really a precise calculation, notice that there were only 24 seconds left for the bottom inhibitor to respawn after they finished Baron. They spent around 13 secs to be there and another 8 secs to take down the Nexus. 3 seconds missed or postponed, the winner will be G2. But the risk taker always has the higher chance to win. GG FNC
Imagine if Hylissang didn't have Shureliya at the end. The inhib would've spawned and they woud've lost to G2 lol.
A bit late, but its not so much of a calculation as much as "we dont have another play, everythig else loses on the spot"

Man at 25 min mark in the game, I was like wtf? how dare they say this is the best game ever? Its just a smack down by FNC. I was like LEC is so boring if they think this is the best game ever. Man did this prove me wrong, what a game. I think for this split, this is the best game I have watched out of both LCS and LEC.
This is the best game of this season, but please watch FNC vs UOL season 5. One of the best games ever played. I miss UoL and their weirdass picks.
To this point, I think this is the best game I've ever seen. Seriously this has been one and a half year and I'm still convinced that was absolutely the best game I could have seen. The backdoors, the teamfight the comebacks. I mean, seriously that was amazing
I've been watching pro League since 2012 and I also consider this to be the single best game I've ever seen, at least in EU.
There are absolutely legendary games like M5 vs Dignitas (Urgot 1v2 lane), M5 vs CLG.eu, UoL vs FNC regular season in 2015, G2 vs FNC in 2019 summer playoffs, but none of them can match up to this game. The only games I can think of that even stand a chance are SKT vs ROX at 2016 Worlds, game 3, ANX vs ROX second time in groups that same year, G2 vs RNG 2018, game 4 and 5, TL vs IG 2019 MSI, game 1 and G2 vs SKT 2019, game 5.
(huh, 2018-2019 just had amazing games, looking back on it)
i don't understand why nemesis even up there for player of the game, hardly noticed there even was an irelia. but hylissang was everywhere. hylissand deserves player of the game here.
Both teams played god-level this game, you could say fnatic almost had it slip away but they played objectives a lot better and that's what got them the win, even if gold was even they had 4 drakes to 0 and almost all their towers very late. Also G2 got the better of them in draft and their engages we're something else in the late game, so fair play to both teams for making this the best game this year.
The LEC finals shall be LEGENDARY!!!

Notice how the analysts said that G2 had the better mid jungle composition and would beat nemesis then after the game they are talking about how FNC had the better mid jungle composition and G2 was fighting a losing battle. This right after they joked about results based analysis.
Kewlkanaidianklub yeah I didn’t like the analysts, they say their opinion first then when it goes down hill they change their opinion just to appear “right”. I feel like they wanted G2 to win but when FNATIC won they probably were like, errr so that happened. Lool
Screw the analysts, I don't have to watch them talk if I don't want to. But the commentary is something I can't watch a match without and it's actually painfull to listen to one of these 2 guys throughout the whole LEC. One of them has huge game knowledge, goes beast mode when fights turn intense and the other one's just trashtalking literally in every single game of LEC he comments. Just saying how excited he is, how unbelievable it is, pointing out raw statistics straight from the paper sheets. Literally makes me feel angry. Have no clue when did Riot hire him bcs I haven't been following S5-8 EU LCS, but they made a huge fucking mistake because he's fucking terrible at commenting matches and I bet everyone who actually pays huge attention to commentary can tell the same. And no, it's not a good mix of a commentator with a huge game knowledge and another one who can build up tension and excitement. It's a trash mix. Tbh off topic, but had to get it off my chest to people who won't even read cuz my opinion is long as shit.
Lonique I agree, most of the game matches the commentary was literally just stating the obvious and just not making sense at all. At the same time they tend to get confused themselves but at the end they act like they know what they’re doing. Lol
Sometimes this game comes in my mind out of nowhere and i come and watch it again... Legendary. Wunder is my bae with his ryze.

I liked the excitement that these casters showed in the last play with their shouting and all, but, I still miss the Quickshot/Deficio tandem. The way they call games is still something else.

Wow, Wunder got his recall off before the Karthus ult by *one frame* at 44:15! One frame you can see his health bar, the next frame the health bar is gone, and the frame after that the other guys lose their health, but Wunder survives.

Lately (last 2 games) G2's lategame/stalling to late was really good. And they fought against the 2 best early game teams (lets just put it like that).
If they now get together their drafting and especially the early game I think, we're going to have them back on best team.

Why does the LEC have this one game format? Makes no sense because it makes the result heavily dependent on draft, whereas LCK format of Best of 3 means you can iron out the inconsistencies of draft far better.

To be fair, had he not had Karthus at his back from anywhere on the map, I think the match-up would have been much different. Caps basically had to play as if he didn't have the bottom fifth of his health bar for most of the game.
Notice Wunder at the right side of the screen at 44:14. Had he miss-timed that, FNC would've gotten the top inhib and the three inhibs would hve been ddestroyed way earlier. Hell, that was aybe game.
44:14 | Wunder just dodged the Karthus ult with his Ryze Ult O.O | Even if Caps and promisq wouldnt engage on the Karhus there, nobody would have died of G2 except Jankos who was already dead.
the casters really wanna see perkz back in mid. every time rekkles did some damage to perkz they repeated: "rekkles tells perkz to go back mid"
I dunno man, after a game like this, how the hell is the finals for spring split going to compete?

We reached a point where people seem to have forgotten about Xpeke's backdoor practically changing the word backdoor to Xpeke. Why has noone mentioned it.

Gotta ask - why did they pick Gangplank? It was either into Ryze, J4 or blind. In either case - not realy good idea, given that you don't have any frontline. But I'm not on top tier list of players (hehe), so I'm sure, I'm missing something

*they could've just picked a chogath or urgot that time since they lack tank, both can scale, and can fight hand in had with the ryze, but I can see that the gangplank is a more viable pick for them since they are a team where they want to be aggressive in the early game and snowball... That was soooo intense ! But holy s***, fnc needs to get their macro together, now that they are godlike early game. They just naram once they get a lead, that's kinda of sad
They need to fix their pick/ban too. G2 pick was much easier to execute and GP was not needed here at all

Yes I totally agree. Youngbuck stated multiple times that they are not willing to play around top and that they want top to be on an island. So I don't understand the self counterpick of a champ that is bad early, can get bullied easily and don't bring anything to the team because he doesn't even outscales his opponent. Lile either you pick a heavy splitpusher lile yorick or jayce (or even jax, he at least outscales ryze 1v1) that does at least correctly in lane, or you take an engage champ/tank lile sion, or maybe j4. Even kennen would have been nice there. Bwipo was probably overconfident and thought he could stay close in terms of farm but he just got shit on. And G2 didn't hesitate one second to put all their pressure top as a last resort cause they were getting fucked everywhere else. Bu even with this useless gp, you can try to manage waves at some point. They were just going as 5 straight to a lane and hoping they would win the oncoming teamfight, which is very hard cause you can easily get flanked when sieging inhib. And also rekkles shouldve gone ga instead of ie imo.

If Mikyx were here, FNC might have still won. But it was so close, I'd still give the edge to G2 with their proper roster. Great game either way.

Only thing makes this game long was Ryze and his broken damage. FNC was have 3 winning lanes and they destroyed enamy jungler but Ryze with one kill carried this game to the 48m mark what a fucking balanced game good job Riot games.
If you think all of G2 played well just watch siage at 42:00m to 46:00m 28m of the game 4 members of G2 coundn't do anything Ryze alone melt feed Irelia, ALMOST ONE SHOTS Karthus and bursts down Lucian's health bar WITH 1 SPELL so FNC coudn't siage anymore meanwhile other members of G2 staying behind inhi. Well deserved victory by FNC congrats.

Are you sure you even watched the game? The reason Fnatic could not "close out" was because Ryze was the one with most dmg and gold - noone was ever strong enough to face him in teamfight or splitpush, they had no frontline in comp and Cass holds the wave+ keeps away Rakan engage... not that it would have been a "mess" or that Fnatic would need to do some "work on closing". It was the plays of G2/Ryze that kept the game going, not the big mistakes of Fnatic.

None of those advantages would have been gained without Hyli and G2 did their darndest to try to come back. Had Caps probably not been cocky with picking Zed who loses early to irelia btw the game could have been a lot closer. But G2 lost this game because of that draft and their bot lane getting clapped by Hylissang... even after this win I still this G2 is the best in Europe especially after this game and that Vitality game
