That tactic has been used since thresh was released in pro play. However, thresh stopped seeing play as much so this tactic might look new to newer viewers.

They might have won through a common strategy, but in the end this series was outplays left and right (on both sides) and of incredible high pace, consitency and incredible team efforts. You know a team is good when everyone plays as each other's support. When even a Jhin with no escapes, fires up an ult for the team to make it out against what's essential a pack of raptors in RNG.
As a guy from Canada, EU is really showing up and I couldn't be happier. They could lose in semis right now and they'll still come home as heroes who shut down the Eastern giants, but it looks like they're going to go all the way. Perkz looks so happy and that interview was extremely pure in emotion. G2 might be my new favourite team.
Favorites hardly ever win. In 2019 it was G2 who were favorites, but FPX took it, in 2020 it was TES who were favorites but they did not even make it to finals and DWG took it. People just overhype things.
Going to throw this here but i'm sure i'm not alone, this is by far the best worlds I've ever seen ! The skill gap of the teams has been blown away and the meta is way more flexible than it has ever been, giving the opportunity for every team to play their style. Great games overall and as with the KT vs IG series I literally couldn't breath on some plays. Thanks Riot for giving us the best worlds so far too (even though top lane seems a bit too Aatrox vs Urgot) ! I can't wait for the other quarter finals and see if another upset happens !
Coming back here during 2022 is crazy to me. Honestly G2 botlane soaking up the pressure and then Perkz + the supposed to be Heimerdinger one trick carrying this game was the best way it could have ended.

One of the greatest series in League Of Legends history ends with one of the best game EVER. A few are ahead. SKT Vs SSG 2016 Finals Game 3 comes to mind for me first. But yes I think this was that good. Of course I am european but still. You can't deny that this is an incredible feat from G2. Europe's third seed takes down China's first seed, an incredible story. And I'm not a G2 fan really. But at a time like that it was like if my favorite football team won the Champions League. It was that good. The tension of the last game, the gold lead for G2 getting shrecked by RNG's teamfighting, only to get down by Perkz's LeBlanc. Good stuff.

It has been a busy and tough year for rng, rng has played with so many top teams (need to refine what top means btw) in tournaments especially international ones and in this s8. I can see the fatigue and so take a rest

Congratulations to G2, but it really makes you think how much of a monumental task and achievement SKT underwent to win Worlds TWICE in a row! RNG and KT have been favourites for years even when SKT was at the height of its power, and when they don’t falter against SKT, they can’t even beat EU or CN respectively. While EU have improved significantly, RNG and KT’s fall shows that Worlds isn’t a roflstomp as people believe it would be without a team as dominant as SKT.

To be frank, that Ryze ult @22:35 gave so much space to Perkz to back up Wunder that even though it's Xiaohu and he wanted to catch him out, it's a complete misplay on the side of RNG since Perkz was already super-fed and Wunder had a large corridor to escape. Congratulations to G2, but it really makes you think how much of a monumental task and achievement SKT underwent to win Worlds TWICE in a row! RNG and KT have been favourites for years even when SKT was at the height of its power, and when they don’t falter against SKT, they can’t even beat EU or CN respectively. While EU have improved significantly, RNG and KT’s fall shows that Worlds isn’t a roflstomp as people believe it would be without a team as dominant as SKT.
Hopefully this isnt a 1 year thing

You just can't compare EU to NA or with any region. It's always exciting watching EU teams play cause it's not over till it's over.

This game has become an eternal classic in our country (China), and Perkz is known as the guardian of nationality! (Keeping the nationality of all Chinese who were taken away)
To be frank, that Ryze ult @22:35 gave so much space to Perkz to back up Wunder that even though it's Xiaohu and he wanted to catch him out, it's a complete misplay on the side of RNG since Perkz was already super-fed and Wunder had a large corridor to escape.
