Hello, I will be purchasing some rain barrels from you closer to the growing season in my area and I am just wondering if there is a chart or something with info on how to accurately water each type of plant and how frequently, ie. tomatoes require a more open bubbler emitter and lavender requires emitter to be more closed. I have a garden mapped out with the irrigation system, I just don't know yet quantity and frequency of watering.

That's cool, thanks for the tutorial and all of the helpful tips. I believe you said that with a flat yard the gravity feed could reach plants up to 20 feet away? Thanks!
Glad to hear that this tutorial was helpful! And, yes, on a flat surface the water should travel up to 20-25' away. Slope and distance considerations for gravity feed is explained further in this blog: www.bluebarrelsystems.com/blog/gravity-feed-irrigate-rain-barrels/
About 8' heightened 1000 lit water tank allows me to irrigat 220' long and 4' wide raised bed with two drip lines;drippers at 2' ! 3.75 per minute discharge at last dripper! ( Every dripper give almost equal discharge) beds are leveled by hand.not land!
Good question! In all our testing, this is the best timer we've found for gravity feed. We do hear of occasional defects and there is a 1-year warranty on this product, so we've never had a problem replacing when needed. do emitters give their rated gph with a gravity system or is it less? i have a barrel that is 4 ft off the ground and everywhere it feeds is pretty much level but i just wonder what the feed out of a 1 gph dripper would be since that is much less then the pressure of a hose line.
Your pressure will change as your barrels empty so there is not a consistent gph rating for gravity fed emitters. See this Blog for more on the basics on gravity fed drip irrigation - www.bluebarrelsystems.com/blog/gravity-feed-irrigate-rain-barrels/
You can try what you have but not all drip irrigation gear works without pressure so if you don't have any luck, you'll want to try equipment that's meant for no-pressure applications. Here's a helpful article about getting started with gravity-feed: www.bluebarrelsystems.com/blog/gravity-feed-irrigate-rain-barrels/
Hi there - drip tape is not recommended for gravity-feed because it takes a fair amount of pressure to fill the lines enough to expand the tape. The kit shown in this video (and all the equipment available at bluebarrelsystems.com) is specifically designed to work with gravity-fed barrels or tanks. Got more questions? Great video! Very helpful for those of us setting this up for the first time!
Thank you! Happy to hear this tutorial was helpful for you.
Great video and great products. I will be ordering a system to install in the spring
Excellent tutorial Jesse! Once we move out to our new 4-acre property, we will have to set up a new system over there. Will be in touch then.
Thank you, Michael! We look forward to hearing from you and helping you get your BlueBarrel System up and running.
Thank you for educating me.
Happy to help!

Hi there - all the equipment for this setup is available at bluebarrelsystems.com. Thanks!
I haven’t read good reviews on the timers. In your experience how well do they hold up?

@@bluebarrel thank you for your response that was a very helpful link
Do you need to use this type of bubbler for gravity fed if your already have an irrigation system with spot spitters?
